What are the fines for overstaying? I can’t find a definitive list. We were trying to get residency, it got rejected, and couldn’t leave within the ten 10 days. We’ll be Leaving on the 17th March. That’s 12 days over from the date of the letter. But our original visa expired on the 3rd of December 22. So now I’m really confused about what needs to be paid! Any ideas? Thanks

Hi is it harder for people to get accepted from certain countries and easier for people to get accepted from certain countries like the UK etc where the currency is strong? Is this true? Thanks

Good information,,what about thoes if mother coming with one younger kid to drop,see off and settle another child who got university admission.. For it if mother rent a appartment apply for touristic trc for her self and younger child with student residence permit for other..Will she get touristic trc in this case?

The same is happening in Izmir. I have been here 2 years and 6 months with no problems. Suddenly they're not allowing foreigners to stay any longer. I was told that lots of foreigners have been "abusing" their ikhamet...but the real reason seems to be because Tayip wants to be seen as strong on immigration before the upcoming elections due to the rising anger in the Turkish population over large numbers of refugees and migrants from neighbouring countries. I was told today that I have 10 days to leave Turkey, where I have a rental agreement, a partner and my cat/whole life. Unless of course I can spend $75,000...which I can't.
