When she says the phone’s “packed up”, she means it’s broken, not actually packed away. Fellow Scot here, and thats how we explain something that breaks 😂
That's also TMI, or too revealing, for the question. I never call my old phones broken. Kind of embarrassing that I've cracked or broken all my phones lol
Fellow Scot here🖐 I have just began watching and was thinking she sounds Scottish. I am living in the capital city of Edinburgh. I've been here around 10 years now ❤
I love Scottish accents, but this woman makes me want to drive nails with my forehead! I heard someone say she has a unique dialect, so I get that, but it sounds like she speaks uniquely even considering this. The moans and very drawn out words is unbearable!

Incorrect - 3 is the right number. Your phone, a phone to stalk, plus a phone to stalk yourself on so you can play the victim to police. You must be an amateur at this
She has a very grandiose sense of self, she bigs up her importance and the people she knows to make herself seem better than anyone else, this is often seen in people with personality disorders.
On one of her FB posts she wrote that Gadd “constantly gave her free drinks” but in the interview she said he never gave her a free drink. She’s a pathological liar who forgets what she’s lied about!
She only met him 2-3 times.......yet, halfway through the interview, she believes the 350 voicenails could have been recorded by Gadd in the Hawley Arms........she must've been there for a long time for him to record her that many times!
@@cathryncharette1224 Exactly..so then she would have seen her 😂 They were talking about how the actress looks like her and she says she has never seen the actress before.
Baby Reindeer was THE BEST THING Netflix has done, great series couldn't stop watching from start to finish, didn't get dressed that day, didn't brush my hair, just vegged, ate popcorn GREAT SHOW Y'ALL
She said that it was just a few and that the evidence would show that. Now an MP is demanding the emails from Netflix and he told the BBC that there is no evidence of her being convicted of stalking. The problem is a Nestflix exc testified under oath to a parliamentary committee that she was. That would be contempt of parliament. A crime. We may soon know whether Netflix can provide thousands of emails to parliament. If not, someone may be going to prison. If they lied about her conviction, they could well be lying about it all. Gaad, like many authors may have based characters on people he knew and then created a fictional story in which they commit murder or other crimes.
I disagree with many of the takes here. People need to keep in mind she's a lawyer, if you've ever watched many lawyers on the stand(which is essentially what she's doing here), they speak in many of the same patterns you see her having here, the long pauses and thinking hard before she speaks in how she forms the response. Obviously she's not being honest about everything, nobody is, but I believe she's more honest than she is deceptive.
Why were you expecting that? Your assumption. She said she sent less than 10. Listen to what she does say and not what you ( with your own bias) expect her to say.
@@bennypit4411 She's sucked you in, she is mentally disturbed individual. She staled before, her ex Boss fired her for not behaving, she thinks she's SO clever all she has to do is deny and be believed, Piers has her number, he won't let her know that. I agree she is smart/cunning but she really, IMO besides trying to sue ALL the emails and letters can and will be checked out. She will trip up although she will ALWAYS blame others for her faults. The guys will continue their evaluation, I will be all ears. Everyone has their own opinions, that's fine but she knows how to con people. 🙄😳🇦🇺🐨🦘
the fact that she is taking Netflix to court and showing up on TV is her way of ramping up the stalking behavior. She is now adding an entire TV network to her list of victims.
If someone is recording you in a bar, on their Dictaphone 😆, it's going to sound VERY different than someone leaving a voicemail!! How ridiculous was that???!!!! 😂😂
Little personal detail...She has been calling a local business owner I know here in Scotland 3 times a week for the last 3 years and she has never even met this person so I have no doubt the poor woman is unwell. I do think Netflix are not covered in glory here as far as duty of care goes. She was immediately identifiable.
@@maresasegura2867 I had a stalker when I was in my shop every time I started within 1 minute of my shift I’d get a call of the sexual nature . I wound him up one day and at a crucial point for him I blew a police whistle - very loud done the phone . After that I never heard from them again 😂😂
@@markspark7634 lol..The business to date has not commented on their socials publicly so I'm not naming them as I'm a customer ( not just fancying a thrice weekly 'chat'😂) If they do though I will come back and put it up here👍 Going to watch this all now. Can't wait to hear the analysis!
