Kevin Harvick racing for RCR in 2001, but it was a struggle from 2002 to 2005. Before he would make excellent progress in 2006 but faded again in 2007 but did win his first Daytona 500. Paul Menard one of the 1-win wonders, Robby Gordon winning both road courses in 2003, Jeff Burton later won for RCR and then Clint Bowyer winning at Talladega in 2011 for Chevrolet's 100th anniversary, and then Austin Dillon starting to make considerable progress until he won the Daytona 500 and Summer Daytona race. But the one thing that Austin Dillon needs to do now is to win Talladega. Just like the blast of the past with the late great Intimidator.
The rise of "The Intimidator". Rookie of the year in 1979, first cup series championship in 1980. The war between Earnhardt and Geoffrey Bodine in the mid-80s. And the struggles to win the Daytona 500. Blown engine in 1986, flat tire after running over debris from a blown engine from Rick Wilson in 1990, the head-on bird strike with a seagull in 1991 until losing it in turn 2. Runner up finishes where he couldn't get past Dale Jarrett and Sterling Marlin from (1993-1996), then getting turned upside-down in 1997 after aerodynamic airflow from Jeff Gordon cause Earnhardt to slide up and hit the wall and then flipped after Dale Jarrett and Ernie Irvan were shoved by Terry Labonte. And that is where Earnhardt's spoiler while on his roof acts like a can opener and peels open Ernie Irvan's hood and flew into the grandstands in the backstretch which did injure a fan. But then in 1998 "The Intimidator would finally get it after 20 years. Mike Skinner on the other would win the exhibition races in Japan both at Suzuka and Motegi in (1997-1998). And finally, Earnhardt's last career win at 76 and 10th win at Talladega along with a $1,000,000 bonus from Winston No Bull 5. But after all that the nightmares and tragedies that came at the end of the 2001 Daytona 500. And it was up to Dale Jr. to keep the Earnhardt legacy alive while Kevin Harvick took over for RCR in a white GM car and #29 which will be in part 2 later on I believe.
You're very welcome 🤗, this entire project took a lot longer than originally expected that's for sure. The compliments always do mean a great deal to me.
ITS AUG 2024 / I WANT TOO SEE FEB 2025 OFF 4 TH TURN AT DAYTONA 43 & 21 / JUST LIKE 1976 FROM FIREBALL GRANDSTAND / DRIVERS NAMES NOT IMPORTANT = JUST CARS /BACK IN TIME OF REAL KICKING BUTT RACES / MEM"S FOREVER
The team that the first band of Brothers that started it all. And Harrison Burton for win #💯. He is now the new breed of NASCAR Underdog. I'm going to miss him when he leaves the team and Josh Berry taking over next year.
Indeed, that's what I was saying in the video about the 2005 season. Carl Edwards is definitely a future driver that I am covering in this series without a doubt.
It was great to see the Wood brothers back in victory lane last night great history and I wonder if Jack Wood is related to the family he currently drives in the trucks series and has yet to amount to anything there and it would be nice to inow the team would have a very long future in @NASCAR
Yes it was fantastic to see the team back in victory lane, great race. Yeah I have heard of Jack Wood, and no I don't believe he is related to the Wood Brothers family at all. Thank you for the comment and have a nice day.
I appreciate that very much ☺️. I plan to continue this channel forever. I wish I could find someone who knows how to get monetized through the RU-vid program. I have tried several times but keep getting denied for some reason and I can't figure out why. Thank you for the compliment and have a wonderful day.
One of the most prominent and most important drivers in NASCAR's history. Mark Martin of Batesville, Arkansas. And his greatest achievements and misfortunes. | Achievements 1997 - Winston 500 - Talladega - (Race Record set at 188:354 MPH) 2002 - Coca Cola 600 - Charlotte - (Winston No Bull $1,000,000 bonus) 2005 - All-Star Race - Charlotte (Winning another $1,000,000 bonus) | Misfortunes 1990 - Miller Genuine Draft 400 - Richmond - (Won the race but penalized of an illegal carburetor spacer, losing points) 1999 - Pepsi 400 - Daytona - (Blows a tire during practice which lead to injury. Broken wrist and bent knee) 2002 - Pop Secret 400 - Rockingham - (Runner up finish that lead to a penalty of an illegal spring that dropped him points in the championship)
Fair I did repost it a few times, but for some reason the audio wasn't lining up with the video correctly. The timing was off. Once I finally fixed it I uploaded it and haven't since. My apologies.
@@splashgo8265 Took us out on the final lap of the Trophy dash. My driver parked out in the right side door when he parked to receive the trophy. The crowd went wild and we got a 100.00 fine. Worth every penny.
How Did Rusty Wallace Left Blue Max Buyout Moved Penske Racing Switch Number 27 To 2 Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac Grand Prix From 1991 To 1993 The Rest Is History
The only greatest achievements DEI has ever made is the domination of Daytona and Talladega. Three Daytona 500 wins, the two July Daytona race wins, and the greatest dominance at Talladega with six. Five from Dale Jr, and one from Michael Waltrip. Two of Juniors 5 wins at Talladega were both one-million-dollar bonuses.
@@splashgo8265 Now there was another driver in 2003 that was in the Kraft #81 DEI Development car. Xfinity driver Jason Keller drove #81 at Chicagoland but failed to qualify. Now there were a bunch of super team development car running part time in 2003. Except for Roush and Penske Racing.
