My introverted instinct tell me that I'd be too shy or too nervous to try out food in this manner but it looks so good. I'm intrigued at how much detail they put in the presentation itself. I love such videos although it's a dream for me to experience such things in real. Lol
I'm also introverted as heck but, I tried going to a place like this with a few of my closest friends and it was honestly the best time I've ever had haha
First off as a retired Executive Chef I can say there is nothing to compare to the Chefs table (which is what you are getting here) but at the price of RM 620 ($141.00 American at the time this video came out 23 minutes ago) I am surprised that they have the nerve to charge you for a beverage. Anyplace in the world I have worked the Chefs table has always included beverages of any kind. With the exception of DISNEY WORLD in Florida the Chef table did not include anything but water, even more here you had the price up front at DISNEY the only thing you knew was is the meal meat, fish or foul. The price was given to you at the end is is on par with what you are paying here
That was my main issue as well, as just a guy who's never paid more than $30 for a meal on himself. If I'm paying that much, I'd want a water, even just a fountain soda.
I noticed if u go to a mom and pop restaurant in Asia you get great customer services free drink or a free snack. I think when money comes into things (expensive high class restaurant) they lose alot of customer service by being less personable and there's no chance for even a free water.... I personally wouldn't ever pay this for a meal mainly because I'd never be able to afford it 😂 but even if I could I prob still wouldn't knowing I can get a decent steak for less than half that price. The hype for wagyu has certainly upped the prices on wagyu everywhere.
Might be a cultural difference, when you go to high end dining places in Europe you hardly ever get free water. Its always bottled water, usually from a fancy brand, to be paid for by the bottle.
I cannot imagine how long Chef Kang must have spent, learning and honing his craft. This was amazing to watch, both for the yummy food and to see such an amazing chef in action!
For a professional Chef like myself it took 4 years in Paris and 5 more years of apprenticeship to earn my Executive Chef title and close to $100,000 dollars American and that was in 1983 Can't help but wonder what it is today. Yes I have earned that many times over, but I consider myself lucky to be in the right place at the right time
The attention to detail is just astounding! Everything looked immaculate. That is nothing short but what I expect for this experience and it definitely looks worth it.
Chef Kang was very good at what he does, it was so interesting watching him cook! And his explanations were all very clear too. I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching fried rice being made on a grill like that, it's so fascinating to watch the rice go from clumpy when it's first put on the grill to the beautiful finished dish!
Thanks for sharing what a fantastic experience, wow, it looked absolutely awesome! I nearly shed a tear when the second steak was put on the plate, perfectly done.
This was very cool to see, thankyou for taking us with you on this special culinary treat. I learned some stuff and think I dribbled on my screen watching you eat that beautiful steak. Wow it looked so good. Great video guys, take care and thankyou 😊 🙏 🤠🇦🇺
I just LOVE your channel. You treat the expensive, fancy restaurants with the some joy and excitement as you do the street vendors. It's just wonderful. And I am SO envious of all the delicious things you get to try!!
This is one of the most beautiful presentations of food I have ever seen, the chef takes so much time to explain every detail of the food he is serving and how it should be enjoyed, I'm VERY envious of this experience.
What a delicious memorable experience.. thank you for sharing it with us.. Closest iv come to this type of dining was at a Benny Hana’s style restaurant in California years ago where the chef makes the shrimp fly to your plate after it’s cooked .. Another Great video Dancing Bacons .... 🙏
Oh l totally love all of your videos that you both do. Teppanyaki is so divine and pure perfection they way the food is cooked and how clean and magnificent with how it is all served. Total perfection. Thank you for sharing. 💖💖
Ok, the way that Chef was cooking, plating & presenting his dishes...... I could watch him cook all day!!! It was beautiful!! And the food looks so good!!!
Food cost…..maybe $20.00……giving the benefit, let’s say $30.00 tops……less that 10% is fair, the prep here is magnificent and the food I’m sure delicious….but……
Well everything really amazing and Mrs Bacon face said it all, not to mention Chef Kang talent. Though for the price doesn't seemed like is a big meal.
11:10 The store is really a thief they are charging this 330$ and still giving half sized mushroom.and half sized lotus root. And such small piece of sushi given at first place
It’s kind of sad that for that much the drinks were not free . The food looks delicious but I found it funny when he said to taste the steak without any seasoning but he had already dumped a whole bunch of salt and stuff on the steak lol.
This was great to watch but I don't know that I'd enjoy having instructions throughout my meal 😂 I'd be too nervous the chef was judging me if I went out of order! Lol
23:31 1,445 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is $355.79 United States Dollars (USD). I would pay that for such a wonderful full-course wagyu steak dinner for two people. Everything looked fantastic and so expertly done. Too bad the fried rice was overpoweringly salty and the dessert was just dragon fruit (notoriously bland).
I would never be able to pay such a high priced meal with my income, but I can imagine people who are able to afford this will actually be satisfied with the amount compared to most other high class teppanyaki courses.
This meal looked like you would actually be full by the end of it. That's good. Sometimes I see expensive meals and I feel like I would need to get a cheeseburger after to feel full.
0:48 Did you order the cold green tea ($0.79) or did it come with the meal? I have seen other videos of top teppanyaki and sushi restaurants in Japan that serve very expensive fare, but they include inexpensive tea or a mug of sake or a cheap bottle of beer with the meal. In the USA, drinks typically account for half the profits in restaurants, and high-end fine dining restaurants will offer very expensive wines, champagne, spirits and cocktails to the guest at high prices.
Such a work of art, i don't even eat seafood, but love seeing the passion, love and skill involved. Does anyone know by any chance what the Chef was using at 3:25 with the matchstick looking things while grating? No idea what spice? It is, i'd highly doubt its cinnamon haha. Thanks, love the content as always Dancing Bacons :)
It confused me too, but you can see a lime with some zest removed nearby. I think he is simply using that tool to scrape the lime zest out of the grater.
