So last November at the last track test and tune for the season Jeremys 01 Mustang gt blew the head gasket and torched a couple of pistons. We finally got enough time to put it back together.
Fell into a RU-vid loop of your videos because I wanted to carb swap my 5.0, started your videos and didn’t really end till about a morning after 😂 GREAT QUALITY VIDEOS! post more, updates would be great, keep it up!
What are you thoughts on keeping the stock 2V crankshaft for a 550RWHP long-block build? I see you guys making 700+ to the wheels on stock cranks. How do they hold up over time for you? I'm hoping to hit 550 at the wheels using my V-1 S trim at 15-ish pounds (Mod. Head Shop CNC'd PI heads with stage 2.5 cams).
We use a melling pre oiler now. Everyone has mixed reviews on what works best. Some builders say spin it over until it builds oil pressure and others say just start it up because the starter won't spin it over fast enough to build oil pressure.
Hey, i am doing a rebuild on my 2004 mustang gt. I want to get at least 400hp, what kind of pistons, rods, crankshaft should I get? Should I get forged ones? thanks and what website do you recommend?
A stock motor with a good tune can hold 400hp just fine. But since you're rebuilding it I would put a set of forged rods and pistons in. The stock crankshaft will be fine. You can look on MMR or modmax racing for some budget friendly stuff.
@@stevenbowen90 Would this work with a 04 Cobra crank? www.modmaxracing.com/product-p/22025622.htm .20, What would I have to do with the heads? Would 9.15:1 or 8.33:1 compressions be good? Is Dish Volume -20.5cc worth it?
Where in Georgia are you guys? I live just outside of Savannah. Starting a Teksid 2V build at the moment on my 2001 Gt. Looking to add a supercharger next year.
We did for a while. The 01 has a manley forged crankshaft and the red car has a stock crankshaft but I'm about to switch it for a forged one also. We both made over 700hp to the tires on stock crankshafts
I installed hitech stage two camshafts and got a bama sct tune but sometimes when I come to a stop 🛑 sign r red light the car idle up and down and then cut off then I crank back up and play with the gas pedal with my foot 🦶 to stay running what cause that
vortech2v quick question besides putting oil in the oil pump what priming technique did you use did you simply turn the engine without the fuel pump fuse or did you pump it through the piece on the oil filter housing to prime your motor
When the motors are new they dont spin over fast enough to build oil pressure. We put assembly lube in the oil pump when we install it so it's not dry. We just start them like normal and they build oil pressure right away.
