Shocked to see how our 0-60mph Testing turned out on our project car, the 2023 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium! As our newest project car, the MKV Supra needed to establish some baseline performance numbers - in this video we're testing our Supra's acceleration times using the Dragy Performance meter to determine our Toyota Supra's 0-60 mph acceleration times. Now that we've determine some baseline 0-60mph acceleration runs for our Supra, our next step is to get the MKV Supra on the DYNO to find out how much horsepower and torque our stock Supra produces before we start installing and testing various Toyota Supra performance modifications!

For those that are wondering, at sea level the ambient PSI is 14.70. At 6000ft 11.78 PSI. That is a 20% reduction in ambient air pressure. If this was a naturally aspirated car, imagine losing 20% of your performance just like that. With a turbo it's less, probably closer to 10% loss in power, but also an increase in turbo response time, in heat of the intercooler due to less dense air, etc. 4.5 at 6000ft is super impressive. Considering you are breaking the tires loose even when down on power, it's obvious the car is traction limited. Cup 2's on a drag surface would probably get you closer to 3.9

Also I'd like to add, being in Colorado and in 40 degree and/or less weather lately.. Those tires won't be sticking as well compared to warmer weather. I'm sure it could be faster like you said.

This is why the GT series of cars from Porsche are AWFUL at altitude, well not awful but NA cars are not as good as FI for sure! Think about all these 4Runners and Jeeps driving around in Colorado....20% of 280 hp...224 hp SUV, whew!

NA vehicle’s are impacted more from the high altitude / lower oxygen levels than turbocharged vehicles as the turbo can compensate somewhat to the lower atmosphere pressure. 👍

🤣🤣 Who doesn't buy an awesome car just because they're afraid of getting joked about by their peers? I am a true car enthusiast who has owned over 22 vehicles in my life and restored multiple classic Mopars as well as being a diehard motorcyclist for almost 30 years. The new Supras are awesome cars and very well made no matter who made them. I love my my 2022 3.0 and anyone who would pass on them purely because it's a BMW is really going to miss out.

I was thinking about not getting one just because BMW but then if you look Toyota worked with BMW about 5 years on Making sure the BMW engine and transmission would be more reliable so it’s German engineered but with more of Toyota quality

I enjoy the excitement of these videos when it comes to stock numbers. I got an unlocked ECU on a Stage 2 ECUTEK tune on NITTO 555R’s, and the amount of power gains makes the experience even more exciting once you have grip. Great stuff! 🤝

Looked at the Supra, went with its cousin, the BMW M240i xDrive. My M240i, hit 3.7 0 - 60 bone stock using launch mode on my first attempt. . The BMW xDrive means it hooks up every time, it really puts the power down, but it needs to since it adds 400 pounds. . My first mod is forged wheels and slightly smaller diameter tires, a combo that will drop 10 pounds of unsprung mass per corner as well as slightly lower gear ratio due to the .7" smaller tire. Should improve road feel, handling, braking and drop 2 - 3 tenths off the 0 - 60. . Investigating transmission tune but leery of engine tune.

Love the channel love what you do but for God's sake please stop calling the mark 5 a Supra. As a technician at the Toyota dealership we laugh at people that come in and call that car is super there is not one Toyota part number on that car we have to go to BMW manuals to work on that car it's a freaking joke! Not to be a hater but I almost traded my Mark 4 in on the mark 5 but do not want to get clowned by people or even at my shop didn't want to hear it. You really should have bought a BMW M3 or m4 better chassis better breaks better handling better interior ergonomics . Don't get me wrong the car looks spectacular but you cannot take a halo car that the motor alone people know exactly what it goes in and decide to put a BMW B-52 and its place if Chevy would have done that and put the coyote or vice a versa no one would have bought it I don't see how people are buying this car . When Twitter just screwed consumer over and bastardized the car. Don't get me wrong it's a fast car but it's a BMW

Like I said before if the ca put a coyote in its it be abomination people wouldn't stand for! Just don't know why people are so accepting of this abomination! The mark for wasn't an ordinary car it was a halo car that BRZ and FR-S is it brand new platform so it didn't matter if they were sharing technologies. It wouldn't be so bad maybe if it was the transmission or there were in or maybe even the iDrive or the IRS gauge cluster seats but it's all of that and more! Awesome platform makes big power but it's a BMW platform it is not a Supra

The NSX was also designed in house and nobody bought them... Not enough to offset r&d... Your 2jz was co engineered by Yamaha... So, I fail to see where all this negativity is coming from... Get a bmw if you want... Get supra if you want... Learn to live and let live bro
