@@Blueberrythefurby234 the belts and seat alone are 10X safer than a regular road car hah and the crash structure. The race car is designed to take a hard impact and keep us safe!
Well that's nice to know also if it seems like I was hating I'm not trying to because I actually love race cars sports cars and old cars like that it's actually kind of a hobby of mine
I might be the minority but would love to see an Indy race at Road Atlanta. The newer street tracks seem horrible compared to the legacy street courses like Long Beach and St. Pete. It's the same in F1. Anytime a street race in Texas is talked about, I just think of Nigel Mansell passing out after the race. One of the toughest drivers of all time and he was in bad shape afterwards. The cars seem like they are even hotter these days, so not ideal for sure.
So excited for the Dallas Street Race. I live here in the DFW area and when TMS shut down Indycar last year we traveled all the way to Long Beach to support the series this year. Hope our city can put on a really good show, and have tons of turnout. Party at my house!!
Great episode! I guess NASCAR felt they couldn't let F1 and Indycar have monopolies on unfair penalties, but you did a great job in the Truck race. I know top-level drivers are "a dime a dozen," but would it hurt team owners to treat them better? Rinus Veekay deserves better, as do so many others. Thank you for finding a very interesting race engineer to come on the show. Now I need to go find graphics and exploded views of things like Indycar dampers.
Is there any chance of getting Ricardo Juncos on the podcast? I've heard his story into the sport is very interesting. It would also be fun to hear a driver interview his Team Principal.
@@413TomaccoRoad it’s just not fun and racing there seems to be more chaotic than actual racing. No passing. At least in what I’ve raced there. I’m sure it’s great for Miata’s or something
I miss how cool CART was from 1994-2003 (aka Reynard era). I love to watch Arie Luyendyk’s Indy Qualifying & Gil de Ferran’s Fontana Qualifying. Would love to see IndyCars achieve those kind of speeds again now that IndyCar is like how Champ Car was plus modern safety tech
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. (Joel 2:12-13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Captivating episode again! You do a phenomenal job of finding very very interesting guests to interview. It would certainly be quite awesome if Keanu Reeves would drop by! I would also love to see one of the former drivers like Danny Sullivan or Rick Mears or did I mention Danny Sullivan? 🤣 Have a safe, fast, successful (winning) Indy 8-hour race. 🏁
While I am a sworn enemy of Ed Carpenter, I will point out that in ECR's press release (link in 25SEP tweet) Ed does thank Rinus for his 5 years with the team. Do I think it is a sufficient send off? No. Does Rinus deserve better? Yes. I still say we need a members only Hot Goss Bonus episode featuring RHR & VK.
Lol - when you first mentioned Nascar trucks a few months ago, I assumed trucks as in haulage vehicles. I was sort of relieved when I saw the race and it was 'only' pickups.
@@RabidJohnthere are series for Big Rig trucks. The Euro ones are crazy driving on road courses. I believe there is a series in the US also but never seen it.
CD, ... you got the fffnn new guy screwin' with that bs penalty right off the rip. As if you really benefited from it. They should've hit you with a radio heads up/warning. Of all the clear violations encountered during a race weekend, they ding you with that. You need a full time ride in Trucks. That way when you roll into the local small town, stopping at the local 𝘽𝙪𝙘-𝙚𝙚𝙨 ... the Southern Belle cashier inquires; "𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸?" You can respond; "𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢, 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬"
Love the fact that they have to do both sides, looks cool !!! ....and that sound of those guns always remind me of Lightning McQueen and pitstop by Guido 😅🙌🏆
This is great info couple of questions. For the weight jacker is only located in the rear right tire. Didn't know if that has changed. Also are the throttle shaping maps/modes in Indycar unique to each team/driver or are they preset by the series where every driver has the same throttle shaping options. Would love to hear more about the throttle shaping I know map 6 was S and map 7 was Butterfly. Curious if more have been added with the introduction of the hybrid.
The weight jacker is not only located in the left rear tire, I’m sorry if that’s the way I made it seem? It’s a transfer of weight though spring load from opposite corner to opposite corner. Honestly not entirely sure what you mean by the S and butterfly names. You can tune any part of the throttle and power delivery essentially. But you don’t really have to mess with it much on ovals. Road courses you tune the power delivery to help traction. All of it is entirely customizable and with the hybrid you go from 12 engine maps to 24 engine maps. All can be whatever fuel trims or throttle pedal maps
@@ConorDaly22 Thank you for the quick response. So from your response for ovals is there a hydraulic piston in both the right rear and left rear tire? I was only familiar with the hydraulic piston weight jacker in the right rear tire.
@@ConorDaly22 thank you for fast response. Found a video from RLL that shared the hydraulic piston is on the right rear dampener only. On a side note. Really hoping you get a ride nice to see a fellow hoosier in the series to root for.
Pulling for you Conor and hope you get that jhr ride. I enjoyed seeing you qualify the car at Nashville and watching your time hold up. I was feeling rain drops with like three cars left to go. Lol. Lastly, i think Alexander is a great fit for that team but i never cared for his driving style after 2018 st pete.
I love the idea of a 10 road and 10 oval split. My ideal schedule would be 6 road courses, 4 street races, 6 small oval races, and 3 1.5 mile or bigger tracks (Chicagoland please), and then the Indy 500. My question is would the teams want the season to be longer than what it is? I’d think the drivers would want more chances to compete
I don’t see why anyone would be opposed to at least 20 races. I mean right now the off season is so long that some people could lose their jobs during the off season. I think we need more races without a doubt
