What u said about Polo is spot on, polo is love❤,if u r spending 15lac then kushaq is small they are competing in segment with wrong pricing, btw I own rapid , I love that car that was value for money
I agree.. for me I feel following points they should improve 1) size : definitely matters. In bangalore its top model will cost 24 lakhs.. but if you see kushaq/taigun with even sonet. Sonet will look much bigger car. Width: we indians buy as a family car and need for 5 ppl. 3 ppl can't sit in its back seat.. creta/seltos has much more space. 2) feel good factor: I did test drive taigun gt top model 6 months back. It doesn't look like top model. Fabric seat. No EPB. Forget about 360 camera. .. it doesn't even have guided lines in rear camera. 7 lakh Tiago have.. how much they can save in camera.. maybe 500-1000/-.. ppl can pay them.. but they dont want to sell. 3) they don't understand, ppl don't pay 24 lakh only for engine .. they need overall feel good car if they are spending 24 lakh. 4) even if they increase the price by 1-2 lakh and make overall good car.. ppl will buy.. but they don't want.. 5) even polo was very good car, instead of upgrading it, they stopped. 6) they took good amount of time to make this.. they have seen the creta/seltos.. and ppl's expectation.. they should come with better package to fight with them.. but I feel they don't learn 7) you ppl discussed about purchase of service plan. I want to add here, why ppl should be buying such plan and pay in advance for 5 years.. instead they should have competitive service cost.. if they put slightly more than that of creta/seltos.. ppl will not complain but should not be double..
Excellent analysis, hope VW & SKODA guys will watch this and take corrective actions. Here is my 2 cent - 1. If I’m paying 15 lacs, I won’t mind paying 1-2 lacs more but I would like to have a car which fulfil all my requirements/expectations otherwise even 15 lacs will not be worth spending. 2. For the Indian buyers, maintenance & resale value matters along with other required & feel good features(like Creta & Seltos). For this reason many buyers are ruling out German twins.Over the period of time, people have realised value of safety ( or say GNCAP Rating) as well. With this, Japanese twins (HONDA Elevate and Toyota hyryder) falls in between German & Korean twins & have very good opportunity if they can include those X-Factor ( set of additional features like Creta & Seltos), they have very high potential to rule the market, even if the price is slightly higher. 3. I’m planning to buy my next car in next 2-3 years and I have high hopes from Elevate due to reliability, safety and space at the rear seat. I’ll be watching how they evolve…I expect turbo engine , ventilated seats, power seat adjustment…etc). If they consider these, Elevate will be my 1st choice….and for many others, I’m sure. 4. German twins need to give good space at the rear so that 3 passengers can sit comfortably - average Indian will not pay such high price for 4 seater SUV. Plus, some other feel good features to help taking confident decision by the buyers. Thanks to Daksh & Navneet for raising voice. 🙏
Things that VW or Škoda should do are 1. Start giving 360 degree camera with good clarity. 2. In GT models, they should start giving 360 parking sensors. 3. ADAS should be given, if not all features, then atleast blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control as these two seems most relevant in India. 4. Vegan leather seats for top models with color choice. 5. Improved AC performance just like Kia and Hyundai cars. 6. Hydraulic Struts and one touch up down windows. 7. Launch a hybrid sedan for their Virtus and Slavia line up. 8. Launch a ev lineup for their Kushaq and Taigun line up. PS. I don’t think sunroof is a practical feature in hot and humid weather like India, specially the panaromic one however. So they should keep it optional just like Tata.
To doo list for VW 1. Launch Polo in sub4 (top priority) in 2024 early 2. add features in existing cars like ADAS ,360 camera ,panaromic ,soft touch , overall interior 3. provide Automatic from Base 4. enhance touchpoint under 100 km 5. reduction Service Charges etc.
@@prashanth7996 Dost, bahane bante h media dwara, logo dwara, ki plastik me yeh kami aa gyi fit&finish me compromise ho gya.. Unhi logo se pooche ki aapne polo, vento, rapid li thi...most of them would say no..ki service zyada thi. Ab service kam kar di h toh bhi shanti nhi h logo ko. Yes the quality has been compromised but only the ones who have had skoda,vw cars in past have the moral rights to say so.
