BERNINA Jeff shows how to and useful tips to enhance your sewing experience many of the tips apply to all sewing machines Baby Lock Janome Handi Quilter the oil and Oiler with no leak tip for $12 is the best one out there Keep on Sewing
You helped me gain the courage to take my Bernina 801 apart and get her back together again. Videos like this make so many peoples lives better and I just want to thank you for taking the time to give the community some of your wisdom to help us all out. Thank you.
Thank you for the information here. I was struggling with the whole oiling thing - all the way from the needle plate to getting everything put back together.
Thank you! I was doing the Hokeypokey and didn't even know it. I hope that I will get the hang of this. I've been embroidering on a different brand and there is a learning curve to the Bernina.
As usual, BJ demystifies tension issues. You are the first person demonstrating using the hook in addition to the case for the "drop" test. We are always admonished not to mess with the bobbin tension, but if you are sewing with different threads, it really is important. Plus, there is a reason they give us a little screwdriver to fit it! Needle size, thread weight/type, and upper/lower tension are inextricably linked.
Thank you SO MUCH for this!! OMG you saved my life. This never happened to me before, not sure why except maybe I haven't been sewing a lot lately. Worked like a charm.
I'm so thankful that when I have an issue with my Bernina 770 plus, I can find the solution from Jeff. We don't have a Bernina dealership closer than a few hundred kilometers, so I use Jeff all the time. From New Zealand.
Thank You! I inserted one of the pegs then with a slight twist of a screwdriver and a push the leg was installed., The tray is much steadier now. The word front must face forward and the word back must face the back. Excellent product!
Interesting, So the authorized cheat of putting a drop at the top of the hook as you just shout, that replaces the drop in the race? But the drops in the felt pads are necessary no matter what, is that right?
Hello Jeff you do not ship to Switzerland I wanted products that you have made and when you put your phone they know is Switzerland but for the country they done have Europe
Hullo , i have a machine 1530 that i was asked to look at because it was said the back light wasnt working ... funny it is working ... However the images on screen ie stitch patterns ... etc. The machine lives in a thermal active area i wondering if the Contacts for the screen drivers could be corroided ... Just as a test i was looking at disasembling and cleaning with contact cleaner etc Or is display a regular failing point on the 1530's Great guidence on The roller ball rollers Jeff ... on computer mouses its normal that finger grease interferes with the operation of the rollers for the pots ... It was a regular weekly task of Cleaning the Mouse's Bottoms of 100 or so computers 😅😅😅😅😅 G1XZL/ZL2SCI
I love my 830 and 880 and am so sad that BERNINA went with the other bobbin design. I’ll not be buying a 990 anytime soon Only plus I see for it is the ruler stitch regulator but that’s not even very important since I stitch more by sound
The turtle method looks awesome, hopefully it will allow me to reinstall the hook mechanism without all the colorful language I usually sputter! Thanks! Also thanks for the bobbin and oil technique!
Thankyou so much for this video Jeff! My inherited Bernina 830 record has been in storage for a long time and the original foot pedal has been misplaced. I'm having alot of trouble finding a replacement power cord/foot pedal here in Australia - do you have any tips on where to find the right one online? I'm getting alot of search results for the new Bernina 830 machines but nothing suitable for the 830 record.
Thanks for all your good advise. I have subscribed. I have one question: Where grease is needed on the gears of a sewing machine, I use Silicone Lubricating Compound. Do you recommend it? I enjoy fixing sewing machines with the help of my husband who is an auto mechanic specialist. Thank you so much for taking the time.
Bernina should really start a rerun of making and selling the 830 and the 807. They would sell these with ease! And there is definitely demand for them. I absolutely love my 807 and 830 both still stitch beautifully and are so reliable I will never part with them as they are fully serviceable and will out live me. They hold their prices because they are great sturdy machines. Unlike the new computerised and plastic part machines. Please Bernina see sense and start making and selling these machines again.
Jeff, you are the best! Thank you for this info, its invaluable to us! Really enjoyed this video, it is so frustrating, and such a waste of time...time and time again...going over the manual and failing to understand it! I have wasted years, trying all the buttons everyday, and failed each time to get the info you just gave us. After this video, i feel such a relief.
I am having a problem putting the small cap on to the metal spindle of my 590 machine. Could it be because I have the air conditioner on and door closed. I am baffled.
Help!!! My 830 LE will not transfer a design from computer to machine. Nor does it read a thumb drive! For a year now...long story. Do you have a contact number or email or something? Than you!
