In saw the Tootsie in the shed there (the class 19D loco - number 2640). She looks in decent condition surprisingly - not much rust. Has any progress been made on her? She’s a very special and popular loco… I hope she gets restored and the Mosselbay George route gets restored soon (maybe even all the way to Knysna) one day so that the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe can make its long waited return. Pls let me know.
My late Father was a Steam Driver and was working for SAICCOR driving their engines from 2005 until he passed away in December 2010. Sad to have seen this ending and the Diesels taking over. I myself is working for Metrorail here in Durban as a Yard Master. Great video and thank you as this brought back very fond memories of my Dad.
Greetings Wayne I was a driver on the 6E and unless you have not worked on them yourself you will never understand the loss of those beautiful mechanical beauties Life can be so cruel as to bring about such a loss
Hi Wayne. Can i help u with this one about wagon behind loco. Its caused by a bad skidded wheel. (Drivers call it a flat wheel sometimes) .Thnx for bfull mainline videos. Worked there for many years. Train driver on pension.
Was n swak loko. Stamp , gly, u name it. Daar het nooit 6E in Kaap geloop. Net 6E 1. Altyd lekker om terug te kyk. . . .jou video terdee geniet. Kaapse drywer op pensioen .