Absolutely spot on. VW and Skoda should take note of this and come out of their dark Indian future. I am Vento DSG owner, and would love to see VW flourishes.
Global no 1 in 2023 with 320 bn revenue. What is there to flourish? In a poor country like India, they should not sell VW and Skoda. Audi and Porsche should be sold by them
One of the best ever honest review on VW-Skoda Cars. Biggest letdown to me is the width of the rear seat. VAG MQB-A0-IN platform should have been designed keeping in mind Indian family of 5 Adults. It offers Length, Wheelbase & Legroom of Midsized 4.3 Mts & Width of Sub 4 Mts or Premium hatch. They should have increased the inside width by atleast 100 mm for better shoulder room. Presently its *NA Ghar ka Na Ghat ka* comfortable for only 2 at the rear & for 3 its a Squeeze. Hence it looks like a raised up hatch or Sub 4mts C-SUV. But priced higher than people's expectation against king Creata & Seltos overall offerings in the 4.3 Mts segment. That's where Indians are rejecting it on comparision. To me Its a big goof up by VAG or it was deliberate European sized which could be exported from India with heavy localisation. It was Suicidal as they were Aware of the Success & Sales nos. of Creata-Seltos in the Mid size segment.
6 airbag as standard, better quality plastics, no squeaking / rattling noise in interiors, windows, suspension and shockers - This should be done on priority !
the thing is you don't need 6 airbags in a 5 seater car!!! plastics are good quality my 13 year old vw still runs like a champ no squeaking sound nothing it saved us many a times too was hit by a wagon r at 100/120 kph didn't even budge when the wagon r was literally in bits you'd know if you ever sat in one
@@fuckingdumbo "you don't need 6 airbags in a 5 seater car" is a statement well enough to justify your username. Is everyone all around the world stupid to advocate a minimum 6 airbags in a 5 seater? Some have even gone onto use knee airbags and what not. Yes, old VWs and even the newer ones like T-Roc have been built to last but the newer ones like Virtus and Taigun (along with their Skoda counterparts) are known and prone to cost cutting type niggles and issues. I have driven Octavia, Laura, Rapid and Vento for long enough durations to come to conclude that my Virtus, Slavia and Kushaq test drives didn't match up the older standard. (PS: I also had a Superb for a 4+ years)
Size boss 🫡 VW cars looks small when compared to others in segment with almost same price. Very good analysis. Maja aaya 👍 We all car enthusiasts need VW in India and management needs to work on what is suggested in this video.
What improvements top models Kushaq/taigun needs are as below 1- Better tyres (high thickness) 2- Adas level 2 3- 360 camera 4- increase overall length (to look big& more space ) to 4300-4350 mm minimum 5- improve plastic quality in cabin 6- Also give option of hybrid engine 7- Hill descent control ( hill hold is given already) 8- 4 Disc breaks 9- Panoramic sunroof ( this is not a must have although) Some of the above can be added to lower variants as well with standard 6 airbags. I will buy one today, if they provide these. A sincere Request from car lover
1 Premuim interior 2 gimick features like their connectivity app like Volkswagen connect 3 leather seats in top and end variants 4 memory seats and 360° camera these features Volkswagen need to include in their car if they want to grow
The disappointing things about skoda kushaq are they discontinued the 10 inch infotainment system and no push button start in ambition model, the most value for money as well as the most selling variant...First,they need to understand the requirements the customers have...
It's so TRUE, loved the discussion happened with me as well, went for booking taigun but VW team hardly tried to convince or even call back after I left the showroom... they will definitely leave India in next 5 Years and I can vouch for it. I am now a happy hyundai customer bought creta sx
Skoda is giving 4 years maintenance and 6 years extended warranty. Earlier I was having Yeti . Since 5 years I am having Verna 1.6 AMT . It is good sedan but sold and Yesterday booked , Skoda Slavia Elegance 1.5 TSI with DSG. Skoda 2.0 focusing on services . These are pure performance cars and have GNCAP safety standards . Safety is very important than features! Life hai tu sab hai !
I bought Kushaq 8 months back and if had waited till now then I would have gone for elevate just because of peace of mind and the complete package elevate offers. I love my Kushaq, just last week we traveled 1100km in a single day and didn't even feel slightest of tiredness. I am in love with Kushaq but I would have gone for the Elevate because that vehicle looks like an SUV.
