I have been keeping and breeding reptiles for almost 40-years, and the goal of this channel is to share my knowledge and have a few laughs, all while hopefully raising some money for USARK.
While I work with many species, this channel will focus on Arboreal Boids (Green Tree Pythons & Emerald Tree Boas), and the content will be created to help both beginners and seasoned keepers. In addition, I plan on visiting other Arboreal Keepers, and interviewing them to learn about their husbandry and breeding techniques.
Lastly, I am a Hobbyist and I do not sell snakes to make my living. I also do not consider myself to be an Expert. Like you, I'm just a person who loves snakes, and I'm looking to share my years of experience to help you be more successful with your animals, while avoiding the many mistakes I've made in my reptile keeping career.
Curious, is there any big difference between the 2? In terms of size mostly, I know the boa’s will get about .5-.75lbs heavier on average but every photo I’ve seen of full grown tree pythons they always look so thin.
Nice 🙂👍 are they same size as Brazilian rainbow boa, and large coulubirds like indigos get 8 ft but I also wanna know can they eat same prey size being that all snakes I mention seem to be equal size as adults and all are testerial tree climbers 😊 so being that Brazilian rainbow boa, emerald basin's, indigos are as adults very much similar size and climb eat same prey seems good only thing will seem be different is there girth as to which one will eat the larger prey item . Which is typically rats , bats, birds , 🦎. But the question is a 6-8 ft adult can stay rats entire life but at that size idk if just 1 large rat is good maybe a jumbo rat works best my intake .
Can you feed a 7 footer jumbo rats ? Im ball python owner myself i know for sure they eat jumbos but balls are shorter then these both as adults . And also know that black rat snakes , eastern indigos snakes , rainbow boas,,bullsnakes all eat jumbo rats also . Also wondering sence they love birds in trees so much will it eat full grown pigeon? Can you give them adult chemelons, tokays , skinks , bearded dragons lizard ?
Boelans pythons are a pinaccle to anyone's collection and very gorgeous animal. They can grow 7 to 8 ft maybe even 9 ft kinda like what a carpet python size is.
I wish only a few of the emeralds would stay the reddish orange and not go through the octagenic color change. Just a few I still love their vibrant greens. I guess iff I would want an orange red tree boa I would settle with an Amazon tree boa but the emerald tree boa would look out of this world in reds and oranges as adults.
your absolutely right David makes the best perches. my condros and carpets love them. far superior to the others popping up with their 3d printing companies no question.
Totally get you on the emotional effect of handling a Boelens in person. They're truly remarkable and special. There is something 'other' about them. If I had the space they deserved, I'd justify the cost.
A very well known breeder here in Germany breeds his females in their twenties. The oldest female he paired up was thirty years old (30) and give him a perfect clutch but died right after it if I remember correctly. Markus Weier is his name. He is also the writer of a book about husbandry/ keeping and breeding green tree pythons. Anyway… keep going the videos! I absolutely love your content. You’re too funny and the interactions with your wife always let me fell from my chair 😂
Meanwhile, here in Brazil, it is prohibited to keep and reproduce our own snake fauna. We have a maximum of 10 legal reptile farms throughout the country, with very few species and morphs, at exorbitant prices. Here our communist government hates entrepreneurs and they are about to vote on a legislative project that completely prohibits the trade of any pets, due to the lobby of pseudo-environmentalists, a complete nonsense.
