It’s fun to watch Light played. I watched a few games of his, last one was the dark Templar dropped, and the Wraith play was really fun and effective catching middle reaver drops. Thank you Artosis!
always scary in a PvT when after each engagement you lose half your army, pulls back, and terran don't lose any tanks. and you just watch the tank count gets higher and higher then it's all over
Felt like there were so many opportunities for Protoss to commit to fights when Terran was out of position and he would have won (for example the battle outside toss’s third where he could have wrapped around and attacked from the high ground) but he was too afraid and dint have enough information. Game could have gone differently with two engagements where the Protoss stomped. But Light clearly played better, unsurprisingly.
“The siege tank in siege mode is just slightly longer range than the reaver” 08:30 its actually quite a bit more reach Reavers have 8 range and sieged tanks 12 So the difference is the same as the range of an unupgraded dragoon marine or hydra
12:40 why don't they just wait until the reaver is dead before they bring their scvs back in? i've seen this multiple times, sometimes it leads to huge numbers of additional scvc getting killed for no reason whatsoever.
Even though you don't have an advantage in the game, you haven't lost. I know that after such a Protoss invasion, I tend to dwell on defeat and play as a loser, rushing things. This Terran player was patient, didn't waste tanks, disrupted the opponent a lot, and built up their advantage. The key is patience + wraith, and I believe game intelligence. PGT = Olympic rank. Toss is just A.
Protoss threw away like 20 supply of zealots near the end trying to run through Light's massive minefield. He needed some hallucinated zealots or something because that just wasn't gonna cut it. And yeah the recovery was insane by Light, flat out showing who the stronger player was through the vast majority of this match. Crazy how not repairing that bunker enough set him back so far.
Thoughts on the P attack at 14:08? And then, regardless of whether you consider the attack to be good attack or not, thoughts on the retreat at 14:27? Same question for the P attack at 21:00 into the retreat at 21:11. Put differently: After attacking into entrenched siege tank positions like here, is it generally considered better to do a painfully costly retreat, or to keep attacking at the risk of losing the entire army?
I think he could've pushed on with the14:08 attack and walked the goons right up on the tanks. Wouldn't have won but he would've reduced the tank numbers and ended up with a better trade then he got from taking that engagement and retreating like he did. Retreating at 21:00 made more sense, his units wasn't even close and there was plenty of vultures still around to meat wall. If he had pushed that attack further he would've lost everything and it would've been gg.
Bottom-*Right*... I love when I'm transported into opposite world! Plus also!!! OH NO, the 3Dimensional Arch - i.e. he's in a bubble! But wait... how do people NOT get upgrades? I don't get it... When you say no upgrades at 13:15 and he's 'Tried/Focussed' on denying Terran upgrades, but then doesn't even do any for himself. That's so weird. The moment you have 10 or more of a unit getting +1/+1 is worth it. And that's the very earliest part of the game.
Protoss couldn't get early upgrades in this game, because he went fast tech to reavers. All his gas was being spent on other stuff. He could have made a couple fewer goons to get a forge and weapons upgrade, but personally I'd rather have the goons. Eventually, the upgrades are obviously worth it, and he does get them.
14:52 - the marines are right there, dude >_< You spent like a whole minute talking about Light not having any marines while they were in the middle of the screen lol.
I was just thinking that it was great patience by Light. He just moved back and forth holding the middle of the map until he had one great engagement and could push through. It felt reminiscent of his play against Rain in the ASL 13 Finals.
I skip all PvP's and ZvZ's, and some PvZ's, but othereise I watch every Terran game you upload. I don't even play the game, so it's not like I main a race, but I find TvZ's and TvP's more entertaining.
Dear Artosis, I love your casts; you cast a lot of great games and cast a lot of light on the inner workings of this great game. However, "casted" is not a word. Tell Tasteless too, thanks mate!
"Here is Light the best player in the world." -> proceeds to completely get wrecked by a cheese he scouted with a high ground on his natural, against a 2600 player. You keep saying Light is the best player but I don't think that means what you think it means.
No, viewers talking and commenting about the game is how RU-vid channels grow and viewers share their perspectives. Don't read comments before watching the video if you don't want spoilers.