Volkswagen biggest problem is their post sales service in most part of India. Also they do not have showrooms across India. A big part of population doesn't even know about VW brand
You hit the nail on it's head. VW/Skoda need to come out with an automatic micro-SUV in sub 15L budget. People need to see this logo more often on roads in order to get comfortable.
My GT Taigun is 1 yr old. All gates are now noisy on bumps. Breaks are having wired noise on the incline .. AC vents blowing hot air if AC is not on....driver side one touch not working....Light sensors fail under underpass..what you have done with your cars V W😢 Forget about features
Well articulated, we put Rapid on hold to buy Kushaq base model AT, but get disappointed on kushaq rear seat space for 5 and no AT on base model and higher prices.
VW Skoda must come out of Euro Centric approach because this is India. Here they must understand what customer wants not what they want. IF NOT , They will leave India.
I have Taigun 1.0 TSI MT. Test drove Elevate MT today. Elevate is good but still feel my Taigun 1.0 is better as it has more punch. But Elevate is definitely better than Creta/Seltos/Grand Vitara 1.5 NA engines.
VW had a chance to include Panoramic sunroof, 360 camera in their GT Edge cars, but they didn't do it. There is absolutely no difference between regular Taigun GT and GT Edge except the colour and that too they are charging 20k - 40k more for just the colour. I own Taigun GT Edge Deep Black Colour. The only desire for me was if I would have got panoramic sunroof (could have charged 40-50k more). It would have delighted my 5 month old kid who always looks up to the current regular sunroof
Brother I think need to increase service centre and add some features to base and highline model, like LED headlight push start stop button sunroof etc
I also rejected kushaq and taigun because automatic model price start from 17 lakh whereas in grand vitara and elevate i am getting automatic for around 15.5 lakh on road in my state with same amount of features. They should definitely bring automatic in lower variants
the built quality, comfort, overall feel? you must be a dumbass to choose an automatic maruti over a manual vw/skoda every goddamn car enthusiast knows manual is the best it more engaging, gives more feel and is faster at shifting and i don't need to worry about anything no matter how fast i am switching gears
@@ktm7554 ya same problem with them as well .Kia offer imt but for people who need pure automatic on budget then only options are elevate or grand vitara
Before I comment anything on the topic, let me tell a little about myself. I am technically and scientifically inclined person. I do have technical aptitude, i.e., skill set required to do mechanical work on cars and motorcycles. I have owned Ford Figo Diesel 2012 model with turbo-charged CRDi engine and manual transmission. I drove it for 93,000 km in 7.5 years before selling it off. Presently, I own Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Petrol 2019 with N/A petrol engine and manual transmission. Till now, I have driven it for 73,000 km in 4.1 years. Ford has given me decent customer support but service experience of Hyundai is topnotch. Hyundai service personals are very transparent with customer and even train technical inclined customers to do mechanical jobs at home if the customer shows interest. As a result, a special bond of trust builds up between service center personal and customer. Now, coming to the topic: why VW/Skoda cars sale less as compared to Hyundai and Maruti? There are many points and those are well covered in the video. I don't think that I shall be able to add anything new but I take this opportunity to express my thoughts on this matter. First, if a customer requires Service Value Package to get his/her car serviced, don't you think that a potential customer would be least interested to own car from such a brand?? I have reports that some customers have paid close to Rs.15,000/- for regular servicing which is just mind boggling. Such news create a very negative impact in the mind of a potential customer. Secondly, there is no transparency between customer and service personals, i.e., service personal claims that such and such work is done on the car but the non-technical customer has no means to verify it. Thirdly, lack of internal understanding between technically inclined customer and service personal. Let me get this straight. A technically inclined customer would always want to be present by the side of his/her car when the service work on car is going on. It is allowed in Hyundai and Maruti but strictly prohibited in VW/Skoda due to company policy. As a result internal understanding between service personal and the customer never builds. Fourth, TSI engines require much more maintenance and attention than N/A engines. Unfortunately, the service schedule of car do not reflect that. So, these engines are bound to fail prematurely. Let me try to elaborate this point further. The engine oil of TSI/T-GDi engines should be changed after every 8000 km because such engines suffer from oil-dilution problem which leads to increased timing chain wear (Please look into Sequence IX Engine Test: ASTM D8291). In every servicing, the back of intake valves of all cylinders, intake port on the cylinder head and the intake manifold (made of plastic) must be cleaned religiously (Please look Noack Test: ASTM D5800 and TEOST Test: ASTM D6335 & ASTM D7097). This is a time taking and labour intensive process. I have personally visited Skoda service centre and inquired about it and they confirmed me that they don't do it as there is no such directive from the company. Fifth, DSG gearbox must be avoided at all cost. Why? Because the cost of replacing the clutch plates (both even and odd), Flywheel and susequent learning process of the TCU is very expensive, many times more than changing clutch plates of manual gearbox. I am not talking about DSG failure. That's another controversial issue that I do not want to address. In my opinion, DSG/DCT is not meant for congested city use. So, it should be avoided at all cost. Automatic transmissions based on torque converter required much less maintenance (although ATF is costly and big volume of it is required during ATF change) and ideal for congested city use. I would have liked to add more but those are non-technical and are well covered in the video.
