My name is Maciek and I'm a backyard grill guy, cooking for my family and friends. Originally from Poland, I had my first taste of American BBQ at age 10. And let's just say I was immediately hooked!
In 2017 my loving wife bought me a Big Green Egg for Father's Day. I decided to do what every 35 year old guy does when he gets a new grill. I started an Instagram page to share my dishes with the world. Well, maybe not everyone... What started as a fun hobby has grown into a full blown passion. Cooking, grilling and sharing my easy grilling recipes with others is what this page is all about.
I make easy meals that anyone can replicate at home. I'm not a professionally trained chef, just your average guy that likes to fire up the grill.
I have 2 friends now that cant have mustard, allergies. I dont like using oil on the meat, so i started taking some of the fat i trim, render it down in a skillet and rub the meat with its own fat as a binder, in case anyone has friends with similar allergies....
I have lived in Philadelphia for 30 years. I'm not a native but lived here long enough to know, what natives consider to be an authentic cheesesteak. #1, do NOT use cheese Wiz...the favorite is American and #2, the best roll to use, is from a local, family owned company known as Amoroso. Taco seasoning in the meat ?!😱 Don't think so....usually salt and pepper will do. Sauteed onions, DEFINATELY !!! Sometimes green or hot peppers are added. We have a cheesesteak hoagie, with lettuce and tomato and even a pizza steak with sauce and mozzarella. Cheesessteak toppings can be as varied as those for a pizza, but the basics must not be altered.
Just did this and the jar cracked right down the middle and everything spilled out. It’s a proper canning jar too and it wasn’t cold but I guess the temp shock was still too strong 🤦♀️
