For spec like this, using 1024x600 lock 40hz/fps custom resolution should works great to play old AAA title like Crysis 3, call of duty mw3, Shadow of War, Darksiders 2, Lost Planet 2 and etc

Wow the delivery time appears long to me. Christmas is still far. Until it is suddenly tomorrow and not all Christmas shopping is done 😁 Seems Ayn has a big request for their products. I love games from back then. That's the timeframe I more or less stopped regularly gaming and didn't buy that many games anymore. That's the perfect age of games for this device. They should run mostly fine.

@@tianonly I do too. I also feel like lightweight games are better suited to the handheld experience, I've got consoles and a PC for the higher end stuff which I find more suitable. The zero for me is about the games I am nostalgic for, that I can take on small trips. I don't want large sprawling RPGs that have days of content, I want to be able to go on a plane or a train and play Simpsons Hit and Run for a few hours!

This console has the same chip as the win600. so u should watch some of those videos on RU-vid. It can handle 360 era titles perfectly. Even some ps4 games but on 480p low. This has better ergonomics than the win600 with a cheaper price. Enjoy it ! I wanted one so I can play my smaller epic game titles on it rather than fill up my steam deck . Happy holidays

Thanks. This device is perfect for my steam pile of shame😃 At the moment I record gameplay for games viewer asked on the comments to try out. Older titels like Castle Vania Lord of Shadows. But I myself had lost myself completly in Nexomon Extinction during the holidays. It was part of a humblebundle😅

How was the thermals, fan sound, and battery life averages for different tdps?

the fan kicks in and you can feel the deive gettng hand warm after a while. But so far the fan was not louder than the sound of the game. So far I haven't had the time to play a game in one piece. But when I had tested and filmed the individual games, the device ran above 3 hours.

Can you test the performance when streaming such as gamepass or even local streaming with moonlight or steam link?

I do have GeForce Now and could "test" it. But I am not sure about what result you expect when I stream games? Because you could stream a game on a potato and have a 60fps 1080p gaming experience if your internet connection is fast enough. That's actually the whole purpose behind game streaming. Perhaps I misunderstood you, and in this case I would like to apologize. Or do you want me to stream the game from the Ayn Loki Zero to another device?

Although I didn't really intend to, I connected my device to my 5Ghz Wifi for you and streamed a game of Hot Shots Racing via GeForce Now (I have a founders account). It ran beautifully. Even the rumbling function of the controller worked. The only thing is that without a mouse, i.e. only with the touchscreen, the GeForce Now app is no fun to use.😁

@@tianonly thank you. I was more interested in this devices form factor so the loki zero is more interesting that the loki max, as i intend to only use it as a streaming device. I may actually pick it up to replace my steam deck for streaming. I really appreciate you going out of the way to test the streaming.

My girlfriend asked me to check for her if this was a good device. She plans to play like visual novels and such. So I think performance wise it's a solid yes. How are the haptics? Do the buttons feel good?

The device is solidly built. Nothing creaks or wobbles. It feels good in the hand and it is not to heavy, too (582g). The buttons can be pressed well. They are a bit smoother than e.g. the XBox360 gamepad, but still offer a pleasant feedback.

@@tianonly 582g is quite heavy tho, my hands get tired and sore after an hour of holding my Switch lite an that's 277g, like half the weight, or maybe it's because Switch Lite doesn't have the most comfortable shape, this one looks way comfier in the hand, and the back paddles are a nice addition in the low price point

@@CrocoDylianVT I think whether something is perceived as heavy or not so heavy is very individual. I had a 400g light Game Gear when I was a child and don't remember to not playing it because it was to heavy for me to hold it. And I hope nowadays I am more strong then when I was a child😁. But that's me, other have different experiences. That is why it is important that the companys who produce handheld devices tell the real weight. Lucky us, it makes no weight different if the battery is fully charged or empty. My Game Gear was heavier with batteries not to talk about the weight with the extended battery pack😅😅

Originally I wanted to use the device purely offline and transfer gog.com games from my main computer using a usb flashdrive. However, since viewers had asked how games performe that I only have on Steam, I now use Steam to install games. The Epic Gamestore also works. Or game streaming with GForce Now or Amazon Luna or whatever It's a normal x86 PC with a standard Windows 11.

Thats a very good question. I left most of the settings untouched as they where after installing the game. Those I did changed I showed in the video.