I didn’t even request this because I knew you’d be getting a million of them anyway. What an incredible interview to break down! Have a ball with this one, gentlemen 😂
Same! Figured they got bombarded with this one, so I've just been waiting. I can't wait to see which clips they've picked with SO much going on the entire interview! Thanks TBP!
she's not hiding her grades, Scottish univerities give honours degrees (4 years) which are graded (1st, 2.1, 2.2 etc.) and ordinary degrees (3 years) which are not graded, she clearly says she has an ordinary degree, Piers doesn't understand the system and she is confused because she keeps telling him she got an ordinary degree and he keeps asking a question she can't possibly answer any differently. Oh and Action Man could beat GI Joe with one hand tied behind his back.
As a Scottish person I can say that it would be common speak here to say ‘gave me death threats’ or ‘gave them death threats’. Definitely heard this in conversation many times and I have said it about others myself.
So I went onto Facebook profile and I looked at her posts. Now mind you this is definitely her real one as it is years old. On 3 May she made 116 posts which excluded posting pictures of reposts of articles/music links etc. On 2 May she made 67 posts. On 1 May she made 90 posts and on 29 April she made 76 posts. I got bored counting after that. However if you can see that over the course of four days that’s 349 posts then you can absolutely imagine how she sent somebody she is obsessed with 41k of emails!
I’ve been on her profile too - I am convinced she is a stalker, she has no insight at all about her behaviour and is justifying that behaviour to herself. She is clever, but she’s a deeply troubled individual
I have no doubt she did exactly what Richard said she did. I know that there is a note at the end of the show, that some details where made up or changed but I have no doubt she made his life hell for a number of years…
I think that she genuinely doesn’t see what she is doing. Almost like a sort of mental block she has placed over herself and this sort of obsessive compulsive behavior. A normal person who has been accused of stalking, very publicly, and sending thousands upon thousands of emails, letters, messages, voicemails etc plus the accusation of harassment of more than just the one person would look at things like how many posts on fb, X could be counted and perceived. She doesn’t appear to have this introspection. Rather it’s a lot of logorrhea!
When she said her phone 'packed up' thats a British colloquialism, which means it broke. Not that she packed it to move, and I'm surprised mark didn't catch that.
i think she has a lot of people confused because the 'packed up' phone mention was quickly followed by some vague statement that she was moving (house?) and these gentlemen are trying to deep dive something that may be... hidden shallows? lol - packed up' / broken versus 'packing it up' to move house
Right... but isn't it a little weird that she's talking about a phone that's no longer in use? If I told you how many phones I have, I wouldn't count the old broken one that's sitting in my closet. That's odd.
So she’s only met him 2 or 3 times. Yet she sends him a hand written letter, at least 10 emails, congratulates him on his show…that seems like a heck of a lot more engagement than one would expect for someone you barely know. If it walks like a duck…
It seems that Netflix lied about her being convicted of stalking , when testifying under oath before parliament. An MP is now suggested that they committed the crime of contempt of parliament and is demanding that they provide the evidence to back up their testimony. This was in the BBC. If it walks like a duck.
It makes no sense her congratulating him on his show unless she is indeed obsessed with him, ESPECIALLY since it doesn’t show her in a good light. I’m surprised she even admitted that.
With all the harassment of this woman, I sincerely hope she has some serious support. Ideally from some adequately experienced professional(s) and some people who genuinely care about her. I am concerned to ensure she doesn't come to some harm, either by her hand or at the hands of others.
@@maryaliceowen9165unfortunately, in the world these days, so many people see things online or in documentaries and seek out the people. Not saying she was necessarily harassed or given death threats..but it was the 'internet sleuths' who found her identity. It isn't out of the realm of possibilities is all I'm saying. Clearly, this woman is a lying liar who lies, so we don't know what is actually going on in her life...but regardless of if someone is a liar, a horrible person, or whatever no one deserves random people seeking them out for threats and harassment.
@maryaliceowen9165 your attitude towards people with psychological problems says SO MUCH about the type of pitchfork carrying person you are... how sad that you have to be you
I agree. Being from the NE of Scotland, I can vouch for you on that. I think other parts of the UK also use this phrasal verb (and "packed in") to mean broken. (btw Mark, Aberdeenshire is NE...she's from the Central Belt which is further south like Edinburgh, Fife, Dundee).
Greg, I love what you said about Borderline Personality Disorder. My eldest daughter has been diagnosed with this & she’s definitely not broken. She was diagnosed her first year of university, but managed to get her degree & go on to get a good job. As a family we work with it, not against it because it is what it is. It’s part of her beautiful makeup, a part of her that just happened & we love her no less for it. Thank you Greg for highlighting that ❤
You looked after your daughter guided her that's how your daughter did so well bless her but this girl does not seem to have anyone no talk about parents at all xxxx
If he lied about her being convicted, he might well have lied about the rest. Many authors use people they know at work or in bars as the basis for their characters. They then write their story about the character being a spy or a murderer. That may have happened here and the thing that went wrong is that Gaad never thought it could be traced back to her or the man who was accused of raping him. Gaad is freaking out about this. Did he want to protect her or is he afraid to be caught in a hoax?
