You can reuse the jam jar’s to store paper clips, pins, needles, or diy mini candles for your home. I am in the process of learning candle making. I recently made a teacup candle. I purchased a vintage teacup at goodwill for 69 cents. ☺️

I just found your channel, and love how you speak so passionately about your Faith. I thank you for your review of the Eternals, and as I share your Faith, I have decided not to watch it. As you say, there are plenty of beautiful stories that Disney could tell, without resorting to what they have done in this film. And your book vlog and recommendations are exquisite. 😊💜👩‍🎨😁

I just adore your reading vlogs Emma! 💕 So much to say! First off I have added Down the Garden Path to my tbr. It sounds so good. You also have been inspiring me to read Dante since you have been talking about him on your vlogs. Those Lintzer cookies look amazing and boy oh boy Cymbeline is getting so big! 🙀 I totally understand how you feel about the Eternals. Yikes 😓 I definitely won’t be watching it. Some of what you said reminds me of problems I have with His Dark Materials. I don’t understand why they have to make God ‘bad’. 😖 *sigh* I look forward to catching up with your videos! Thanks for brightening my day with your enthusiasm and passion xx

Love this Video Emma - Your kitty is so cute and adorable - I don’t make my Kitty get down if I am eating or drinking something I let him and I will put him in my lap and he will stay there. If a Kitty starts to get near you then your Kitty was attention and wants to be held and in your lap. ❤️🐾🐱🐾🤗❄️☃️😎☕️❤️

I always love watching your reading vlogs- they’re so fun and always inspire me to make some more time for reading. For your TBR jars I’d like to recommend The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa- it’s a translated novel and it’s very quiet and reflective, I’d also like to recommend some Shirley Jackson if you haven’t tucked into her books (my personal favourite is we have always lived in the castle). Finally if you’re looking for a fun light read I’d recommend the way of the House Husband- it’s a manga and it’s about a stay-at-home husband who used to be in a gang and it’s so sweet and funny 😊 I hope you had a wonderful January and an even better February

Thank you for sharing this video with us! I have the same Belle’s animator’s collection house! 🌹 it’s so sad to see the Disney company fall into the devil’s work. It seems that the writers and executives are more than willing to dive into evil lately. I found similar theme s in Loki’s show, the writers kept promoting that no one has free will. It seems that they are playing right into the devils plan. However, I keep looking at all of the good stories full of hope and love. There is still hope that the company and the people who are choosing that path to turn around and do good again. God sees all and knows what they are doing. On a happier note, I’m really excited to join the Febregency readalong! Thank you for sharing these great book ideas! The cookies look so yummy! 🫖 🍪

I’ve wanted to read Beverly Nichols for a LONG time. ♥️ He sounds so hilarious and the language. 😍 Cymbeline is a bit rascal-y! 😂🐈Good thing she’s so cute! I’m slowly moving forward in Dante. I don’t have all the notes, so I do google things. So far, fascinating! I love the sparkles on the snow. ♥️ I adore sky and sunsets, too, and your video is BEAUTIFUL. I love Shadows on the Rock, too!!! 🥰 I have memories connected to it because I finished it on a trip with my family which we took right before covid hit in early 2020. Thank for sharing your thoughts on the Marvel movie! Yikes! 😳😩 My Christian faith is so important to me as well. ♥️ I recommend A Lantern In Her Hand and my favorite, it’s sequel, A White Bird Flying by Bess Streeter Aldrich.

Okay based on this reading vlog you have firmly convinced me to pick up Dorothy Sayers' translation of Divine Comedy (I've been trying to figure out what translation to read for a long while now). I am trying to determine though whether there are audio editions of her translations or not because recently I've only been listening to audiobooks and so whether there are audio versions of this or not will determine how soon I buy and read them. This was such a great reading vlog Emma, it seems you have had a wonderful reading month and I loved seeing Cymbeline and the baking and skating too 😄.

I’m a relatively new subscriber (I joined a few weeks back). I too am of the Catholic religion. Though not perfect, I try to lead a good life and I’m mindful what I watch and listen to. I’m not into Marvel movies myself, but I understood your feedback about the movie you watched. I really liked the nature images you shared, the skating on the ice and your cute cat. The biscuits you made looked delicious and very pretty with the love heart. I enjoyed your book reads too. I like the idea of planting late in the season so flowers bloom in the Winter. Beverley Nichols book sounds like a pleasant and inspiring read, as does Dante’s third book on Paradise. You asked a question about a book recommendation. I bought a book not so long ago based on a recommendation from someone on another RU-vid channel. The book is called, ‘The Suitcase’ by the Russian writer Sergei Dovlatov. I bought it online. It’s only 128 pages long. A quick and thought provoking read. Regarding books I’ve read. I’ve recently finished, ‘The Year Of Less’, by Cait Flanders and ‘Northanger Abbey’ by Jane Austen. My aim in 2022 is to read the six Jane Austen books this year. Two per month. Because ‘Northanger Abbey’ was a thin book I’m ahead in my reading. I’m now up to ‘Emma’. Thank you for another enjoyable video. I subscribed to your blog newsletter. Look forward to receiving this and watching your next video ❄️🥣🥚🐈📚

I haven't seen the Eternals but it sounds like the writers were atheists (like me). It seems like they've taken things from religion and used them because they lump everything in with "fantasy" but in doing so it sounds like they've been quite offensive to religious people. While I don't believe in religion, I think they should have been a lot more thoughtful. It's made me think a lot about my own use of religion and faith in my own writing (I write YA fantasy). For example, I fully believe that we don't owe our creators (and in my beliefs that means our parents) anything but I never realised how this comes across to Christians etc
@BookishPrincess
@BookishPrincess 2 года назад
I appreciate your thoughts and perspective! Yeah, it was disappointing to see such a one-sided message from Marvel which has a wide audience, many of whom are believers and also many families with kids and teenagers. When you’re young, you’re still figuring out what belief means, and it’s very frustrating to see entertainment aimed at younger audiences that has this underlying message that faith is bad or unimportant or should automatically be written off or rejected. That’s not true, and it’s also not promoting respect or tolerance.
@katxl7
@katxl7 2 года назад
I agree that we don’t owe our creators (parents in my case as well), because we never asked to be born but we should be good to them anyways. The Eternals is terrible for a lot of reasons but not because of its creation story, that part was actually sort of interesting.
@jackiesliterarycorner
@jackiesliterarycorner 2 года назад
The show Supernatural tackled God and the Devil. God is a jerk in the show and he treats us like a television. I love the show and I like how the explore Christian "mythology", but the plot with God gave me conflicted feelings.
@BookishPrincess
@BookishPrincess 2 года назад
It’s always a difficult thing to get right when show writers venture into that territory, and it’s disappointing when a show that is otherwise clever and interesting gets the fundamentals wrong! Seeing it so bare-faced in the Marvel movie was especially jarring.
@jackiesliterarycorner

@@BookishPrincess It's definitely a risky territory. Maybe they assume that people watching wouldn't be people who would care. Of course, Hollywood doesn't care as long as they get viewership.
