Wilson Blade V9 tennis rackets are one of the best frames you can buy in years. They have great feel, control, spin, power, stability and comfort. But are they also made that good? I will answer this question in todays quality control test. Hi Tennis Guy! Another great breakdown/ analysis… You were the first racket evaluator to praise the V9 Blade 100.Now, many others from Europe and Australia have jumped on board with your conclusions … I have been hitting with the Shift 99 16x20… I like the racquet because it is maneuverable and it’s helps me with spin. However, I’m basically a flat hitter and I need a bit more control…. So, the Blade v9 100 might be the perfect world for me. I decided to go for it when TW launches the Blade 100 on March 15. But, I will have a racquet technician go through a batch to ensure that I get one on spec. All the best to you, my friend…. and thank you … ciao, John

Hi John! From what I've seen on youtube so far almost everyone is very happy about the new Blades V9. This gives me confidence in my recommendation to buy this new version if you feel lost in todays tennis racket world. The Blades V9 feel like the best safe bet now and the nice bonus is that they really perform on the highest level. So it's not just another easy hitting frame. This frame works also in critical moments and gives you exactly what you deserve and what you want + there is always a room for players innovation and addition on the performance side. This comes from someone who never was a huge Wilson fan so I hope people will take this as a big compliment, too. Thanks for your nice words and constant support. Great video Michale!! The 18X20 version´s (over) weight is also caused by the 18x20 pattern - more strings means more grams so the plain racquet without strings might not be that off with weight. But anyway....generally the QC from Wilson is questionable.....if I put it in a gentle way

Thank you 😉 Yeah I know that and I'm always talking about this. The extra 3 strings can be around 1,5 g more. It's not that much actually but people should count with it.

That kind of QC negates all the effects of a new version's improvements/novelties. It is as if all the manufacturing facilities of these companies are bribed by Yonex so that the latter shines with its QC. However testing a sample rather than single unit would be statistically more meaningful.

I’ve had very good luck with Wilson QC vs Head, Babolat and Princes. U might wanna measure racquets again after rotating them 180degrees. I’ve come across certain frames weight distribution isn’t exactly symmetrical and I’d get a couple units difference in SW after rotating. I usually just split the difference.

I have tried this many times before and I've got the same results most of the times. I remember I was getting just a 1 point difference with one or two rackets I've measured. This difference is so small that it doesn't make sense to test it in my opinion.

@@CzechTennisGuyGood point. I wish I have your SW machine. Right now I use the SW1 the mounting position can introduce some variation too if racquet face isn’t exactly vertical. If those were my racquets with the out of spec strung weights I’d return them for sure.

I bought two v9 18/20 one was 305 and the other was 306 both without strings obviously, not to bad but the balance of the heavier was less head light that on paper should be , in other words they are two different racquets at the end and needs to be customized…

Luxilon alu power or luxilon adrenaline for the blade v9

I've tested the rackets with ALU Power and it felt great. I know Luxilon Adrenaline from my past when I received a 200m reel from someone and I really enjoyed that string a lot. But it was too expensive for me to continue using it on a regular basis.

What is one swing weitht point in terms of balance. Is it 3mm?

Good question. That's something you would have to measure for every racket independently. I can try it on some rackets.

My blade v9 98 16x19 is 303g (without strings) not to bad.

The 100 is baffling. Otherwise with the 98 16x19 I would rather have it the other way round. 5 grams more overall and 5mm head lighter in the balance.

You should do this without string, that's how you normally do, as the string's weight differs.

I do it almost always with strings only because I receive these rackets for a review strung. Only time to time I receive them unstrung and that's of course the best way how to do it. But I can't afford restringing a tennis racket just because of this video, it would be too expensive for me and time consuming. Maybe later when I get "bigger" on youtube I can afford it. @@CzechTennisGuy Sure, I understand this. Anyway, I enjoyed your video, keep on. I play the V8 100 version with 3grams in the grip and 2grams in the head at 3 and 9. I tested the V9 yesterday and it feels a bit stiffer, apart from that not such a big difference. I assume with the lead on my V8 I have the same power. My SW without string is 300 btw.

@@robertstolzenburgramos3051 Thank you. So your racket is now around 330 SW strung I think, because strings almost always add another 25-30 SW points. That's a beast for a 100 version. 💪

@@CzechTennisGuy Great racket for sure. Don't know if I make the switch to the V9. With the lead my V8 is a bit more stable and the higher SW brings a bit more power. I assume that the V9 wouldn't change that much and the rackets are so expensive nowadays.

@@robertstolzenburgramos3051 Just wait couple of months or a year, the price will go down and make the switch later. The V9 is really exceptional in my opinion and it's worth it. But of course you don't always need to have the newest gear on the market and panic like you are missing on something revolutionary. Saving money and resources is always a good thing.

I would say this is the case for most of the tennis racket brands these days. I would say Wilson is just more "visible" than others. But the comparison is spot on.
