Stanley Livingstone he couldn’t dunk until he was a senior in high school that’s crazy considering how he’s the most explosive player in the league now
🐐🐐🐐!! 🔥 Just started my jump training a few days ago.. I’ve been following all your videos since the algorithm blessed me in mid 2020.. Thank you for sharing these gems with us!! [on the road to my first dunk ever..](I’m a one leg jumper, so watching you has really inspired me!) 🙏🙏🙏 200k LETS GOOOO!!! 😤😤😤
Dudes advice is on point. I'm 53 and 5'11, although i was a much better 2 foot leaper when I was in my 20s, I still used to practice the same techniques off one foot for extension and acceleration. Since I could palm a basketball with my left hand it made the technique off my right foot much easier, with much more control as well. To strengthen those calf muscles, I also highly suggest constantly walking around the house on your toes, and stand on the edge of any step and using your toes for balance do "toe rises".... up and down until you can stand yourself any longer. The toe rises will help with a two foot vertical immensely, and in a short period of time you'll be tossing the ball off the backboard or on a bounce able to crush dunks. You can jump higher without the ball, so if you have small hands it's beneficial to do something off the board or bounce. Anyway, this dude has good advice, main thing is putting in the work, in a few months you'll see quite the difference.
Touches on soooo many things that are behind making his hops LOOK easy and natural - in addition to the techniques it's the effort and the time; the work and the reps that he's put in
Thank briz I been practicing my one foot jumping for the first time for 2 weeks after jumping on 2 feet all my life. 2 week ago I was only able to touch 9’4 now I can touch 9’8! On one foot !
I dunked twice out of 4 attempts with what usually takes me 6 fails before actually finishing it. So improvements already with this method and I'm a natural 2 foot jumper. On a 9'10 hoop.
Don't worry you can do it even if you're 5"4. Just keep practicing, it worked for. More reps and make your like Kobe(much love) and before you know it your muscles will get used to it, in no time you will be doing windmills. Just here to give some motivation. Believe and Just do it🎷
I've seen Jordan do both. The one foot technique looks more efficient and more exciting. I've worked on this for a few hours. I just dunked for the first time. I'm 6 foot 2, and 68 years of age.
@@tweetybird4 yea I know, I got a 33/34" but I was on vaca last week, this week & next is gonna be scary but I don’t have fast twitch muscles lmao but I’m gettin up there
guys he is right about everything. when i did cross country i didn’t really have the power and fast twitch to get up and dunk like him. but i was able to feel the ability to pop off one leg with maximum effort without getting injured. I would run really fast and blow by people with my first step and jump off one foot the key thing was going faster as i was about to jump because i was transferring all that speed from my sprint to vertically in the air. in other words if you want to jump high you have to build up the ability to transfer your speed to up. in order to do that you have to become a faster sprinter and also lose enough weight or become strong enough to the shock of going in to a complete stop going full speed. a good way to train this is doing anything that requires landing with control and being comfortable on your toes.
You just have to attempt dunking from the free throw line and eventually dunking from half the distance and three quarters of the distance will seem much easier. Aim high and you’ll see results midway
I am good at one and two foots i jump the same heigh with one and with two but I jump with my right foot when I'm supposed to jump with the left it just feels more natural for me jumping qith the right.
@@cesarthrashful I did it from 6th to 8th grade during school while playing at recess and I dunked my freshman year at 5'11 and dusted the track team while not playing track and my legs are still strong till this day. Also helps with fatigue when most people's legs get tired in basketball. But everyone's body is different.
I love this guys drive and low profile while doing it, but he reminds me of Rose and that scares me. Super explosive but man be careful on those landings.
Nick I was wondering what if the one leg your jumping off,the shin of that leg starts to ache I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong but I was wondering if you could help me fix that
Same, I jump way higher off 2 than 1 and it makes sense because you're using both legs instead of just 1! It's strange how some people jump higher off 1 than 2, they are likely a small percentage of the population lol.
@@bryant475 it’s coz we don’t know how to convert our speed vertically on 2 legs , I have a 30inch jump off 1 leg , but my standing vertical is 26-27 inches off 2 legs if I can convert my speed to a 2leg jump I will have +30inches on it , hopefully that knee thing he is talking about works imma try it tomorrow
I’m a 5’8 2 footed jumper and I pretty much almost dunked yesterday I just kinda tipped the ball in, but I feel like if I jump off one and practice this imma be Dunkin I’m a week or two. Remind you I’m 5’8.
There is just one small detail that isn’t addressed. The key and limiting factor for nearly everyone is your genetics. Don’t get me wrong, the training effect will produce results. You will see improvements, but you won’t be doing what he is. He’s an elite level athlete. A 4 cylinder car will only go so fast, no matter the modifications you make. A V12 on the other hand... wow endless potential. Most of us are 4 cylinders not 12.
Just worry about getting better ! Fear is a mindset , no reason to fill your mind w/ the negative if yk you have a goal in mind ! Solely focus on the positives of getting better and I am not to say you wont mess up (that would be a naïve mindset) but @ the end of the day, its all a process: a sprint not a marathon! You’ll get better in due time , just put the work in!
Same bro I got traumatized from being flipped in midair ended up with a concussion but you have overcome it if you want to reach your full jumping potential
