Maximum people drive sedately not everyone is an enthusiast.. City's gearing is very tall, 6th gear me 20-30 kmph me chal sakti hai without any jerk..aur 3rd gear me 165+ jaati hai. So jisko performance chahiye usko performance milta hai aur jisko average chahiye usko average milta hai..just Japanese Engineering.. City me jo 3000 se 7200 rpm me power milti hai wo Verna k 1.5 NA me nhi milti because City has VTEC characteristic in which engine has two normal cam profile and two for higher rpms and takes more air in higher rpms so more air+fuel combustion inside the engine resulting more power delivery just like turbo engines
90% of the cars sold in usa and europe have 150 bhp+ engines.. and even in china most people are buying 150bhp+ engines.. due to good roads and expressways.. now expressways are growing by double length in india every year.. so according to your logic those 90% are enthusiasts and only 10% are in your maximum category.. now since 2021 in india people are going for powerful cars and by 2030 most people will be enthusiast according to your logic..

I own slavia 1.5 dsg.. i remeber one time i was going between delhi and agra driving at around 90 kmph and getting mileage of around 21 on ac.. then i felt last 40 kms are left.. lets have some fun.. so i switched to sports mode and almost overtook every car on the way.. had a fun race with fortunner for around 10 kms.. the drive control in sedans is so much better then suv's .. still got overall mileage of 18.5 with ac.. untill i reached hotel in agra.. but i have seen even slaiva 1.0 guys drive as fast as me.. but overall these cars can be driven for both mileage and fun.. sometimes your mood changes for fun drive and when you don't have in your car.. then it feels like buying a car for going from point A to point B and maybe in future you would buy some expensive luxury powerful car for that.. but then people grow older and have kids and dream fades away.

touring ke liye vw skoda better lagta hai. but reliability ka issue ke liye questions hai. virtus is my favourite sedan tbh in terms of styling. then Honda city, then slavia. overall performer is Honda city be it reliability, be it driving dynamics.

Jis desh mei maximum limit 120 hai usmei suljhe insaan ko kisi bhi 5 star car mei theek thak safety milegi, haan verna deform zayada hogi because load pathing nahi hai but overall safety of actual passenger is 99-100 ka difference but kahi na kahi ye baat hai ki vw/skoda handling better karengi toh aap highspeed mei better control mei reh ke apne chances bada sakte and verna ka break slow lagne ka reason hai thorda soft suspension, if hundai tunes brakes to hit hard then car's suspension could bottom out and it will dive nose first in the road but at the end of day anything above 100kmph is basically neglecting any safety rating and wahan I guess 6 airbags matter more, that being said i would not be comfortable in driving any car on Indian roads above 100-120 . And turbo engines are good but i don't think we have service network in any brand to back it up. So I'd stay away from all turbos in petrol for few years, let the tech mature up. Staying with NA engines makes sense for middle class people and, i have prior experience with honda, too expensive for cars like amaze, forget the city. Can't get it fixed from anywhere else as well. That only leaves 1 sensible option that's hundai' verna. If you are like me and can live without adas, pick the verna in mannual. You'll feel the luxury without actually paying for it. Service is cheap, car is good from the inside where you'll sit all the time and eventually you'll learn to appreciate it on the outside too, it's the first in segment with this design but others are catching up, few years down the lane it will make more sense... completly unrelated but damn i want passat to come back bhyi!

No doubt build quality of Slavia/Virtus is better but if we compare between City and Verna,City has better build quality... Rear doors of verna are even lighter than Xcent which has lighest doors i have ever seen.. City is a 5 star Asean NCAP rated and same model selling in india as honda officially claimed it..Indian variant will also score 5 star rating in GNCAP/BNCAP if tested.
