55 year watch enthusiast... Wonderful! I am so happy for you! Congratulations! A respectful suggestion: Whenever you go out with your grail watch, put a small storage case in your briefcase or car. You never know when you may have to take the watch off to protect it from any potential damage. Seriously, I work with my hands all the time (pardon the pun) and it is a great stress reliever having that portable case at hand. You worked very hard to achieve this milestone in life, so why not give it the protection it deserves. All the best! Enjoy!
@@abhaig Wise guy... The point I was attempting to make is always make provisions to protect what is valuable to you when you are performing tasks, or going to areas, that may pose a significant risk to the watch or your person. If you damage the watch while doing work you ordinarily would not do, you will have plenty of stress and grief. I keep one of my watches with me always in a small case in my bag or briefcase. I always know where it is and if I need to take it off, I have a place to store it safely.
Congrats! About two months ago I picked up mine first Patek 6119g. I immediately ordered a blue alligator strap which appeared to be a present. Travel pouch was also gifted. I’m still wearing the watch as my number one despite having other options. Patek, for sure, gives special feeling.
Nice personal exposition in the beginning to give your viewers some perspective of where youre coming from. Shows you actually worked for your achievements and appreciate it all.
It’s a beautiful dress watch. 10/10 to me. Simple yet not boring dial, beautiful movement visible through the glass. Very elegant, yet very quiet. If I had that amount of spare money and already owned a reverso, I’d love to get one and probably wear it everyday :)
Forget the so-called "Holy Trinity". JLC is reknown for being "The Watchmaker's Watchmaker". In other words, their movements and overall quality are outstanding! Wise choice.
Congratulations on your beautiful new Calatrava. I tried on a 6119G at a Patek AD last week and I agree 100% with your review. An elegant, classic, iconic and stunning timepiece. If I were to buy a new Patek, I would get a 6119R. My only criticism of the watch (besides the price) is I would prefer its case diameter to be smaller. I thought it wore a bit too large on my 6.75" wrist for a dress watch. Enjoy your Patek in good health :)
I like that calatrava, but ultimately I went with the VC Traditionelle as the design resonates with me the most. Also a very lovely story you mentioned, I hope prosperity keeps staying with you.
Congratulations on a fantastic watch and a great personal achievement to be able to have such a great piece. I absolutely love your choice of the 6119 in the yellow gold. Truly a special watch. I’m wondering when you put in “an order” as you say at the top of the video is that just you putting your name on their version of a list. Or are you actually ordering it and know the allocation is definitively coming?
Lovely watch. Class design. A little old fashioned for my tastes atm… might be tempted when I’ve retired in ~20 yrs. Or likely a 1908 when Rolex add a moonphase.
I'm 52 year watch enthusiast, I dont own anything this fancy but Im still working ton get there... most likely never. I like the black dial more than this but you do what you like. My grail one is 6007G
Great watch and great video: I couldn’t be more happy for you. A very nice purchase and timeless timepiece. Congratulations. Wear it in the best of health.
Hey man, nice video. Congratulations on your latest grail watch. It's truly a very beautiful and classic timepiece. Also good video quality and presentation. 😊 Just a quick question: Are you German? I was wondering because of the accent. Anyways, have a good one!
14:08 is it fair to give it a 3/10 for sportive usage when the watch just is not made for that? And why a 3 instead of a 1 or something else? Just curious.
@@Dazulolwarrior That may be the case. That actually makes it worse considering seiko is now known for this design and not Patek. LoL why spend so much on an unknown design more so on a watch that has a pretty shitty movement.
I highly suggest wearing an arabian robe when going watch shopping. eliminates any wait list immediately. to make it even more convincing, find yourself a camel that you park in front of the store.
You wasted your money and it is shocking that someone with that money would spend it so unintelligently. It is one of the most worthless Calatrava models and if you love it, you also possess no taste in timepieces. You may not like this comment, but in the future, you sill come to realise the truth of it.
It's junk..... $36k junk TO ME. Glad you truly enjoy it and happy with it. But if you bought it because they force you to buy it before you can get anything else, then I don't have respect for you.
What’s with the negativity? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, one man’s treasure may be another man’s junk. Calatrava is a classic Patek watch and is far more affordable than their other stuff
