Welcome to my channel. My name is Craig and thanks for stopping by. I will be covering many topics that interest me in every country that I visit from the Philippines, Malaysia, Oman to the UK and other places. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my channel. I hope I don't disappoint.
I'll be doing an update video later after my application for NBI clearance has been approved 🙏 and I've had some queries clarified at the immigration centre.
Those departments have websites to review to get information before hand. If you are going to official government departments. Do you not think bringing along passports would be prudent?
I wanted to get some information first and I find it easier talking to someone face to face instead of scouring the internet. There's a lot of information to search for online. The websites don't tell you everything and I still have questions about the forms so I'll be going back again. I'll do a video update.
Not too sure but that's pretty typical. Most PR have renewal conditions in other countries. It's an automatic process, just pay the fee (unfortunately)
I read that too, when the process was done from another country. I haven't fully read the forms yet. I'll get to it this weekend. Will update you later.
@@ChasingTheSun1967 There is no medical clearance required. The NBI check is mandatory!!! Take all your paperwork (most important is your passport and PSA marriage license) and have several passport photos with you. Be prepared for NBI to take multiple photos themselves and also both electronic and paper fingerprints. Save up pesos for airfare to either Cebu or Manila for your interview. Bring lots of photos of your married life together. I used a very reputable Visa Consulting service for well under 40,000p and removed all chances of my application being rejected for any silly mistake on my paperwork. Plus they provided special care (priority) on our interview and biometrics in the Philippine Immigration office. I had NO sleepless nights worrying about the 13a visa process failing. Good luck and keep us posted.
well done Craig - retiring under 60 WOW - very few in Oil and Gas will ever experience life without work through choice - enjoy every day you deserve it.

@@ChasingTheSun1967 but those 110K unemployed Omanis will contribute to the economy as well. Let alone that won’t be sending half of their salaries outside of the country.
@@ChasingTheSun1967 they won’t, they didn’t do it when it was much worse. That’s why we have this huge waiting list. Remember most of those are university graduates and they are educated enough for some of the roles. Real problem is, will the business owners hire locals while they have a cheaper alternative? I don’t think so
Hi Craig. Retiring early seems to me to be the best option. Life should not be all work and no play. I hope u have a very happy retirement in the Philippines and I'm looking forward to seeing your future videos from there.
I'm a 62 1/2 yr. Old American that can draw 70% of my S.S. if I wait until 64 it's 80% which is about $1700.00 plus I will draw another $200.00 from my 401k for a total of $1900.00 I'm hoping that would get me a half way decent life style in the Philippines
Thanks Andrew, yes it was a panic and expensive mistake 😑. It's not the first time I've had issues with passports. You should check out my Holland video 😂
That's a shame to hear about the decline of how things are in Oman, I spent a few years as a teenager growing up and found it to be a magical place with nice locals.
Hi Greg. The locals are still nice and friendly but the high SIN tax is killing the entertainment business. I also see a lot of businesses closing regularly. You're right, it's a shame.
The lockdowns had a terrible effect all over the world. We haven't returned to normal. A lot is on Zoom now with much less personal interaction. I think under the circumstances you were lucky you kept your job. Some people were trapped overseas and unable to return home for a long time - without any resources. Also given your age, there would have been no work in the UK so I'd say you did not fare poorly and your employer was not unreasonable. Good luck with your retired life.
@@ChasingTheSun1967 I’m guessing you haven’t gone to other islands. Because I went there once and I’ll never go back because it’s just a tourist trap. 2 million tourist a year visit that small island each year. That’s why we love Siquijor because it only has about 100 K tourists each year and the beaches are better.
