The US also allows Filipino youths to enlist with the US Navy at the rate of 20,000 a year, thus about 4 million Filipinos who.were were given immigration privileges after serving with the US Forces are now sending home about 10 billion dollars a year to.their relatives in the Philippines. The departure of US Forces also resulted to reduction of Philippine GDP by 5% representing the expenses of US service personnel and maintenance of US and salaries and benefits given to Filipino base workers. I think the American knew that the japanese will attacked pearl harbor because they have radar but when the radar personnel in Hawaii reported about suspicious fighter plane to pentagon ignored it because the American cia want their gov't forced to declare war against Japan if those official in pentagon not ignored that call from radar personnel in Hawaii the war will be prevented and the Phils will not suffered a horrible experienced l think that is intention by the American in pentagon they will sacrificed the lives of 3,000 American in pearl harbor in order that united states' congress and Senate forced to enter into war .. that is what point of view me and others.

After all of this war and conflict. The USA, Philippines, Japan, Germany, Vietnam are friends. Even the Taliban in Afghanistan, show signs of wanting to have a partnership with other nations in the far future. We need to wish for powerful nation like China to be more peaceful also.
Maybe what my mother shared with me while she was still alive can be taken as a warning to our current government and military. She grew up in Zamboanga city and years before Japan occupied the Philippines, as a local she was familiar with what’s happening in the barrio, the poblacion or tiangue (public market) and faces or personalities she interacts there either as a customer buying provisions like rice, sugar, dried fish and other typical grocery items or acquaintances. She would mention the presence of quite a bit of “aliens” from other countries like China who would initially stay indoors with their kin’s, learn the local dialect and few months later will start working as a ‘tindero’ (like a retail sales staff person) in local stores owned by their kin’s. There were also Japanese men doing similar ‘tindero’ work and my mom fondly remembered them being a ‘suki’ (regular customer) of theirs. When the Japanese forces entered Zamboanga, my mom together with other members of her family sought refuge in the mountains and jungles of Zamboanga peninsula. My father on the other hand being a soldier joined the guerrilla forces but later on became a POW. My mom and her family returned to her barrio when she heard that the Japanese imperial forces have secured Zamboanga completely and fighting was now confined either in the mountains against the guerrillas or outlying towns. Because it was now considered peace time, most civilians like my mom were able to visit the ‘tiangues’ again to get provisions though sometimes under suspicion by Japanese soldiers that they might be spying for the guerrillas. And this is where one day she found out the shocking truth while in the poblacion, she was able to meet again the Japanese ‘tindero’ she was a regular ‘suki’ but he was no longer working as one but smartly dressed as a Japanese imperial soldier with what my mom fondly remembered with the rank of ‘tenyiente’ or Lieutenant. Long before Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and subsequently attacked and occupied the Philippines, they were already there, we simply were not smart enough to recognize and understand what their true intentions were. These days we can ask ourselves the same question, which particular nationality/ies from other countries are predominantly present and economically, financially, physically active and influential in every aspect of our country, whether business, government, economy, etc.? We should learn from our past history.

This is the US propaganda movie. Japan didn’t invade Philippines, but liberated it from the US who betrayed it after a war against Spain and colonized, after Pearl Harbor attack. Then Philippine got independent in 1943 without the US.
