Hi Joel! I don’t know if you’ve ever heard about the app We Read Too, but it’s basically an app which was created to help people find books from authors of color with poc characters. It has really great features and I love that I can find books which aren’t as advertised (especially in my country) and so I can support such wonderful authors! I thought you would also like it and you could find there books and fall in love with them❤️

a note on a gathering of shadows (as i assume you'll read it prior to a conjuring of light) - many people found agos to be slow, because a lot of the book follows a competition and not much actual "action" so to speak, however I found it to be a beautiful book for worldbuilding and "what ifs," and its honestly my favorite book in the trilogy. i hope you end up enjoying agos and acol.

Love your book series binge vlog and I’m so excited for your Shades of Magic one!!!! For future series recommendations, I highly recommend The School for Good and Evil series (6 books). It’s Middle Grade and very fast paced.

i am one of those people who was kind of disappointed in the secret history. i mean i gave it 4 stars but i expected more from it because of the hype. it is donna tartt so the writing style can make up for a lot of things. if you ask me i personally think the goldfinch is better i enjoyed it a lot more and it became one of my favourite books of all time. the secret history has some really really good parts but for me something was missing from it and i couldn't connect with the characters. however it still vividly lives on my mind like anything what tartt writes.

Apart from continuing my read of book 2 in the Daevabad trilogy, I'll be rereading my fav Halloween book ever: House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig and I would really recommend that one! Other books I'll try to read or finish this month are : - Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie - The slow regard of silent things by Patrick Rothfuss - Kiki's delivery service by Eiko Kadono - Cemetery Boys (depending on when this order arrives) by Aiden Thomas thanks for your recommendations!

Hi! Little bit of extra info on Black and British from someone who works at waterstones, if anyone is interested - it was actually requested by teachers and parents that the author make a shorter, easier-to-read version of the larger book so that this can be used in schools! So this is actually a good read for younger readers who are looking to become more informed, as well! In so freaking excited for you adsom reading vlog as well, i qctually have the same collectors adittions as well, because i hated my uk paperback covers 😅 for a series reading vlog next month you should totally read the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K Jemisin, I'm on book 2 and it's honestly one of the best series I've ever read.

For a mystery thriller I really recommend The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton! It's so clever, and kind of has a fantasy element in it as well. This month I am hopefully going to read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman, but I also have a lot of uni reading to do, so we'll see... (a bit random, but we have the same timetable btw, hahah)

For adult thrillers I recommend all of Riley Sager's books. I know some might suggest Stephen King, but sometimes with him he's a hit or a miss with me, but I know that his older works like Carrie, It, Pet Cemetery, and Salem's Lot were really good and scary or spooky. He also writes big books. Or start with the classics like Dracula, Frankenstein, House on Haunted Hill, Phantom of the Opera, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, or Rebecca. This is off the top of my head because I have only come back to reading at the end of last year. Life happened, but am glad to be back reading and am hoping to get back into reading thrillers, but other books recommended to me by you and other booktubers. Enjoy your books! 😊❤️❤️❤️

One of my favourite thriller books is The Tattoo Thief by Alison Belsham ! It's set in Britain (Brighton), has an amazing female lead character and is pretty gruesome - it also has an absolutely gorgeous cover that you'll probably love lol I haven't heard anyone talk about it on booktube before so it would be super exciting if you read it!

Fictional Fates Friday is the best! I was very excited to see people of color nonfiction reads on your TBR because I’m reading How to Be Antiracist right now before I get into all the spooky books. I’m not a horror or thriller reader at all but I’m reading Stalking Jack the Ripper and Sadie this month. I’m also very excited for Cemetery Boys, Mooncakes and to re-read Diviners!!