I agree to the review. Virtus GT plus 1.5 is great car to drive and still contemplating to purchase. Family thinks interiors are poor, the center console needs to be improved. Suggest launch Virtus GTI (similar to Jetta GTI) with premium interiors and features like ADAS, 360 camera, electronic braking, improve reverse camera pixels - it will be hot selling ! VW will be able to capture the market which miss all this feature. Wish VW success in India - everyone in India is saying we’re okay to pay for adequate feature. Or alternatively allow BUILD YOUR OWN car configuration option. We’ll pay for our own build, VW just has to make it available 😊
Spot on.. Even cars as cheap as 13-14 lakhs, like Astor and other, have height-adjustable seat belts, plush interiors with soft touch points, ADAS, better camera, E. Parking Break, E adjustable seats etc. Safety, DSG and driving dynamics are the plus points of VAG cars, but they shouldn’t ignore these aspects as well.
360 camera, panoramic sunroof and ADAS daal do, i tell you both kushaq and taigun will sell double of what it does, approx 4k units each, it might still not reach seltos level, that will take consistent selling and on road.
Make 1.5 engine more affordable. Maybe sacrifice your margin for volumes. More variants in automatic as you said. Also needs a massy and classy brand ambassador for Indian market.
You people discussed with facts and yes nowadays 360° camera is very important and also tagun length is so small compared to creta or seltos which looks small with less road presence.
Bhai I respect all you three . Skoda and Volkswagen very good brand and they make good built quality car. But you can not sale a car only good built quality. Service center, low maintenance cost, mileage and test of Indian customer. I have Hyundai creta, some days before accidentally an auto hit from back during parking,in a small city I went service center and they replaced my tail lamp cost of 8000 within 4 hours as cashless.can you do same thing with skoda and Volkswagen?
I have VW GT TDI Polo from 2014 and it's Still a Pleasure to Drive that car. I recently bought the Kushaq 1.0 TSI Style Manual as I had to sell my Skoda Rapid 1.5 2014 Model due to Corrupt Pollution Laws . To be fair enough VW SKoda Seriously needs to up their Ante in the Interior Departments , Both the Cars Feel Poor in terms of Interiors . Consider the Fact that I bought Kushaq in March 2023 in Delhi for 16.8 Lakhs and Ismein Wireless Android Apple Car Play tak nahi hai because of Poor Decision Making from SKoda , I bought just because my Father was Adamant to Buy only Skoda as we earlier had Rapid and Skoda VW group needs to Really Improve on this part . Even after Spending 17 Lakhs you are Missing on Big Screen and Wireless Android / Apple which Cars like Brezza are giving in close to 12 Lakhs Moreover the Ground Clearance I feel is a Bit low and should be atleast 210 mm in these Cars ie Taigun and Kushaq . Lastly , Untill and Unless they fail to Bring Polo / Fabia Back and in a Budget around 8-12 Lakhs , We are going to see an Exit for the Company Sooner than Later . The day they decided to Stop Polo , I guess it was the Worst Decision by the Company . People who have owned and Driven the Polo know where that Car stands and Sadly VW Group is not Listening to the Customer Needs and Customer FeedBack .
1. VW should come out of their dream that they are being Apple. 2. start ventilated seats from base variant 3. start automatic variant from base variant 4. put indicators on right side of the steering. 5. wide & better camera quality 6. little leather touch inside on the doors or dashboard. -you will have to bend ur policies according to what customers want because u r not 'Apple'.
