😱 What If You Try to Kill the Emperor During the Siege of Solitude in Skyrim?

​@@deutchecheems7678 ofc. If you notice, pretty much all the empire forces at Skyrim are made of Nords. Not a single orc, bowmer, argonian, etc. That means they only use local recruits.

People rag on Bethesda for bugginess but the vast amount of possibilities in the game just means that statistically something will fall through the cracks no matter how much QA it gets. In reality we take for granted how bug free skyrim is due to thorough polishing of minor details like this.

When I was a kid I got Fallout 3 and one of the major civilian developments was a town called Megaton. I was terrible at managing resources so I was quietly liquidating the town in their houses at night to steal all their shit unimpeded. Eventually word got out what I was doing when one of the town children witnessed a murder and I had to wipe the rest of the town out. For a while when I'd come back the 2 kids would just be running around when I'd come by the town, shouting at me and calling me names. I finally got my explosives skill up enough to defuse the nuke in the middle of town. Afterward I was surprised when the son of the town Sheriff approached me, "You, you did something to the bomb in the middle of town didn't you? It's different now, I can tell. I think my dad, would have wanted you to have this." And he gave me the key to the spare house in town. I was mind blown they had a contingency plan to award the player the house if the Sheriff was dead.

Yeah, we call them game testers... thinking outside the box is a must, if one guy can do it then theirs millions of others how could probably do it too.

If less people protecting the most important person in their military that is present, then it's a dumb move and that how they die more often. Kind of like how during the infiltration training during BCT, for some reason the DS that was leading the team against mine (as OPFOR) decided to move the team-leader to the front rather than leaving them where they told us the team leader is safest after the dummy opened a window like we were told not to do and spotted me inside. The team leader being the first one to have to enter the building against my fortified position I made, guess who got killed as soon as their torso passed through the door? The most important person of the operation!

Except, with the siege going on, the emperor isn't going to even come to skyrim in the first place.

Under normal circumstances yeah, but they want the assassination of the emperor to be a message that the Dark Brotherhood was back in full force.

Skyrim doesn't have to be Imperial for the Emperor to visit it

@@samuelmorenomoya7862 I mean the Stormcloaks are not the enemies of the Empire but they're only against the Imperial rule in Skyrim, the Empire doesn't strike back if Ulfric wins and Skyrim immediately starts preparing to fight the elves because *they* are not bound with treaties with Thalmor anymore, it is an advantage the Empire could really use

It does it the other way around too, if you get the emperor there and then try to attack they say it's too dangerous and we'll have to wait for the emperor to leave before we can siege the city

I've never seen this ceasefire meeting around the huge table etc. I'm assuming I did something out of order ? Or ignored the greybeards crappy blades quest bs? I want to see this.

@@CaTalysT-pu6vi It's called Season Unending, & you only get it if the war is not completed & you are far enough in the main questline. (Aka. do the main quests, then the civil war afterward)

@@MightyLitLHero If I remember correctly if you talk to the emperor before killing him he says something about having visions leading him to this place. He thinks this as well as his potential death is just destiny playing out.
