Eating premium beef Hotpot at a high end restaurant in Japan where they provide table side service Sukiyaki Kappou Hiyama goo.gl/maps/h2g7f8gaZGCdNk888
I really dislike places where the staff cooks your food at your table, like, I don't know what to do with myself the whole time so I just awkwardly sit there and wait for them to be done.
I disagree, i find it fascinating. Although I might dislike it in Japan if you are just supposed to sit there quietly. In the USA where i have had this done i chat with my party or even the chef if it’s allowed.
different people react to do different style restaurants that is why there is such a variety to choose from, even one that you eat alone with a stuffed animal!
@@markylon ayyo that's so rude! Take your advice, being an adult isn't mouthing off to other people. I can't stand to sit in silence while someone cooks for me, it isn't fun at all. I like to talk or cook for myself so I agree with them
For some reason, dancing bacons is my daughters favourite channel. We always watch your videos together at bedtime, today is her 10th birthday and she was very happy to see a “birthday bacon” especially as the lovely Mrs bacons was involved. We love Mrs bacons 😊
That’s so sweet! My stepdaughter is about to turn 13 and she’s obsessed with K-Pop haha. She loves these videos now and it’s making her appreciate SE Asian and Japanese culture better outside of just the music scene or anime.
Hi! I enjoyed your channel. I started watching 3-4 years ago when I had struggles with eating. I wanted to eat but nobody to eat with or my experience felt too boring so I watched you guys enjoy your food while I enjoyed mine. It made me feel less alone! Thank you for posting these videos!
Whenever I eat alone i like to watch a DB video to make it feel less lonely, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one. And I’m proud to hear you’ve gotten past your eating struggles!
Paying that sort of money, I really appreciate how this place cares about their presentation even with just the raw food coming to your table. How the server takes care and attention when they prepare your food, they really take care of you and care about you leaving feeling satisfied! Everything is so elegantly and thoughtfully prepped and you are served in a way that your bowl is never over-filled. So wholesome!
I am Japanese, but reading the comments, I can understand the cultural differences. Not only at this restaurant, but at any restaurant that serves sukiyaki, you can choose to do it yourself or leave it to the waiter. Sukiyaki is always cooked in a controlled manner so that the beef is thin and not overcooked. So, in general, you leave the cooking to the waiter, who will serve you the best possible quality and sometimes chat with the waiter while you eat. Please do not think that the video on RU-vid is the whole experience. The price, by the way, is not much different from that of a steak because it is a rare specific part of Wagyu beef. If you lower the quality of the meat, you can get a more reasonable price, and this kind of price is only for special occasions such as anniversaries.
I went to Japan, back in 89 and stayed with our exchange students' family. I believe she had stayed with our family the year before. So it was me and my mother that went. They had a HUGE family but the father was not there. Not sure what happened. I digress. One of the dinners we had was shabu shabu....and it doesn't take long at all for that to cook. I remember they told us, we are to dance it around the pot with our chopsticks (which I never really learned how to use) and say shabu shabu, a couple times and it was done. WAS REALLY GOOD. I was 9 years. Was a pretty neat experience for a 9 year old American to see all the different culture. :)
I love that Dancing Bacons goes to so many different kinds of places to eat. This would never be my choice of place to eat for a lot of reasons, but it's really interesting to get to experience it through the eyes of DB. I'm often skeptical about high priced restaurants but it seemed like this was worth it if you like this style of cooking and eating.
Your wife/girlfriend/friend/sister or whoever it is who sometimes joins you in your videos is absolutely adorable. Please tell her I said so. I am so happy I found your channel. Watching you enjoy all of this delicious looking food makes me want to go out to explore more cuisine!
This is a funny concept to me. Hot pot, something that has always seemed so personal, being done for you. Yet, when it's that expensive, I'd also prefer someone do it for me so I don't screw up.
Personally, I would feel so uncomfortable at this restaurant with someone sitting there and cooking for my husband and I. Please just leave us alone to chat and eat. Lol. Love all your fantastic videos!
@@mandy11254 exactly this. You go to a place like this more than likely knowing someone cooks for you. Why complain about it when there are many other options available.
@@MrTheHamsterrrrr That’s what the restaurant is for. Don’t eat there if you don’t want to, but don’t complain just because it doesn’t suit your needs, just eat somewhere else.
For everyone who says it is uncomfortable, I think this kind of places are more suitable for business talk between two or more people who are actively discussing. For people who are looking for casual hangout, there are places where you can grill and cook food yourself and chat freely. But this is just not it.
I love your videos! I can't eat very much bc of health problems, so watching these helps me a lot. Your videos are the only thing I can stand watching. Every other RU-vidr who makes videos of this genre always have too much eating sounds going on! All the peace and quiet in your videos are what make you so good. Thank you so much for doing what you do!
