Another world. Westlake was very well coached and highly disciplined. If I had to pick an MVP, # 12 the sure handed punt returner. The game was fun to watch.
I was impressed by the punt returner, as well, but I don't remember any returns, just fair catches. MVP over the receiver who scored 3 touchdowns?! Or the quarterback who threw, I think it was 4TD passes?!
Guyer played West Lake tuff in the beginning of the game but hats off to the rich kids out the rolling hills of Austin Damn they can flat out ball. It’s not hype those kids are the real deal…
I'll never understand why corners play with their backs turned away from the qb and the receiver. You face the receiver and qb and use the sideline as a defender and you can read and react better to the ball and watch what the qb is doing. I played safety in highschool and college and never had a fade or deep ball caught defending that way.
This is because they’re playing a trail technique which is usually the technique played when there a 2-man under call. Sometimes it’s definitely because the defensive back is beat. Keep in mind well coached receivers will midline a DB to eat up his cushion and slow his back pedal.
I played for Austin westlake that year we were balanced out we had 58 rush tds and 59 passing tds nobody even came close to beating us that year we were 319-58 all playoff scores combined they will never have a Chaparrals squad like we did in those back to back seasons still will never forget when we upset north shore 🏆🔴🔵⚪️
Their are actually 12 different state finals, which depend on school enrollment numbers. The smallest division, 1A, have around 75 students. The largest division, 6a, average around 2500 students, but also includes 'Mega' schools like Allen, TX. They have over 6000 students. www.uiltexas.org/athletics/conference-cutoffs
@@TexasTone Holy moly! Thank you. Is this something that happens in all states or is Texas the only one, or do you know about other states? That is amazing to have 12 different finals for one state. Also, do all 12 finals winners get to face each other in a 12 team playoff for OVERALL Texas champion?
What state do you live in that only has 1 championship game? Here in Michigan we have 8 championship games plus the 8-player championship and we’re like half the size of Texas 🤣
