Most important thing is peace of mind, if you have a low expectations and develop a detached attitude towards things and people, you would automatically have a peace of mind which leads a quality sleep with a short duration of time. These are through my experience
Now I know why I can't sleep without the fan on, even with AC :) Btw, can reading something in low light help in falling asleep? Can that fall under relaxation techniques.
Blue light is bad for you, so have a blue light filter to read. Read at your desk and not your bed. Totasl darkness is best when you are going to sleep (with the whole melatonin issue).
