This excerpt is from Wolfsbane by Guy Hayley. I listened to the audiobook version of this recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Russ tends to annoy me in other books, but in this one it felt like he was finally fleshed out properly, and this scene is just... 👨🍳👌 I HAD to perform it.
As the Sons of Horus and Space Wolves fight, we get to see a glimpse at an uncorrupted Horus Lupercal, and he and Leman Russ share a brief moment of pause in the heat of battle. It's pretty sad when you remember how Horus was in Horus Rising and False Gods.
