Turner is talking about bringing back NFL games on TNT within the next few years.

Hope eventually the Sunday NFL games are televised similar to that of the early rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The AFC games would air on CBS, TBS, TNT, and TRU TV. The NFC games could air on FOX, FS1, FS2, and FX. ESPN would do a Monday night doubleheader every week, and NBC and NFL Network doing a Thursday night game.

And no mention of the best defensive player in the history of football…Lawrence Taylor. You feared LT more than Reggie White. Teams restructured offenses to stop LT, not Reggie.

Why did TNT televise the first 8 Sunday night games, and ESPN had the rest?What a strange TV contract that was.
@fantasticvoyage262

+Kim Martin And despite that, ESPN was still allowed to have NFL Primetime in their original time slot.Now, lousy NBC has their pregame show at that time, and ESPN can't air NFL Primetime at that time.I crappier version of NFL Primtime is aired at midnight the next day with Trey Wingo, Merril Hodge, and Matt Hasselbeck.It just isn't as good withouth Berman and Jackson, and I hate having to wait 24 hours after all the games for the show.I hope NBC loses their TV rights when they are up.
@fantasticvoyage262

+Kim Martin Because I miss NFL Primetime on Sunday nights with Berman and Jackson.Or someone should allow ESPN to air NFL Primetime at the same time as NBC's pregame show just like they did when TNT had their coverage in the '90s.NBC's coverage, until the last few years, was always subpar to FOX and CBS in my opinion.Jim Rampley somehow replaced Bob Costas in their studio for some dumb reason in the '90s, and many of their announcers were boring.NBC still has Notre Dame football.If ESPN and NBC switched SNF and MNF then I would be OK with that as ESPN would still air NFL Primtime from 6:30-7:30 just like they used to back in the golden days.Also, ESPN needs to bring back Mike Patrick, Paul McGuire, and Joe Theisman to call the games.They were so much better than Tirico and Gruden.

+Kim Martin I will agree with you there.Today's pregame shows are crap.So sick of FOX putting lame comedians on their pregame show with one stupid "prediction" after another.Go look here for FOX's awesome pregame shows in the '90s.I loved those!NBC's pregame show isn't bad, but I hate the annoying camera angles they often show during highlights.Just stick with the live CBS and FOX sideline view with all the highlights.Hate the crappy camera angle behind the end zone they often use to show highlights.

+Kim Martin My bad, it was Jim Lampley who replaced Costas on NBC back in the '90s.Bad decision there.

+Kim Martin I don't remember that, but it doesn't surprise me.There is a lot of nonsense on pregame shows today that isn't funny.For years FOX stupidly continues to air the Frank Caliendo impersonations and dumb game predictions that are never funny!I agree, pregame shows were a lot better when all the junk filler was excluded.You are right, NBC's pregame show wisely doesn't air crap like that.I love watching the old FOX pregame shows in the '90s with the awesome narrator and animated intros at the beginning.I rarely watch pregame shows anymore because they are so bad.I hated Marino, so I am glad he is gone.He never offered any interesting takes.I liked Sharp because he was never afraid to speak his mind.

the only way we could possibly see NFL on TNT return would be if Warner media would acquire ViacomCBS having CBS absorb turner sports and negotiate with NFL to give them a new prime time day on tnt

Next season, TNT will bring back the NFL, this time on Thursday night, with Adam Schein as the pre-game host on the studio in Atlanta, Brett Favre, Cris Carter, Luke Kuechly and Brian Billick as the studio analysts, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report as the contributor, Joe Tessitore as the play-by-play announcer, Tony Gonzalez and Vince Wilfork as the color commentators and Andrea Kremer as the sideline reporter.
