I'm a quiet guy with a deep appreciation for the art of singing. I also study history as a hobby, particularly Germany's military exploits in the two World Wars. I'm American, not German. 'German' is in my username because I study German history. I would prefer messages sent to me to be in English, although I don't mind reading German.
Warren is extraordinary, even with this fairly primitive sound, the voice shines through as one of, if not the finest baritones in recorded history. Sayao is also wonderful and the conducting powerful and exciting. A real gem.
My father's favourite. When I was a young boy of around six after WW2 I used to have to wind-up the gramophone so my father could listen to Gili on the 78 records he treasured.
I saw them in 71 at the Fillmore West with hot Tuna , Daune put his guitar through the ceiling. I see why they called him Sky Dog. They were the best band. Next stop was Fillmore East 4 the record..

My late teacher (a very talented tenor) always said that Bergonzi was the greatest tenor ever to sing Puccini. I can't disagree. I heard his final recital at Covent Garden and it was unbelievably stylish and beautiful.
Great in the Studio! Great Live! Sounds Like Master Duane Is Still Alive and Well on this One! This Was one of the Most Complex Blues Band Ever With Only a Handful of Rivals.
The world's greatest living tenor depends on the day, on who is in the best voice. Pavarotti, Domingo, Kaufmann have each had incredible periods, not to mention Villazon. Appreciate when all comes together and they are miraculous