Bhai mai Second hand Kushaq 1.0 Lerha hu 2022 August ki hai…. Mai ECP issue ko leke Bahut Jada confused hogya hu. Q ki 2023 ki Cars mai bhi Wo issue aahi Rahe hai…Please Replyy
I own a VW VentoTdi Highline from 10 plus years. I go to test ride the Virtus but just got annoyed when didn't find Auto Up-Down with Anti-Pinch Function. Was this a upgrade really. The moment I get out of the Car and went back happily in My Vento Highline 😢
The main reason that public doesn't consider VW/SKODA is the luck of Showroom & service centre... In Assam, actually in whole North East, there is only one Showroom & Service centre (in Guwahati only) of both the brands...
Big Fan of vw. Had owner of vento dsg, After own A VW cant go to other brand . Polo continues rakhni thee polo nahi karni tthee band. New polo jaldi lani chahiye . SAHI BAAT HAI BASE MEI BHI AUTOMATIC HONA CHAHIYE.
What people don't understand is that India market is not priority for VW. They are not going to make cars just for India and its better to have European designed cars for us customers with better driving dynamics. IMO, it should not be judged just based on numbers alone
Test drove the Taigun Highline 1L AT/TC and Elevate CVT back to back just now with whole family in Mumbai Taigun cost - 1811000 seems over priced. Elevate V model 1587000 Can’t decide which one to finalise?
On point video. The size is the biggest issue for german suv’s. The biggest mistake they done was that they discontinued the legendary polo. Most of the indian market go with budget hatchbacks. They should look into the matter because indian’s now started to like german technology, they have a very good scope to grow in indian market. They already have the best engines, looks and dynamics. They only need to start working on these points. 1. Increase size of their suv’s. 2. Comeback of a sedan like polo. 3. 360 camera and adas like features.
It's actually very simple. VW/deserve a premium for their quality. So, all they need to do is offer exclusive features(ADAS, premium audio, etc.) in their special edition cars charging over 1-2 lacs for these features. A buyer who is paying 20+ Lacs needs features and specs which the Koreans offer. It won't bother to pay 2 lacs more for these additions..
I personally like kushaq(1.0 TSI MT) it gives performance, safety, mileage, looks. but muze lambe samay ke liye car ko rakhna hai(More than 10 year) kya kushaq ko maintain rakhna costly rahega lambe samay me aur kya iska 1.0 TSI turbo engine durable hoga. Ya muze honda elevate consider karna chahiye mileage ko compromise karke. Bcz kushaq save more money as compared to elevate on fuel. But longer time i don't know which car will good for me.?? Please suggest
My primary reason for not considering VW shoda twins is size. When you buy a car of 20 lac segment, it's not only about practicality but also a show off. These cars although good looking, better engineered don't give the feel of owing a big car. That's why people are not selling in good numbers. They should reduce the price to capture buyers of one notch below.
Already booked skoda still have doubt in mind regarding are this company leaving india and rsa support in remote location. Drove all cars and performances is awesome
Yes, size is main reason of Taigun Kushaq's low sales, sb log features ke piche nhi bhagte, but size matters for the most of people, specially when u spend more than 15+ lakhs, coz size se practicality bht badh jati hai.... & another reason is service network, see North East mein sirf ek hi showroom/sc hai jo ki Guwahati mein hai, ab hamare jaise logo ko ye cars pasand hone ke baad v hum isko le nhi skte kyun hamare ghr se guwahati ka distance 450+ km hai.. so aise b bht effect kr raha hai sales mein
VW should have 6 airbags starting from ambition model. Probably customer want to have 1.5 dsg, but leaves this option because of 2 airbags and upper models are expensive.
Big point is they are not targetting the right audience in the right segment, Slavia and virtus should have been targetted for comfort specially better back seat comfort most likely for 3 people and fuel efficiency, Target customers ki percentage automatically badh jaati, Har kisiki regular highway running ki requirement nahi hoti, Fuel efficient car for 5 people with good comfort ( short say 50-100 kms one way) would have been better. You cant make cars like a car enthusiast you ha e to make cars like a business. Ek base ya mid model that is highly customisable would have been enough to satisfy the car enthusiast buyer.