@@roofingyall No one is hating , If you stick to facts you'll see they didn't get along but had Theresa been able to get over her issues with Dale Jr , the fact is , Dei would still very much be relevant . And yes junior did walk away and if you take a look at everything else that was going on behind the scenes I would have walked away as well. There was a lot more other factors other than Teresa Earnhardt that resulted in Dale Junior walking away from dei..
@splashgo8265 The one issue I have is at that I'm still not sure at that time Jr was mature enough to run a company, even he admits he partied way too hard and much. I think at that time it would not have worked, however with maturing over the years and getting with Hendricks really made him more business savy plus Hendricks straightened him out, made him more accountable for being on time and showing up, give better feedback from the cars. Etc. I think that's why he is so successful today, also having his sister Kelley being right there beside him every step, then marriage and fatherhood.
@@vintvarner16 I definitely agree with the maturity aspect of the deal. Then also within DEI you had the Eury factor, as well as the Ty Norris perspective so... to me it was almost a matter of time until ego's and wrong decisions took DEI down. Which is sad because if handled correctly with all the sponsors and quality equipment they could have been the next HMS or JGR.
It makes you wonder if maybe Theresa wouldve been able to negotiate better with Jr , DEI would more than likely still be around. I base this opinion off of how well business oriented Dale Jr is, Not to mention Jr has an eye for talented drivers . DEi really had the true potential to be a powerhouse like Hendricks & 2001 wouldve been a championship year for Earnhardt.
@@splashgo8265Hard disagree. It's a nice thought, but Gordon was DOMINANT in '01. Led 20% of the laps run and won the championship by two full races. 2002 would have been his shot; 2001 belonged to Gordo
If Childress had good equipment in 02 possibly sure most of the reason of that teams struggle in 02 was Harvick's lack of experience but while Dale would probably do better I don't think he would had been a contender in 02 unless they were nearly perfect to overcome Childress issues that year. 01 possibly but I think he would had gotten an top 5 points finish. Top 10 in points for 02. Then consider retiring by 2005, then doing so probably after either 05 or 06. Assuming of course he had no career or life ending injuries. Like he did sadly in 01.
@@user-ij2cg8ft1f Man I actually get your side as well. As a matter of fact I watched Jeff Gordon dominate the '01 Brickyard 400, in person right behind the start/finish line. It's just kinda like what would have been the case of Dale survived, butterfly effect wise. I think 🤔 RCR would have been stronger because Dale would have had experience and momentum, where as the team was trying to figure out there next move in '01 honestly. Gordon still would have been dominant though so I get what you're saying.
@@stephenholloway6893 I think 🤔 that indeed '01 was his best shot. Sadly you gotta consider his age and the fact at some point over the next few seasons, his performance would have probably fell off. If he didn't retire or get life ending injuries, like you said.
The last of the three racing brothers. Rusty the front brother, Mike the middle brother, and Kenny the back brother. Just like the Green brothers David, Mark, and Jeff. I mean there was a whole band of brothers that raced in NASCAR. Glenn and Leonard Wood were the first. Bobby and Donny Allison, Terry and Bobby Labonte, Ward and Jeff Burton, Glenn and Dale Jarrett, Chuck and Jim Bown, and Austin and Ty Dillon. I know there is more but can't remember them. Anyway, that's the NASCAR brotherhood of drivers. | Lost teams request | Dale Earnhardt Inc.
@@splashgo8265 The others I forgot about was Darrell and Michael Waltrip, Hermie and Elliott Sadler, Geoff, Brett, and Todd Bodine, and Brad and Brian Keselowski.
Actually I didn't forget, he never drove the #28 in 1993 after Davey passed. He was driving the #40 Dirt Devil car full-time for Felix Sabates in 1993. Kenny did drive the #28 the last part of 1994 after Ernie got injured, as I said in the video. Before I researched for this video, I had in logged in my memory the same way, so I completely understand the mix up. Thank you for the comment and have a wonderful day.
@@splashgo8265 I swear, I remember Kenny, Robbie Gordon, Someone from the Peach Fuzz Gang, oh yeah, Hut Stricklin. Can you do a race by race of who drove #28 for the remainder of 1993, after Davey's untimely passing, until they landed with Swervin' Ernie Irvan ?
@@davebodiYeah Robby Gordon ran the fall Talladega race and Lake Speed ran the next 3 races. Then Irvan came over from Morgan McClure Motorsports. Hut was driving the #27 McDonald's Ford full-time for Junior Johnson in 1993.
Hey buddy. Sorry I missed some of your recent videos. The evolution of Roger Penske racing I'm starting to see. From 2000-2009 with Rusty Wallace, Mike Wallace part-time, Ryan Newman "The Rocket" who won more pole position than any other driver back then. Kurt Busch, Sam Hornish Jr, and David Stremme. The 2010-2019 evolution in part 4 had Brad Keselowski, AJ Allmendinger and the failed test of the substance abuse policy, Joey Logano the 2015 Daytona 500 and 2018 Championship, and last is Ryan Blaney.
I appreciate it, and enjoy making these videos. I love NASCAR and I hope that these videos educate people on some of the facts that people didn't know about some of the teams and drivers.