If I was Piers doing this interview, I think I’d end up in a laughing fit & end up a real mess in the end, because every time I’d try again, the laughing & trying to hold it back would just get worse & worse, and when I’d see the look on her face in reaction to my laughing, it would make me laugh even more. 😂😂😂
Mark Bowden, the way you spoke about this "allegedly" mentally ill woman being made a spectacle for public entertainment was spot-on. You handled this analysis with such grace and kindness.
I am a mum to 3 daughter with ASD - and I am a mental health nurse. My daughters are brutally honest… they do not understand the ulterior motives in lying… She appears to me like she has a borderline personality disorder - she is partially detached from reality, she is grandiose, delusional and manipulative. She uses opportunities to undermine Piers, she shows passive aggression and ‘hidden threats’ - this woman is vulnerable but so are others.
Agree that Fiona has a sense of grandiosity: "photographic memory," "top of my class," "they hired me away," "he wanted to sleep with me." She's her own heroine. And according to her, she doesn't lie, except to be altruistic. I think she's self congratulatory, smug, and calculating. And she keeps contradicting herself. All of which seems to be the opposite of someone with ASD.
You might have confirmation bias if you watched the Netflix show. If what she is saying proves to be true. she is not detached from reality. The UK parliament is now demanding that Netflix provide evidence to support their testimony, under oath, to a parliamentary committee that the story is true. They are alarmed that there is no record of her having a criminal record. If they can't provide the emails or evidence of her criminal record for stalking, then she will be the victim of a horrific hoax. If you accepted the allegation that she is a convicted stalker, you might be looking for evidence of that when you are seeing a person whose life was just destroyed dealing with unbearable stress. I am open to the possibility that this is the case since one of the top lawyers in the UK has gone on record that he is putting together a team of top US and UK lawyers. No top lawyer would do that with a person who was detached from reality. Nor would they put themselves or family at risk by dealing with a convicted stalker. Him going on the record and the actions of parliament tend to support her telling the truth that she and her boyfriend are lawyers who have professional and political contacts.
Her whole life is a drunk text to an ex. You send it, you panic, you send another. Living in that state of delulu is a whole nother kettle of unstable.
I thought it was interesting that she specifically denied seeing the actress but then went on to detail her hair colour, accent and age. I also thought it was kind of comical that when Piers asks about the title of the show she suggests she must have “written the show in her sleep” but then goes on to say that, yes, in fact she did call him baby reindeer.
Packed up means broken permanently. It literally means packed up shop - business closed. Sometimes we'd say 'my phone's packed up', sometimes 'my phone's packed it in'. More confusingly, if you were telling two kids to stop fighting you can also say 'pack it in you two!'. True English has lots of strange little sayings.
I worked at the pub where they met, about 10 years before. My friend and I used to joke that there must have been a map on how to get to the pub from a hospital for mental illness. If you knew the characters that frequented that pub you would not be surprised that a delusional person like this would have been in there.
@@angelapuckett4932 it's true! I have soooo many stories about the people who came to that pub. I tell people all the time but never thought of writing it down!
While attempting to deny being a stalker, Fiona displays Martha's EXACT behavior-patterns. Her ACTIONS betray her words. We are observing, in real time, what Richard Gadd experienced in Baby Reindeer.
No, what you’re observing, is the actual real person the character in the show was based on You understand what an actor does right? The writer/director tells the actor who they play the character and that way we can make film and stuff without the original people in them So a professional actor being told by someone who has met Fiona, to “act” like Fiona, ie, speech, accent, movements, gestures, mannerisms etc is just that It does not for one second mean you’re suddenly an expert psychologist It means you’re seeing the woman the character is based on It doesn’t mean any of the rest of the story is true I mean, anyone could find an actor that looks like you, get them to dress like you act like you, talk like you, then shoot a movie that claims you were a serial killer When people then look at you, do they see “the serial killer” because that’s the role the actor paid to act like you played and it’s what people saw Or are you still just normal old you that someone has made a movie about? Does it make any of the claims about you in the film true because the casting team were good or the actors were good?