One more thing like local garage mechanics are scared to touch and repair vw cars . This I have got the feedback from few mechanics . Because of complicated engineering
But kuch bhi kaho virtus/slavia chalne k maamle me gazab gaadiya hai Khaas kar automatic Jo gaadi goli ho jaati hai paddle shift down karte he ❤ I love these two car for both performance and looks Combo k maamle me dekhe to they are leading I guess
Kay Sir subah ka vedeo top best SUV may aap ne best Taigun or Kushaq ko behtarin bataya bina soche le lo ab aap hi hataooo kon si segment ki le under 15 lakh please suggest kare.
Bhai 2017 se wait tha T cross ka,ki India me launch ho jae ….Haan ho b gyi Taigun badge k sth but competition k hisaab se VW Walon ne 50% hi kaam kiya…Ashish Gupta jo ki brand Director hain VW k,un se request hai ki jldi se Taigun/Kushaq ko upgrade kre features me💯
Panoramic sunroof is must and thoda sa price kam. And as u said ke servicing cost ko kam kar de like 4-5k for 3years . Mein aaj he le lunga skoda ko to itni pyari car hai wo. Agar ye sab 16-17 lacs mejn aa jaye to
I hv elite i20 ,Now want to upgrade , i m confused bw Seltos n Kushak , family prefer Seltos ,n but I like 1.5 Tsi , but expensive 15L+ Now if i go for 1 liter n want automatic Ambitious trim it's again cost the same 15+
Very important is customer service, I was traveling from Bangalore to Hyderabad, a polo hit my Creta from behind near Gooty. My bumper got slight damage, but the polo front got completely damaged. I called Hyundai, within 20 to 30 kms i had Anantapur and Kurnool service centre, but for VW the service centre is in Bangalore or Hyderabad, when he called them there blunt answer was tow the vehicle and come to either of the city. No empathy towards the customer
VW/Skoda also need to improve their customer connect and responsiveness. I went to a skoda showroom, waited for almost 30-40 mins before someone attended, i took a test drive also (awesome to drive, no questions about that) but nobody did any follow up for 20-25 days even though i told the manager very clearly that i am looking to buy a car urgently. Sometimes customer need some convincing too, a little push a gentle offer. And yes considering the price of AT top model the interior was not that good, features like 360 camera, power seat adjuster, panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake, TPMS are missing. Size looks small for its cost.
I think Skoda VW should be confident about their DSG gearbox. 40-50% are not going for GT plus is because of reliability. They should come up and convey this message that DSG is not unreliable(hope this fact is true). Irony : We 4 friends , other 3 excluding me are pure car enthusiast , they all went for 1.0. Only I have gone for GT plus :p
As per brand director there are two types of enthusiastic people 1. Who think themselves as enthusiast 2. Who are enthusiast 1.0 buyers are the who think themselves as enthusiast
Mereko polo leni thi 1 litre abb mere jaise customer kya kar sakte hai, jisko vw ne option hi nahi diya abb, i think vw should relaunch vw polo chahe 80k jyada leke launch karde still it is going sell
First they need find solution for AC in 1 litre turbo model and second their mileage is very low for 1 litre automatic. I experience in local traffic its always around 6-8 km per litre.. its very low even with 1 litre turbo.
The kind of hidden, unknown features vag cars give in this price point no one can give and only FCA and Ford, general motors can give that build quality, the frame of the car is ultimate and that's the reason why it gets five stars and max points in safety
Simple reason is they are expensive and don't have offer much features. Apart from 1.5L which has a USP of performance. 1.0L AT starts at cost 17L to 18L on road, even base variants comes with many feature misses which can't be added later. They compete with other brands like they Honda, Suzuki, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai which have trust of people that VW don't it terms of relaibility.
Unless VAG offers 1.5 TSI MT or Auto Gearbox TC or DSG from Base variant their Sales nos. will not increase. And if their Road presence does not improve their Sales will not increase to great extent. Present rise in Sales nos. are due to big discounts VW is offering on Taigun. Which proves Taigun & Virtus both are pricier than competition offerings. Honda Elevate 1.5 will surely dent Taigun-Kushaq Sales nos. for sure because of good pricing against 1.0 TSI Engine offerings.