Hi can you test Serious Sam HD The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD The Second Encounter, Serious Sam BFG, Wolfenstein (2009), DOOM 3 (2005), Half Life 2 (2004), Black Mesa (Half-Life 1 Remake), Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (2010), Left 4 Dead (2008) and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (2007). These are old games that I think worth playing if it performs well on this device. Thank you.

i tried the Serious Sam Games. I installed them from Steam. For Serious Sam HD FE, in Full HD, and autodeteced performance settings (CPU Speed: medium; GPU Speed: low and GPU memory: medium). At the demo level Karnak: No stabel 60fps! But rarely below 50fps. Playable and I would guess in 720p even better. For Serious Sam HD SE at 1280x720 and autodected performance settings (CPU SPeed: medium; GPU Speed: low and GPU memory: lowest). At Survival level ben on sand - for the 20seconds I stayed alive I did not see the fps drop below 60😁 For the campaing on normal difficulty it was more stabel than First Encounter. But I have to say, the ingame fps counter is quite small and I didn't get very far. I am not the best for first person shooters and playing with a gamepad, which worked wonderfully, didn't increase my skill. For Serious Sam 3 BFE again at 1280x720 (I did lower it) and autodeteced performance settings (CPU speed: lowest; GPU speed: medium (customized) and GPU memory: lowest). At the loading screen it was at not stabel 30fps, sometimes low as 14 fps. In the campaign Summer in Cairo at normal difficulty. Without enemies the fps soometims gone up to 40 but otherwise it was hard fighting with 30fps and below. For the other games I will come back later. I don't have Wolfenstein (2009) and CoD 4 Modern Warfare I did install the Demo. Let's see, after I tried them I will tell you the results.

@@baddmeeloo Call of Duty 4 MW runs at a resolution of 1024x768 at inconsistend fps. Outsite around 45 to 60 fps. In buildings it sometimes goes above 100fps. But that is only for the first level. In general the game is unplayable because it does not support gamepads. At least the demo I tried doesn't.

The usb-c port supports display output, so generally yes. But as the usb-c port is on the bottom of the device it is not that handy if you have a dock that was designet with for example the Steam Deck in mind (USB-C Port on the top of the device).

Did you ordert it on indiegogo? Or do you wait for it to be in regular store? The specs with the Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2 and up to 16GB DDR5 Ram looks very nice. But for me I am not sure what for? Android Games? I don't know when I did play games on my phone which needed any of the power my phone provides. Game Streaming? Well, you don't need that much power for stream games. So whats left? Emulation. The early bird price is 350 Euro. Quite a lot money for just another emulation device. I am not willing to spend that much for so limit use. The benefit of the x86 Handheldgaming devices is, in theorie, you could use them as a desktop too. Controlling android with keyboard and mouse is a pain. At least if its not designed for it like the ready for from Motorola (I love it on my G200) or whatever it was called from Samsung.

Some people mention they have a ayn provided icc color profile on their other loki models. Can test if Zero has it? Search for color management, open it then "add" in the default device tab to see if there is any profile named AynXXXX.

@samh5886 Gee, you've given me quite a task there. It was damn difficult to recognize anything on this small high-resolution screen. But I can report accomplishment. However, in the device tab the "add" was grayed out. In the All Profiles tab, however, there is an AYN1805... profile listed under ICC Profiles.

Btw this device can run GTA 5 at 30fps to 40fps with low graphics mod on 720p it doesn't make it look great but honestly It is still very enjoyable Also you can do the same for borderlands 2

that's cool to know, thank you. But I think it's more for enthusiasts who want to squeeze the last bit out of the device. For example, for parents who just want a cheap device for their kids to switch on and start playing, I don't think it's something you can or should attract them to buy. Even I myself am too lazy for such tweaking measures in everyday life. It's fun for tinkering around such things, if I find the time for it🙃

@@tianonly I understand I agree its device is geared towards older games 2010 and under or retro inspired games that one of the reasons I got it is to play my more simple games PS2 and indie games mostly like doom wads it's a it's a niche device but can definitely pull off some amazing stuff for the price

How well does Fortnite run, if it does run at all, cmas right now my only two ways of playing Fortnite on the go are my Switch Lite (30 FPS) or my phone (stutters make it unplayable)

Fortnite is unplayable. I gave up on it. Setting the resolution is a mess. It might be that the screen of the Loki Zero is a panned portrait lcd. However, at 720p and everything on low the device is fighting with mid 20s fps. Sometimes 30 fps but mostly below and it is no fun at all
