That guy overcommitting 4 defenders then getting bailed by AI is so egregious. In no other video game do you get rewarded so heavily for making such poor decisions.

I think that the gambling aspect of this game is what has made everyone so ratty. People are obsessed with winning for rewards rather than playing their ideal style of football regardless of results. That’s why you’ll see mechanic abuse.

The gameplay has gotten has gotten more and more defensive since fifa 18. I feel like that was the last playable fifa in my opinion. Each year it's more and more ai defending drop back counter. No type of attacking fluidity since the ai marks every player or one bad touch from a tackle from behind by the AI. This fifa feels the most glitched to me as well. The amount of bicycle kicks and rainbow flicks to overhead kicks from outside the box going in is disgraceful 😂

I play fifa religiously for 10 years but never watched any media about it. I recently found out about Inception so I have no bias when I say this: EVERY THING IN THIS VIDEO IS TRUE!

Played weekend league this week and was genuinely stunned at the NOTICEABLY bad reaction time, strange running, bad passing etc. from the first whistle. This is super telling because the last time I played was last week and it felt like a totally different game. Muscle memory doesn't lie.

There are weeks that I win every single match and my players feel absolutely juiced and then the next week they all play like dogshit and can’t even complete a short pass to save their life. I’m starting to question if I’m ass at the game or if the game is ass 😂

Everyone marked simultaneously. I call it the "Glue Defense" because everyone is stuck on your like glue and there is nothing you can do but just try to survive.

Nothing but respect for your knowledge and justified criticism that highlight the flaws with this game. I’m fed up with the laggy, unresponsive gameplay, and the losses I get as a result. If I try to right stick of L1 player switch, I press the button, and nothing happens. I try to do a quick turn, and my player just stands there. Yet my opponent can sprint the length of the field, and I can’t stop them, because my player can’t tackle, of I can’t player switch in time. Sometimes it feels like my opponents view is ahead of mine, so they have already moved a defender into a position that looks different to the one from my perspective (lag compensation?). And to top things off, when i dominate games, I hit the woodwork or my opponents keeper saves most shots. I have zero motivation to practice and improve my skills in this game, because it’s so unrewarding. I played fullback for my university for several years, so understand the concepts of football. But FIFA isn’t about concepts, its about exploiting flaws in the game mechanics.

THE most annoying shit ever is when pass the ball to your striker, and u see the gk is rushing, im pressing shoot right before the gk is coming, my strikers takes 2-3 touches and looses the ball.

I watched this video over three days and this guy has the most passion of any RU-vidr ever, it’s amazing how Inception can rant for almost two hours and you still feel it’s better than most Hollywood movies cause you share the same emotions while playing this game.

I started playing FIFA last year, but I have over 1000 hours in both 22 and 23, and I already want to end myself every time I play fut champs. If you have been doing this for over 10 years, that can't be good for your mental health. However, I have huge respect for you because you are still making great content.

Thanks for the rant, I was so done with this bullshit game man. I played WL first time after Ultimate Tots, was 11-1 and I thought maybe a cheeky 16-4 is in the cards. NO, EA said 3 games in a row all the fckin bounces going to my opponent, Tapsoba making 10 saves in a half, meanwhile my Dudek cannot save a red timed finesse from 25 yards.

I stopped playing since most of the player base started using 541 drop back and my mental health has improved massively. Drop back makes the game frustrating and causes so much rage

Great video, gotta love the passion to improve this game because we all want a better experience. I think a step up would be to make a structured video with lots of gameplay clips to exemplify every single point, but I understand how that would be very high effort. I would love for more high profile fifa youtubers to take an approach like that instead of a rant though. Not that the rant format is bad, its still highly entertaining, but I feel like the format I mentioned would be more useful and undeniable to incite improvements in the game to the developers

the step over acceleration mechanic merchants who do it when they have all the space in the world are the ones who drive me the most insane. They are programmed like robots to always use this mechanic, usually before instantly turning backwards and switching it to the left/right back for no purpose at all

The problem is FIFA isn't a football game, it's a gambling game. Which is why you have so many less players playing Pro-clubs/seasons. We have been addicted over our teenage years to opening packs. If they gave everyone free Mbappe they'd still submit him into SBC to get +1 version of him which is slightly better. EA have destroyed a generation into problem gambling.

Maybe it's just me but has anyone else noticed how when you're in the "Club" tab in the menu, hit X to Enter Squad, then this "O" to back out of the menu you're chemistry SIGNIFICANTLY decreases??? Maybe I'm crazy but seems to definitely affect how my team plays the next match. Just wanted your thoughts....

49:21 And another point; although the settings for "Contextual Dribbling" is automatically turned off when it comes to online modes, the setting IS STILL ON. Take a notice of how your player doesn't dribble "manually" and when you try popping off certain things in the game, left stick dribbling and skills, your player is already doing an animation that hinders it from doing what you need it to do. The Contextual Dribbling is always on no matter what game mode you play.

Cannot disagree with u in anything related with the state of the game, i fully agree, BUT, i am going to comment on the squad battles. Yes, i am one of those weirdos that play squad battles regularly because i am nearing 40s, like playing fifa every now and then, and i cannot cope with the stuff u mention on this video nor the actual messages, celebrations, idiotic behaviour on games and so on that u find when playing online this game. Also, regarding the inconsistent gameplay i will also say they replicate the pressure tactics and slow gameplay on legendary and ultimate modes, i suggest you try out those ones at least a couple of times, it might serve as proof that inconsistent gameplay is actually embedded in the game logic. I am happy that you spoke out like this about the game anyway, keep it up!