She is preparing to sue Netflix and Gaad. She seems to be represented by one of the top lawyers in the UK, a KC. That lawyer has told the press he is putting together a team of top UK and US lawyers to sue Netflix and Gaad. She has also convinced at least one MP that a Netflix executive lied under oath to a parliamentary committee. He is now demanding evidence from Netflix that they did not commit contempt of parliament. These are not the actions of a stalker. The MP told the BBC that nobody can find any record of the criminal conviction that Netflix testified was true. Getting these actions from parliament and a top lawyer, are not the acts of a convicted stalker. In fact, neither a top lawyer or MP would have anything to do with a convicted stalker. Her only mistake was not to go on Piers's show with her lawyer. She will probably not repeat that mistake. Not many mentally ill stalkers would have an MP telling the BBC that Netflix may be guilty of contempt of parliament in the first few days of fighting back. No MP would do that if he wasn't sure Netflix lied.
@MrMuckymouse Yes. I am confused why you have stated the obvious, here. My point is that Fiona's interview seems to validate Richard Gadd's experience and creative work relaying that experience. Baby Reindeer is a *dramatic* *reenactment* of a "true story." I was an acting/theatre major at a prestigious conservatory. Jessica's performance is brilliant. I will be applauding her when she wins the Emmy. I intend to be there to congratulate her, a fellow theatre actor, who deserves to be showered with accolades -- and her choice of future roles.
@@castlerock58I have to agree to disagree. I think it's entirely possible that she hoodwinked the MP. She is a sociopath. She loved the attention of being interviewed by Piers Morgan. Look at people like Alex Murdaugh and Donald Trump. They were able to fool lots of people.
No, she means that he didn’t have what some people call a proper job. Meaning, he was working in the pub to just get by until he made it as a comedian. A lot of people work in bars and shops ect whilst studying. Not wanting to take anything away from these workers as a job is a job.
She was a lawyer and he was an aspiring comic working odd jobs. Women tend to be interested in men with the same or higher education and income. It is not an odd thing for her to think. A lot has been written on how this fact about female psychology is affecting the dating pool as more women are going to university than men. She says her boyfriend is a fellow lawyer.
Some of her Aberdonian accent has been heavily influenced by London. She says ‘theh’ instead of ‘theyr’ (there) etc. I thought it was a failing by the actress to get the accent right then I realised she’s just copying the real woman. I’m convinced he played the actress her recordings because it’s uncanny.
And yet she caused incredible harm ,Gad became fixated on her and that is a part of trauma bonding ,the need to know WHY ? is a part of the human condition ,she caused massive harm to many people and stalking is terrifying for people yes we should have empathy but she is sane ,and highly manipulative ,we interview serial killers and yet one could argue they are the most insane of all yet we cannot bear to see them a s human so we we ignore the fact they they are suffering from an obsessional disorder of extreme violence and martha'sis no different albeit she does twist to cause physical harm hers and this e like her cause great psychological harm that can break people as we saw it happen in the drama .
When will you British learn to speak "real" English? (Tried to put a smiley face laughing hysterically so obviously I'm not too serious.) Besides, I love Mark.
I think one of the four men misunderstood her when she said who "Packs up their phone" while moving. In British English "Packed up" means it broke... She she was saying it packed up before she moved, NOT that she packed in up in say a moving box while moving.
The biggest lie that tripped her up here was her admitting to having 4 phones after previously saying she only had "2 phones," an old one that she uses and one packed away.
Credible ones are a lot worse than prank ones from teenagers. I have had both kinds. Some are annoying and others are terrifying if you don't have a gun to protect yourself and your family. Having an adult male threaten to kill you after saying they are the one who left a dead animal at your door is a lot worse than a teenager's voice not connected to proof they have been to your home. This would not occur to a halfwit. When the police tell you the call came from a payphone near where a political extremist group was meeting, that qualifies as horrible.
Stalking Starter Pack....8 email addresses, 4 Phones, ability to deny and qualify, with absolutely Zero Technology Skills necessary. Scott is hilarious!
I'm a little bit surprised that you all haven't commented on how she seems jealous of "Jessica the actress". She knows how old the woman is, yet pretends she doesn't know her last name. She consistently refers to her as "Jessica the actress", and when Piers says that she resembles the actress, Fiona also makes the insult of saying "That's hardly flattering". It's like she has to make these little digs to the woman who played her, because she's jealous of her. She knows how old Jennifer is, and thinks that she's from Glasgow, but refuses to use her proper name. I suspect she's envious that the trained actress got to play her in the show! Laura Wray is a very reputable person, and it is well documented that she terrorized that family. She first says that the woman doesn't even know the name of her own business, and corrects the record to HER version of the truth. She claims SHE walked because the staff were rude to her, and the woman screwed up the paperwork. It's always someone else's fault. I'd love someone to dig into her past, and find out what's real and what's not. I have the feeling that she feels she's missing out on the money and celebrity of being in this Netflix smash, and wants her piece of the pie. When Piers asked if she'd watched it, she claims she hasn't watched it, but said she's had enough of it, that it's sick, misogynistic, and not her type of drama. How would she know that if she didn't watch it? She was tying in the online people's comments, with the show, saying people were making her death threats? She's confusing the dialogue in the show, with dialogue online. She is a fkn weirdo, and should be monitored!
