Is the pad not still under warranty? Stick drift sucks. The best thing is to remove and change both potentiometers, but it's not an easy task

@@CraigsChannel Yeah that was the route I was to go with my scuf last year lol. My soldering skills was not up to par lol. Pad should still be under warranty since I haven't had the system for a year. I was trying to see if I can clean it up a bit.

You fitting the kit on another pad?

Is that the centre ones? Like the ones on that back piece of plastic. Maybe pop the cover off and check they're lined up properly. I know you don't get the same kind of click from k1 k2 as you do them, k1 and k2 are a really solid click

I'm not sure what you mean Chloe? If you remove the cover for the back paddle you won't be able to use the back paddles 😂

@@CraigsChannel well mine keeps on going into the settings mode without me doing anything and then i’m not able to use it

Settings mode? What remap mode? Are you definitely not pressing the back button in? You could pop that little square back cover off and remove the remap button but you'll be left with a little hole, if you don't mind

@@CraigsChannel yeah the remap mode just randomly activates while i’m playing. i’m fine with removing the button i just wanna know how

@Chloe Alyse is it during all games or only certain ones? It shouldn't really activate, maybe remove that little back cover and see if that little buttons in right, or somethings pushing against if, you might need to file it down with a nail file

You've put your controller back to standard and it won't turn on?

I've also tried different batteries to see if that would help it but still won't turn on

Did it work before you put it back standard? Sounds like one of the ribbon cables isn't on properly. Not much can really go wrong, I'd open it again and maybes remove all cables, ribbons etc and re fit them

@CraigsChannel would the ribbon cables affect the batteries? If so then it might be that as I lost the ones which came with the controller originally and I've put it ribbon cables from a spare part controller

There's two different kinds, well 3 now. But you'll more than likely have the BDM-010 or 020. You can't mix the ribbons up, they're slightly different to each other. I think the 10 are green or black and the 20 are the white with blue

When people have that issue it's usually the ribbon cable the wrong way around, double or triple check it, the one that you'd use for the L1/L2 side

The back buttons didn't click? It sound like you didn't install them properly, they're really clicky. Was it the 2 button kit or 4 you fitted?

You only had to do the soldering if you wanted to remap L3 or R3 to the back button

@@CraigsChannel oh, I removed all of it and now all I see with my controller is the orange light and it doesnt flash or anything when I press the ps button

Are the ribbon cables in the right way? People have been having issues with the L1/L2 side

@@CraigsChannel I fixed it after like 2 hours, I cleaned everything and put it back together and it worked. Thanks so much man you earned a sub

@@CraigsChanneljust had the controller for a good while now and the battery dies about pretty fast. Replaced it within a few minutes and lasts up to more than when it was new with the other battery.

My controller is always plugged in, it's probably not the best idea but I sit like 4ft away from the PS so just plug it in hoping I get better response time 😄 Yeah the batterys are super easy to change, you might even have bought a bigger capacity one

When other people have had this it's normally been the L1/L2 ribbon cable either the wrong way round or not pressed in enough

I've not yet got my hands on a BDM-030, extremerate asked me to do commentary for their videos on the 30, the removal would just be a reverse of that. I'm still in two minds to buy the Dualsense Edge!

The back piece? It should just pop off the way it was popped on, use the prying tool that came with the kit

I'll be honest I never use the middle buttons only the side ones, I'd be best off with the 2 paddle kit as 4 buttons seems a bit to much for me 😄 When you say hard click? The side ones are going to feel totally different to the middle ones as they're totally different buttons. Are you sure they're not OK and you're just expecting them to feel like the side ones if that makes sense

@@CraigsChannel well, i got 6 wins on fortunes keep tonight so they work well 😂 but the left middle instanly clicks when you press it like the rest, but the middle right one you have to push it very hard. So hard that the button hits the plastic underneath over the whole lenght and even then it wont click all te time. I tried putting something onder de button so it touches the little sensor underneath better but it wont work. I looks like the button is to loose in its uhmm housing ? I dont know how to call it. Or that the little sensor underneath the button ist the same height as the other sight

Have you tried removing the back again and installing it upside down, that's how I put the kit together to stop everything falling all over. Easy dubz for you on Rebirth then 😎 I've not been on for mayes 2 weeks, Rebirth is my favourite but everybody's got mixed reviews of this new map, I've not had a chance to try it yet

The sticky bit on the battery will be fine, I've swapped the same kit over to a few pads. If push comes to shove and you lose the stickiness just pop to your local store and buy some double sided sticky tape. I had stick drift on these pads. Just put everything back to standard and if it's under warranty send it off to Sony to be fixed

Did u mean not working? My L1&L2 are not working either with the rise4 kit. Well more like the L2 is being held down when it's not.

That's your call, you could swap it for another ribbon if you have spare? But if you don't you could always risk it and send it away, see what happens! Personally if I worked for Sony and seen the ribbon snapped I wouldn't care less, stick drift is the main issue here not a mic

Great news, did they give you a 020 model? Have you seen they've just announced the new offical pad with back buttons? They look a little weird, button wise

They said release is the 1st, it's on Amazon but you can't click buy yet, it's still saying unavailable

Yeah same process for 010 and 020. No sure if youve seen but, they've even got the 4 back button kit now. They all comes with the 010 and 020 ribbon cable so work on both models

Have you tried the plastic version? I find them to be my favourite, I was never a fan of the metal ones

Just the same way you program. Hold the back button until its a solid red light, then say you've mapped X to K1, hold X and K1 it'll unbind it 👍

Hi Aaron thanks for the kind words 😁 That parts the controller speaker, so if you play any games that need sound coming out the speaker that's what it's for, I think most people just use headphones 🎧 so it shouldn't be a big deal. I'm unsure if you can buy that cable, but you might never have used it anyways

Did you not send your faulty one off for a replacement? Sony are fixing them, well sending new ones to people who have drift. The 4 Button kit will work on any model 😁

It just sound like you've not plugged the battery in properly, that's the only reason it wouldn't be turning on, you'd have to open the pad undo the battery and reconnected it, leave the back cover off the pad and press the PS button though, don't put it back on until it's working

What you installed? The back button kit? It can't have anything to do with the kit, the analog has nothing to do with them, you might have just knocked the analog slightly or lifted it. Maybe hold your pad, press down firmly on both sticks, like press them down in case that's the problem

@@CraigsChannel thats what im thinking i didnt touch the front of the pad at all but it only started when i installed it

Like I say it's definitely nothing to do with the kit, drift only happens from use like wear and tear, it's either coincidence that's its happend while you fitted or maybe you've gotten something inside one of the analog sticks like a hair or dust. When I've had drift I've had to open my pad and clean inside the tracer, Sony should have really thought of a better idea for them, if you Google it million of people have suffered from drift on these, my friends had 5 pads in 12 months 😳

@@CraigsChannel yeah man it’s ridiculous ive only had this pad for 2 months and its the right thumbstick which i barely press down on im going to try open it up and clean the tracer now do you know which one of the 4 i would have to clean since it drifts to the left?

Off the top of my head the bottom of, you'll know anyways as you can see the potentiometer move when you move the stick up and down or left and right. I'd try blowing in it first, do you know how bad the drift is? If you go on Google and type pad tester there's a website you can use with your laptop, just plug the pad in via USB and it shows you how bad the drift is, hopefully it's an easy fix. If push comes to show its still under warranty, my friend I mentioned, one of his didn't even last 2 months 😄 I've had drift but manage to fit it
