You need to make business cards and start handing them to the shipping and receiving managers at the locations close to home. It works. Start skipping the brokers,and get yourself some dedicated work.

Every driver out here has to stop taking cheap freight. I don't get how carriers are taking less than $2 a mile with these fuel prices.

I set my app at $8 mile and up for those last minute broker loads and worked on mowing the grass. If I get a hit I will tell them I need $10. = I need to counteract all the other truckers taking the .50 $1 cheap freight. With the fuel costs you are close to $1 mile cost now. =I fill up the fuel tanks, work on the truck, and mostly stay at home now. Truck has never looked better.

Get a TWIC card asap! Easy to obtain. Son has 4 trucks running 24/7 clearing containers out of Portland and Seattle. He’s been doing this for 2 years and the back log is worse than ever.

Buy a flatbed sir.. it will give you tons more content to record plus the rates are good.

Hey Justin, good video as always, be care in the ports a friend of mine been doing some port work and nearly got his freightliner hood ripped off by another trucker racing around the port getting loads. Just a heads up might be fast paced so keep your wits about yah. Yeah I still have my tanker endorsement and just renewed my hazmat endorsement too and the TWIC card are now related as far TSA looking up information and back ground search so may be quicker getting a TWIC or hazmat done quicker in the great paper work shuffle of TSA. Yeah the old reefer swinging meat and tanker business like old bull haulers cause was use to shifting loads during stop and go traffic and driving as your conditioned and learned to be slower on reaction and counter reaction to crap happening in emergencies and being safer keeping your distances with traffic.

Seen a lot of them container walkers when I was in the Navy and I still have it on my bucket list to drive one ! I called them yard walkers because I went into the Navy in 1977 and had a thing for Star Wars ! Flatbed loads pays way more when cargo loads. I haul wide loads or heavy machinery all the time. And the pay is excellent. Jessie asked is ur fridge in ur KW stocked up? Mine is all the time and I just remembered that there's a bag of chips that Jessie never opened up and she just ran out to grab it. The KW is parked outside across the street in the neighbors driveway. There out of town for a week and they always let me park it there when I come home for lunch if u am driving a daycab or a dump truck.

This week wasn’t too bad for me even though there was this one under paying load at $2.25 a mile. I did 4 loads in 5 days Monday to Friday and grossed $7900 and spent $2100 in fuel. If I didn’t needed to go home to the family I could have grossed $11k, $12k In 7,8 days. Stay safe out there Justin and shout out to the wife and boys.

Just let you know the fuel prices in NY are between $6.19 and $6.55 and pa is usually about 20 to 30 cent's higher then NY

Fuel price was $5.39 a gallon at that QT. I remember earlier in my trucking career I got yelled at for buying fuel at $1.33, which at the time was way over the average price of diesel.

My Grandparents were from Uvalde Texas. It's like little Mexico. Great place when I was a kid. I was born in the body of christ. That is Latin for Corpus Christi. I was in full P.P.E. out side a school cutting trees and I needed a bathroom. 6 mother's in the entrance. One started to open the door for me, I said no and pointed at the office.

Might have to lease on tp a carrier/power only to combat this high fuel. I get so tired of seeing you provide for your family and self. You have options.

Love your video's as always Justin!....Here in the UK I was lucky enough recently at a local Transport Festival to be able to sit inside a 1996 "Kenworth W900L" . It had an Internal Bulkhead between the Cab and Sleeper with a square shape opening!. The owner of the Truck also watches your Vlogs!. American Truck's are Not used much commercially here in the UK as they are too long when coupled to our 40ft trailers taking them over the 52ft (ish) length limit, but we do have a much taller height limit at just over 16ft 6in (3 feet taller than you have in the USA).

I like this guy. He's as busy as can be working long hard hours, with occasional stops for his family with an uncommonly great attitude. He must be carrying a huge mountain of debt, but he must be handling it very well.

WOW, your toll roads sure are cheap. Here in Australia, it will cost you $64.61 to travel through Sydney, plus there are some places where trucks and buses over a certain size MUST use the toll road. This price also applies to cars towing caravans.

The flatbed rates not looking so good right now but my company freight is paying way more then the broker freight in my area of running broker freight 1500 for 650+ miles company freight 2500+ same miles

How far out are the brokers when paying you, are they prompt or does it take a while?
