I think Ritchie Blackmore is uncomfortable with other guitarists idolizing or attempting to emulate him so closely and not developing their own style. Ritchie Blackmore's honesty can tend to sound hurtful to his fans and those who are unintiated with his feelings and sense of identity as a individual. And for those who simply enjoy Ritchie playing his guitar for himself and those who respect his music.
I like Dave, but I don't think that I've heard anybody genuinely say that they feel sorry for the things that have happened to him in his life, but I do not know everybody in the world, so I guess it is possible

Yngwie opinions on humbuckers, metal etc. seems like a spoiled arrogant teenager trying to feel superior guitar player. Very MalmsTEEN. I find his music boring and soulless. But that's a matter of preference. He is for sure a great guitar player, technically speaking.

Blackmore explained once how Hendrix played many wrong notes, for example, but that was because Hendrix was searching for the perfect one. When he found it, the result was sublime, according to Blackmore. That sentiment is what Blackmore is speaking to here: the adventure and spontaneity and discovery of music through playing the guitar. Therefore, being polished is less valuable than allowing for the search to inspire. Nevertheless, Satriani is an amazing player.
Trying to be a successful musician while making a point of telling people you don't like Dylan or Hendrix is career-suicide. You don't have to like them, but if you don't respect them you are probably not making music enjoyed by the majority.