Bro you just touched the essencial point, unconsistent gameplay! Theres no one that can LEARN this game because of this, therefore theres almost no skill gap. This is most due to everything that is dynamic in this game you can never expedt anything from any player, attacking or defending because they will always react in so many ways possible. Impossible to have fun competing on this game. Watch the pros playing, most boring gameplay ever. TOO SLOW, TOO UNCONSISTENT, TOO SCRIPTED!!! Everyone who recorda their own gameplay knows that this game almost everytime either makes it more easy or more difficult for you to play!! Players trying to run, and they just cant, player switching to a furthest player, green times going to the post or not even on target even with perfect execution. Miss the times where FIFA was skill based, where you would win or lose a match based on your performance! Theres not a single mechanic well made and consistent trough 90 mins of the game

@InceptionFC thank you for this, nothing may come from this, but I am glad to hear I am not the only one feeling this way while playing this game. What I will say, when one casually plays FIFA on kickoff with a group of friends it is some of the most fun you can have, but I am likely not going to be putting 100's of hours into a Ultimate Team in the future again.

Regarding the settings getting reset: although that shit still pisses me off, i found something that works for me aside from the "save profile" thing. What i do is always have my controller connect to the PS5 via usb cable. It is really annoying to have, but since I started doing this a few months ago it never reset again. I discovered this on accident. EA pls sort your shit out. I watched the whole video, i love these rants because I feel understood. Grande abraço!

Game control settings being reset is annoying, kick off glitch, german cross where defenders just freeze, first time lobbed throughballs, where the passer is facing the opposite direction.

As someone who has been playing the game since FIFA 98 I can 100% understand and agree with your opinion. I wish that this video reaches some dev of EA and they listen to the criticism and draw their conclusions from it. It can't be that year after year the game is getting worse and worse. @54:30 That’s exactly what happened with me yesterday and lost the game eventually. Yesterday I had a weird experience also. I just packed the most expensive card in game, TOTY R10. I was playing the FUT champs, and I managed to create an opportunity. I found Ronaldinho on the edge of the box, and the ball on his dominant foot facing the far post. Naturally, I attempted the finesse shot using shot button plus agile dribbling button. Surprisingly, Ronaldinho executed an outside foot shot and the ball curled outside the far post in a very weird way. Can someone who has experience in coding or software development explain for me why did the player execute a command completely opposite to what I had pressed on joystick? Is it a connection issue as well?

I always play 1 match of squad battles when i start up FIFA. Even offline i promise you can tell when the gameplay is crap. Soon as it's not at least tolerable, i put away the game for that day. It's sad to admit that because I've had so much fun with FIFA over the years and now it usually stresses me more than it gives me fun.

Lmao the frustrations shown here is so relatable. I ended up losing today 4-3 after being up 3-1. Conceded a goal in stoppage time and lost even when I was playing 1000x better. Didn't make any sense to me.

The jude goal are the types of goals I like to score.. I watch football alot and also played Saturday/Sunday mornings which I think most people who agree with your vid do.... We like the pass and move... Me personally I love whipping balls into the box from the flanks etc but playing like this is more a negative if you care for results

My problem is definitely with the switching, so often you cannot switch to the right player at all, right stick failing even as well. The idiotic AI has the secondary cursor bounce all over the place making it at times IMPOSSIBLE to switch correctly, how hard can it be to fix that shit.

I play squad battles a lot too. You notice it there as well, the inconsistent gameplay. Usually it starts quite decent but when the ai score... Not only they go constant pressure and your players all of a sudden they're not moving around anymore, passing feels slow and just bad, dribbling feels delayed and slowed down, and so on. I fucking hate it man

58:50 @Inception, i left the game for a month because of that, there were some people against me who were actually shooting the ball from like 30 meters hoping that my keeper will punch the ball out of play just so that they can get the corner and preform the bicycle kick

I think the main issue is that there is no build up play with the ai.. thats why tactics especially ratty ones are so effective and annoying.. if you try to do a fast build up by the time your forwards get the ball your whole team is still in your half instead of running up and pushing into the other oppositions side.. thus we have to do elasticos and r stick dribble until then slow ass ai realizes “oh shit this dude is trying to attack”… then there’s the whole thing with inconsistent gameplay so ea have their pick of what to fix first.. or probably nothing at all like every year.

Completely agree with the PC frame rate thing, especially if you can get to 100+ fps, fifa becomes an entirely different game, so much smoother and enjoyable. Also still can’t understand why EA gave 120fps to Xbox version and only 60fps for PlayStation, seems extremely unfair given how much it influences how we play the game

real vid. One reason ive struggled more this year than in the past, I hate counterattacking meta. Its not fun at all. I like to have have possession and dribbling and genuine build up. The true art of football is build up play but in this game its dead.

The hold RT/R2 sprint merchants are the ones that infuriate me the most, there's literally no skill involved it's just a crap mechanic that renders my AI defenders helpless, and when I try to manually defend it, the reaction is so slow that the defenders struggle to keep up. Then I try and do build up play with well thought out passes, only for a park the bus defense to stop it because it's near impossible to score with build up play, and once they intercept the ball it's back to the RT/R2 sprint counter attack. Which then makes me have to play the same ratty way to stay in games, which is not how I want to play.

I have to agree 100% with this. Playing Fifa for more than 10 years and every year I am more and more disappointed and this year, I am not joking, I had to delete the game for 6 months since I started taking tranquilizers after a few games. It is insulting my intelligence. THE QUESTION IS WHAT WILL THE COMMUNITY DO ABOUT THIS??? Not about my tranquilizers, but the gameplay 😂