I could be wrong, but when Fiona refers to her good mobile phone as having 'packed up' (i heard 'packed in'), in the UK this can mean broken rather than packed away into storage. Edit. Just listened again. She said 'packed up', but in the context of 'my fridge packed up'. As in, it broke.
You’re right. I didn’t quite understand what they were getting at till you pointed out their misinterpretation of the cultural interpretation of the language.
When she mentions "he shaved his head," I think she was talking about the creator of the show--the protagonist and NOT her toy that she said. I took it to mean the protagonist shaved his head and THAT made him look like her toy reindeer.
Its sad that his very raw dipiction of what so many people go through with sexual assault and harassment, and especially what is common for a young man getting stalked is being questioned by so many in the comments, (not just here, elsewhere online too) i thought it very brave of him to explore so much of how that all can affect you. I related so much as a woman who has been raped more than once, he expressed the raw confusion it can cause so well. Obviously it was dramatised for tv viewing but worth the watch. Rape and stalking are NOT as cut and dry as people want it to be. I think this woman did indeed stalk him.
I agree too and i find it interesting to see how differently she’s being treated as a woman, I wonder how everything would change if the characters were reversed.
It now appears that he lied about her being convicted of stalking. If he lied about that , it is reasonable to ask whether he lied about everything. It seems that the UK parliament is doing just that since Netlix testified before them that the story was true. An MP told the BBC that they are demanding evidence to back up that testimony. It is quite possible that this is a hoax.
If someone Scottish says “packed up” it means that it’s broken - “my phone has packed up” = “my phone is broken” My car has packed up = my car has broken down
@@heathermclean20 She said she had 2 phones that were old and packed up then she said one of them was new. How convenient for them to be pack up with all those texts messages and calls on them. It feels more like she took a hammer to them.
I'm Scottish and I went to the University of Glasgow. To become a lawyer, you need to do an LLB degree. Why didn't she say she had an LLB? Did she forget what it was called? Also, I wonder why she only did the 3-year Ordinary degree and didn't stay on to do her final Honours year. Most law students do the full 4-year Honours degree. Competition for jobs, traineeships, etc. is very high. So someone with just an Ordinary degree isn't going to get very far. Is she a Walter Mitty character? Are we going to find out she's not a lawyer at all and has been living a fantasy life?
I’m from Aberdeen and I would say you are spot on. She either failed miserably and didn’t get to continue on to do honours and it’s all a figment of her imagination.
My former husband had several email addresses. He had software that let him manage them all in one place. Eventually I concluded that if a bloke has several email addresses, he’s likely doing something dodgy!
"It's not my type of drama". Thought she hadn't seen it yet references several scenes from it and knows Martha's appearance in detail. Still loving Piers' momentary kakking pants when she knows his age, looool
Everyone should watch the next interview Piers Morgan's done with Laura Wray, the lawyer who was stalked by this woman prior to her hitting on Richard Gadd.
I have to be honest, when she said about the shaved head, I didn’t take it that she meant the reindeer. I took it that she meant the man had shaved his head and looked like her baby reindeer?
"I've never seen the actress..." but goes on to describe her in the same breath. People seem to feel sorry for her because she's obviously mentally ill and vulnerable, but she lies from one sentence to the next. Feeling sorry for her is one thing, giving her the benefit of the doubt is crazy. RG obviously took creative license with the story but he isn't the only person she's stalked and harassed over the years.
So many people on social media have been giving her all this sympathy as if it's impossible to be a complete a-hole of a horrible person and be mentally ill all at once. One doesn't negate the other. I know plenty of people who have personality disorders who don't stalk people or lie about litteraly everything. I don't think she deserves the amount of sympathy she's getting. In fact, it will probably just enable her poor behavior even more. Idk that's just me tho😂
@@SuperSkullSplitter maybe netflix was and she was watching that woman long before the show was made. There had to be that or video for her to reference. Or maybe she stalked her since everyone is stalking everyone, now.
