Yngwie used to be my guitar hero, and he composed great unique stuff during the 80's,90's unfortunately he kinda lost himself in just speed and not really creating real songs... well to me its very sad because Yngwie just left a legacy for music and especially for guitar players, so he deserves a better reputation for his retirement...I am sill hoping he hits the road again... Can't tell much about slayer not my type of music
If you are a guitarist, there are plenty of great guitarists out there. Like have you heard of Doug Rappoport? He has a YT channel. Great player & musicianship. I don't know what kind of music you like. Here is one that may interest you. Her name is Lari Basilio. She is from Brazil and without a doubt, probably the best female player I ever heard. She really isn't a metal player, more rock, jazzy and funk.. Whatever she plays, it is impressive. Yeah fuck Yngwie, he hasn't put out anything decent for a while besides a "blues" album which was a joke. I think he made it because too many people asked him "why don't you play pentatonic scales" Either way,he isn't a blues player. Too many notes per second.
I'll give you the latter point (he abuses the whammy like no tomorrow) But Kerry King is full blown atheist. No one in Slayer is a devil worshiper. It was done for shock value, and it catapulted them to fame/infamy.
