@@CatmanJimbo I have only so much time that I can either make synth demos or stack the synths up to post pictures of them on the Internet - which do you choose?;)
Amazing sounds and playing as usual. You have a unique creative mind to say the least! I’m wondering if you’d ever buy and make a video of a synth without patch memory, since it kind of goes outside your model of creating patch banks to sell and demoing them in your videos. I’m curious what you would do with a semi modular synth like a Matriarch or Cascadia, but perhaps that is outside of your wheelhouse?
I made some demos of memoryless synths in the past, so it's doable;) But there's just so many new synths with memory and the have the priority on my list. There's something stressful about the fact that I can't save my work and all the effort that goes with it. Thanks for the kind words anyway:)
Having tried all the big 3 6-voice Sequential synths and the Rev2, do you think the price jump / voice & mod matrix plummet is worth it? Can an enterprising programmer wring more from a Rev2, or is the base sound of the bigger siblings just unbeatable?
This is the kind of question that could be debated thru 10 pages on a synth forum with no real answer at the end;) I'll say this: it's never a question of worth. It doesn't matter, it's purely subjective. The objective reality is that you will either like the sound & the workflow of a synth or you won't. The only way to know that is to try all the synths in question. Borrow, buy, return, whatever. Allocate 4 or 5 hours per day for this new synth and tweak it inside out for the next 5 or 6 days, max 2 weeks. If you cannot get it to "sound right" and you've discovered some interface peculiarities that frustrate you - move on. This is not the synth for you:)
@@JexusProbably the best and most well reasoned advice I have seen anywhere for buying any synth on the market. The only caveat to that is it probably won’t work perfectly well for first time or very new synth buyers since they have yet to develop a feel for synth workflows and an ear for what sounds most pleasing to them in their own studio or playing space.
@@Jexus as in will you keep it forever, or is this a borrowed unit? I know sometimes you sell gear to buy other gear so that's why I am asking, if you think the synth is that good you would keep it?
@@JexusLike, if Celine Dion or someone decided to do something a little bit different this tour. What if she was like, "I'd like to sing over someone jamming out some synth patches, for this tour, and I want that too be you." I'd want to go to that show! But then I'd see the ticket price, and skip it, as usual, but it would still sell out.
Che tristezza questo uomo che recensisce per la maggior parte sintetizzatori ipercostosi inavvicinabili ai più e prende regolarmente in giro nei suoi video la gente che finisce a rovistare nella spazzatura. Tutto per guadagnare con la vendita di patches che con un po' di studio ognuno potrebbe creare da sé.
