Sorry to hear this. But this video really helped me. After seeing your video I realized YT could do the same to me, And they did, less than a month later. but I was mentally prepared for it. I'm pushing to increase my numbers back up this month to keep monetization. thanks for the help. Hope all is well w you.
Hello Roman, how are you? Really great to hear from you. Everything is OK with me. I should keep my video output going as well. It’s a great reminder that we need to diversify our income streams, but we already knew that, of course!
Sorry to hear you are pulling back from content creation, but I totally get it. Priorities change as we get older, so good for you Rob. Best of luck and enjoy your retirement. You inspired me to start teaching and in fact, I have partnered with another guy and we are part way through creating a training program. All the best Rob.
What!? They can take you off the partner program simply because you haven't uploaded? Imagine Amazon seizing all profits from your books if you haven't written a new one in a while. Even by RU-vid standards that's disgusting.
Yup! They can and do. They can do what they want. They're Google. Imagine Amazon saying that you can't receive profits until you've first sold x amount of product? You can't exactly take your business elsewhere. There are a few powerful tech companies that are monopolies.
this didn't work but someone in the comments said to try "elements" in developer tools and hover over text to see which link is the image. well that worked but the image was compressed for some reason. then as a last resort I tried looking in the "sources" tab and after opening some folders I found the full resolution version! (and the compressed one) so sources might also work if you look for a folder with a name that sounds like it could have images in it
Man that 5 x 8 size looks. BEAUTIFUL! I prefer that size as well. I’m going to be making mine in that size as well. I know the standard is 6 x 9. But for a book like mine which is 111 pages. I know that 5 x 8 will look beautiful. Thank you for this video!
Great video Rob, a problem I’ve been running into is my vector creations have too many small shapes and vectors. Do you have a process for limiting those once vectorizing?
Amazing video, please keep doing more Midjourney to Inkscape videos!! If you can do a video on making logos with Midjourney and then edititng them on Inkscape, that would be Amazing!!
Verygood. One query please. If for front and back and spine you have your own images ready, are these to be positioned to the inside edges of the orange margin, the outward edges or the trim line?
So, this depends on if the images have a background color. If they do, they need to extend beyond the trim line to the bleed line (to and over the outside of the orange/pink lines), if that makes sense. In the example I do above the front image is on a white background so I didn't have to bother with this. I hope this helps.
Great video. Can you please confirm that it can be done 100% with the free version of Canva, whatever the dimensions of the book you target (ex: 5x8, 6x9, etc.)? Thank you
I believe it's still possible. I had a look on Canva and it's all the same. the KDP template generator has changed a bit since but it's still the same in essence. Yeah whatever book size should be OK with the free version of Canva.
HI. Thank you for this. My PDF Reader Pro does not give the page size in file properties. Is there a specific version you are using to get this? I only see 8,5 x11 in the document info. Thank you again.
Great explanation there, Rob. One question though. For the spine, how do you fill in the colour when you use full-length coloured pictures for the front and back and have stayed within the pink margins?
Thank you so much. Yeah, for the spine, or the front or back covers you can just put a black or some colored box for the background color and then add the text. I usually put a black box to cover the whole of the back cover and the spine and then the front will be an image. But you have to be very careful to make sure the box is on the line between the spine and the front cover. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