I absolutely love this channel. I love how relaxing and satisfying the videos are, especially for a food lover Thank you so much dancingbacons for uploading content like this ❤
Even without the usual commentary from Bacons you could tell by the way Mrs Bacons did that little dance of happiness about the hotpot that it was excellent! I love seeing Mrs Bacons give that little smile and giggle of hers when she enjoys something, it's just so cute
When Miss Shander did her happy dance upon tasting the shabu shabu, it was so cute! She looked ready to cry, she was so happy. If I could afford something like this, I'd do it to enjoy the experience whenever I'm able to next go to Japan.
Oh my gosh she is making the food look super well plated and taking her time cooking it in almost an elegant fashion. I would just toss everything in the hot pot and then into the dish 😂. Also, why were those juices so expensive?!
@@childofcascadia did not even consider that. Thank you for the information/consideration. Still baffling to think about, but I’m sure it was delicious and worth trying at least once.
What i love about these videos are that their soo relaxing and the only sounds you hear are background noises or just general chitchatting in the back, their so nice to have playing on my TV when I’m working on something. Watching it feels like I’m there too, quietly enjoying a lovely meal whether its from a convenience store or a high end resturants. Its all so soothing, Thank you both for making these wonderful videos
When someone is willing to cook food in front of you, it means you know exactly what you are putting in your body. It's an experience not meant for everyone. Personally I see this type of dining as a treat. If you appreciate excellent food and the effort that goes into it, then this type of place is for you.
Good Chefs don't hide anything when they are back there in the kitchen either. It's just awkward when you have a couples night out and you got the cook at your table like that
Beautiful meal. Personally I wouldn’t want to order the first set you had…only because I would eat it all and still be hungry. 😂 But the second set you ordered would be filling enough and it’s worth the price since you’re paying for the entire experience, not just the food. ❤ Maybe I should put this restaurant on the itinerary for my trip to Tokyo… ? 🤔 As always, thank you for sharing your experience with us!!! ✌🏻💕😃
I enjoy these delicious treats through you. Thank you for sharing and this! Also, I really like your editting style - the subtitles and bites of food you show really make me feel like I am tasting the food myself!
absolutely lovely, skilled hospitality. i love watching people prepare my food as someone with a lot of illness causing sensitivity to many common ingredients, and these portions would be perfect for me, personally. what a relaxing, fascinating experience
Thin meat that has been hand-raised and never known a day of stress in its life -- you're eating the best. If you love beef, it's the experience you're paying for.
@@laerwennah..... you guys need to stop idolizing everything Japanese people do and admin when something is a straight up scam. Even with high quality beef the price is nonsense
The internet’s love to the Chef! Personally I would hate the server having to on spot cook for me I would be too embarrassed, but I can understand that some people might find that nice. Everything looked so lovely though!
Kudos to your patient to wait the dish to be cook by the server. I personally couldn't really enjoy your situation, because not only I have to silently wait my food to be done, the portion for such a big money seems not worth it. You just got a 4 slices of meat for over $100 and couldn't enjoy the eating because the server cooks it for you. Thank you for sharing this experience!
i love your channel :) i would watch this a lot in 2020 when i only had instant ramen to eat. your videos of all different kinds of foods helped me cope when i was so bored of the same food and eating alone. thank you so much for this channel!
You channel has some of the best food content, and I love how you went from doing gas station snacks in Japan or Vietnam and now your doing some fancy stuff y'all are the best
The cooks for you and serves you, amazing, I just love your wife's reaction on how the meal tastes, looks delicious 😋. Respect to your cook and server.
I love your videos. Really like the ones with your wife in them. I like to watch her reaction when she tastes something new. Thank you for all your hard work.
I enjoy watching DancingBacons todays delicious meal had me feeling i was eating like a queen😋and you know the food was delicious when Ms Bacon does her adorable the food is delicious smile and dance. Cant wait for the next eating adventure ❤️🥓
kudos to the chef cooking it! great mastery of cooking the hotpot..have to wonder if this person gets hungry serving all of these yummy dishes every day and if he makes it for their own lunch and or dinner break..i know i would! great video! thanks to both of you for another adventure in Japan.
I am 21 years old and Japanese. I have an American and an Australian friend who are good friends of mine from a game called VRC, and they came to Japan on a trip. They had heard about Japanese teppanyaki through the videos on this channel, and they really wanted to try it, so I took them to teppanyaki restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka. They were very impressed and said they had never had such delicious meat. And they took over 100 pictures lol They have really funny jokes and are always in high spirits, and their personality becomes even funnier when they are drunk. I love them!!!
When you visited some fancy restaurants, the foods really looks appetizing and tasted very good, but not filing. I remember in some other of your video, you told us something like that😅
I don’t know why but I can only dip beef in the raw egg yolk but I can’t do the scramble/mix. I like those restaurant that give you a strainer to separate the yolk from the whites because it means they usually have some where for me to leave the whites behind.
The restaurant experience videos are so much more satisfying to me than the quick food or vending machine videos. I love how quiet cook in segment #1 is. Maybe I need to move to Japan if it’s quiet like this in lots of places. America is so loud. Raw egg? Even if safe, they don’t impact flavor much and have an annoying slime texture. You both seem to like it though.
