Honda has this special skill of making excellent products and pricing them atrociously high so that no one buys them. Happened with old civic hybrid and accord hybrid, now they are doing it with the latest city hybrid and this cb300. Some wise person once said foolishness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, was wondering whether that person meant Honda!!!!
Honda doesn't really sells substandard products to cut down the tax in india, it's the greedy indian taxation system that makes it so expensive, if we would be having USA taxation we would be giving close to 2.1 lakh for this bike, the real price in india being 3lakh plus, it's the government that makes good brand look like wrong doers but it is the government really that is regulating the sales of substandard products to th very high taxation upto 45%in luxury cars, that is were city sits
@@dhruvrawat8978 So according to your logic in ckd tax and bs4 version honda was selling shitty substandered cb300 right? And now they are locally making good product without ckd tax thats why they increase the price right ? Use some brain cells if you have one.
It costs 2.77L in my state, don't blame Honda for high price, blame your government for high taxes. Been riding CBR for almost 10 years now and haven't faced a single issue till date. I'll always go for Honda as long as quality is maintained.
Horn button location- Maybe Honda wanted Indian people to stop with the non-stop unnecessary honking 😂 and majority here anyway don't use Indicators 🤷♂️ Sad, but true!
I had a highway ride on this bike today and I managed to pull out 41km/lit average..this bike is crazy...it just a month old baby..but loving every single second on it
Costing 3.2 on road Mumbai. Just absurd. Test rode the machine and its a blast unfortunately asking price and feature list dont match at all. Honda should really think!!
@@Moonlight-hq3gi bhai tb to duke 390 ho lelo agr itne main aa rhi hai ye to, honda ne apni bigwing ki gadio ka price ajeeb sa Kiya hua hai, CB 350rs ko h'ness ke barabar jbki usko 15-20 hazar km rkhna tha or cb500x ko 7 lakh kr rkha hai jbki wo bike 5.5 ke andr aani chaiye.
I think Honda knew that a bare bones Street Naked 300cc bike won’t do volumes so they chose to instead charge a premium and keep it strictly for Honda fans. Long term ownership of a Honda and its resale value ensure that whatever premium you pay upfront is turned negligible eventually. So don’t skip this just because it seems over priced to TVS or KTM bikes. You won’t regret buying this.
What's up with twin? Twins are expensive to maintain and a bit more fuel consuming. They are complicated and requires high skilled mechanic. Single cylinder gives better acceleration and that's what we need on street bikes
I just rode it yesterday and it feels phenomenal and even tho its crazily priced I'm willing to take the bait and pay the unnecessary premium for this machine, the duke 390 is just way too old at this point and I'm more of a honda/yamaha guy and ready to get this. I'm still looking forward to the MT-03 too.
The pricing would surely determine its sales in India. Sad that Honda doesn’t plan pricing according to the market. Hopefully the new variant gets sold than the previous gen bike..
At this price point they should have launched the international spec version which gets Showa suspension, Michelin tyres(MRF tyres sucks) and better switch gear quality
Thanks Rishaad for an honest review....especially as components like USD compromised, locally made, yet overly over priced....I checked at dealer as well....they are praying to God to sell these bikes....I suspect with these consistent over pricing and compromise on components...Honda will have serious brand loss which will be permanent in India....I wish some sense visits Honda India sooner....
Okay so will you pay 4 lakhs ex showroom price for it? If they bring the same bike thats sold in USA? That's the base msrp in usa. And add out taxes on top and get this bike for 5 lakhs? Use some common sense. People who rode the bike has loved the front end feel inspite of the new USD forks. Showa's wouldve been better yeah but these aren't bad at all. The brand doesnt mean anything in low end bikes. KTM's have had WP Suspension rear shocks all these years but they've always been terrible at almost everything. Only now in 2022 they've started using good WP rear shocks on their indian spec bikes.
For that money, why won't one get the Duke 390 which has the same kind of short gearing fast acceleration properties with much more power and agility. Even the fuel economy is very close. Honda should have a look at their strategy team
I’m putting my money down for this bike as it makes sense It won’t burn like the classic in the heat It won’t be slow like the cb350rs it won’t heat up like the 390 or the interceptor And I can ride it without hassel of the ongoing fuel prices as maintaining this is easier than any of the above mentioned bikes Also it has better quality than the rr310 or the bmw
Agreed it won't heat up like the 390, but just wear jeans and shoes and you won't feel any heat. + 390 has better brakes, lights, tft display, performance, bigger fuel tank , quick shifter and gives a bigger bike look overall.
Given the current bike options available in the market, Guerrilla, Duke, bmw, Triumph,.. does buying the cb300r make sense? Is it a good buy even now? If city handling and fun to ride is priority
Actually this is a good review Autocar India 👍. The one part I feel like adding is that (this was told by other reviewers) the CKD unit had little bit more build quality than the current locally manufactured. But that said though this is in no way bad in build quality (current version). And unfortunately it is really badly priced. 😭 Edit: That Saree Guard looks awesome 😂.
No it's not true. It's solidly put together. People are just saying stuff because it's made in India. Info Bikes even felt the new one had a better build quality.
2.77 ex showroom 🤣🤣 , dominor 400 onroad price 2.65 only 😝. Yes dominor has some cons mainly heavy weight & can't be reliable like Honda but it can do 60-80k KM for sure but in other aspects it's a good value for money 🤷.
This bike's price has no business being in league of rr 310, Duke 390, bmw It can scream about engine refinement all it want but I ain't paying 2.77 lakh for this. Plastic body and small fuel tank is a big no no. Honda must be drunk when it was setting price for this. Even RR 310 makes way more sense than this.
Hey Autocar, this bike released months back. But you have taken your sweet time to make this video. That’s not fare. We want instant reviews when the bike gets released.
Thank you for sharing your valued demands. Honda does not have media test bikes. This review was only possible thanks to a customer who shared his bike with us.
With this senseless pricing they're bound to stop production this too. Honda has such good bikes but are adamant on pricing. They need to do some detailed research on pricing
What about cb 500f. Is it launch in India or not ??? If Honda is planning to launch that bike should consider about price bcz honda has already launched cb500x due to over price didn't run a business. That's why if they plan about cb500f price should be 5 lak ex showroom
It's simple u can't afford a Honda DONT GET A HONDA! Honda is reliable smooth and a quality product ! I own a cb300r and didn't let me down . Good average comfort and compact bike
