They're very impressive out of pretty much any barrel length!

I bought 250 rounds of Punch after Tools did the first test with it. Great ammo!

@@IAMRUSTEDROOT I also got 200 rounds for the same reason. I think they must use a grain of N310 powder and use the light for caliber projectile to keep the pressure within SAAMI specifications. They say speed kills, but never get hit by an F150 pickup.. It kills more Oregonians than AR15s.

They wouldn't cycle in this 10/22 Charger or the Taurus TX22. Same with the eco-power. I've never had a problem with any other ammo out of either of these guns.🤷‍♂️

@@ToolsandTargets I think .22LR punch would give .22 WMR Gold dot short barrel a run for its money on penetration and consistancy of performance.

While I would not recommend it for grizzley, but here is a historical comparison: On 10 May, 1953, Bella Twin, 63,used a .22 Long 29 grain bullet rated at 1240fps for 99 ft/lbs to take the 1953 World Record Grizzly.This bear’s skull was 16 9/16 long and 9 14/16 wide, for a total score of 26 7/16. Weight estimated at over 1000 pounds. She shot at the side of the bears head half way on a line from the center of the eye to the ear hole. She used a Cooley Ace 1 Bolt Action Youth version with a 17 inch barrel made prior to 1935. He got 135 ft/lbs compared to her 99 ft.lbs. Do not try this at home. She was a Native seasoned citizen running a trap line. This is why you should never mess with old people. A life sentence at 77 is not the same threat as it is at 17. If Scarlet fever is not going to get me at 7 months, a felon not going to get me at 70 years. We are still trying to measure up to Alvin York and Audie Murphy. Unlike them, I did not have a 1903 Springfield in my hands until I was 18.

That would be awesome to see some head to head gel test in the .300BO. I built a rifle recently and I’ve been wandering if some of the expensive self defense or hunting rounds are worth the premium price. Considering it’s hard to find any 300 under 1.00 a round of you’re paying top dollar it would be nice to see performance relative to the cost per round the underwood is about 3.30 a round on midway right now

@@ToolsandTargets I think the rule of thumb should be they should give you a Clear Ballistics Block the length of the barrel to prove their statistics independently. SAAMI uses 15" barrels to check maximum chamber pressure of 26,500 psi, but that all goes out the window when you have a 1.625 inch pocket snubby.

CCI stinger is the only one for me.

This garbage wouldn't cycle in the Charger or a TX22. The Eco power wouldn't either. It's junk if you ask me.

@@ToolsandTargets i doubt that a 24" barrel would make eco speed ammo shine, more than 20" would not give gain, and bullet is really light in my opinion. But i would not blame charger+punchs as personal defense tool.

Yes, I mentioned that. I'm sure they used the longest barrel they could get a hold of to boast about numbers. Still doesn't excuse how pathetic these rounds were out of a 10 inch barrel. They literally wouldn't even cycle it.😂

The ecospeed and the 24gr fragmentation rds are much faster out of longer barrels. There’s a powder burn efficiency issue with them in the 10” Ruger. I got 1460 average out of my 18” 10-22 and 1640 out of my 20” CZ. I believe the stated 1706# is a 24” barrel. This isn’t good ammo for pistols, it won’t cycle in anything I have except an old S&W 422 pistol that eats everything. If you reload you’ll find Hodgdon’s reloading site always assumes a 24” barrel with its load data recommendations.

I've actually used some of the .357 Norma fmj to make sure where my point of impact is before doing a couple of jelly tests and also to test out the 608 revolver when I first bought it. They seem to be just fine. Their 9mm fmj seems fine too. I guess someone was out to lunch when they came up with these .22 rounds.😆

Yeah, the subsonics don't like to cycle a lot of semi autos. These things were running well over the supersonic cutoff though so it makes no sense that they didn't cycle. Just a pitiful little round. you could even hear and feel how weak it was. Appreciate you checkin it out as always brother!

What I have to add to this is I have about 700 stingers and to this date I have never had the opportunity to purchase any Federal Punch in any calibers! So I will have to shoot what I have and on my next trip out to country to shoot hopefully Sunday I’m planning on shooting a box of my Stingers and some Interceptors both the flat nose and hollow points and maybe try out the Silver Tips because I’ve never fired them either

Another gooden would be a cz 457. Pretty accurate from what I'm told a little on the spendier side but nothing terrible. Maybe try a Marlin Model 60? See what that microgroove does for the boolets?
