i used to spam lan games on big game hunters with a friend against all random CPU.. had a blast as a kid.. then later watched husky starcraft commentary and the grass roots eng. cast.. and then broodwar kept me alive as i need to make atleast enough money to buy prepaid internet for a tablet.. to watch some flash x jaedong finals.. then SC2 happened.. and here i am today.. closing the circle.. what a life with brood war.. and all of you..

Flash outplayed himself here by stasis on almost all tanks, then zealots.arrived and found out that they have to fight vultures only, and they just couldn't do it.
No he just made mistakes. First of all you should stasis the tanks in the back, not the ones in front, otherwise you're making barriers for yourself. But more importantly, his Dragoon count was non-existent. There were only 8 Dragoons and they went in first before the Zealots, got melted in no time by Tanks and then you're fighting Terran's army with pure Zealots which doesn't work at all.
revealed flash's protoss weakness in drops. he lost the game there. dropped so many dragoons for nothing other than canceling his +2. he misjudged his attack and misplayed by stasis-ing the wrong tanks. @@spinvn
It looked ok for flash until the re-calls. You could argue that the first one was worth it since it got +2 attack even though it cost him like 20 supply relative to fantasy, but the second one really sealed the deal. A toss that is down like 20 army supply has basically no chance of stopping a terran push, especially not with that short push distance.
Saying perfectly timed is just wrong. Flash has a window that he knows about but he's not keeping track of the fucking seconds involved before it finishes. Mostly luck getting it in the last minute or whatever was left. If it was perfectly timed he wouldn't have waited til the last second...
@@Szgerle but he doesn't know the Armory with the +2 attack would be placed there. The recall timing and the +2 timing are generally in line with each other that's why you see this kind of stuff happens.
@@Szgerle Sure, what's the point of even playing then when the opponent has memorized your build and keeps a running tally accurate to the second of everything that you do? You'd win every game if you had perfect knowledge like that. No, wait, Flash lost this game. Hmm, I sense a problem with your thought process. Flash is a machine, effortlessly keeping track of 30 different timings, to the second, while playing. Yeah, no, you're just a moron. You might as well conclude that things are magic.
SICK game. Great cast! The level of play never ceases to amaze me. I wish I could convey the skill to friends who haven’t watched StarCraft before but you just can’t unless you understand.
Ha same I was rooting for Fantasy all the way. Only Protoss I root for vs Terran are Bisu or Stork… Shuttle too if he still exists. Jangbi as well since he had awesome high Templar play.
If terran Turtles up and does hold position 3 siege tank at the top of the ramp while the dragoons are attacking the bunker they can get a huge Volly and kill a few dragons for free
Flash the impervious and Fantasy the swift are the two patron saints of Terran, the male and the female, the yin and the yang, the two archetypical styles. Most mortal Terrans try to channel one of the two. (Other gods of the Terran pantheon include Boxer the ingenious and Oov the cheater (who begat Fantasy))
Artosis saying fantasy had to have 7 factories by the time he got the third gas and should improve his game is questionable. Fantasy controlled flash, added more three factories, expanded, controlled all of flashs punches and went for the kill. Imo we all should add our factories later lol. What fantasy would have achieved at the moment of flashs first attack? Less tanks and less vultures. All the spares resources were used to replenish troops after the first attack of prottoss.
7:00 Flash just walked 6 Dragoons and 2 Zealots into Terran's Bunker and 3 Tanks in siege mode. If someone does this to Artosis on the ladder he would call them a stupid B rank Protoss ape .... "He's sooooooooo bad" lol
So 5 factory are just perfect. 55 workers seems more optimal since both had same number of workers. Fantasy stomped flash on quarter finals their last league and still shows he is under rated.
I feel like every PvT I see lately where the Protoss goes early Arbiter almost never results in a Protoss win. I'd be very curious to see the stats on winrate on this build specifically at the pro level. It just seems like every time the flow goes something like... 1-2 recalls onto the Depot's / Armory happens and gets cleaned up, then the P gets caught with his pants down and with no supply when the T moves across the map with tanks. Like in this game Flash still had a solid economy, but just blew his supply on these recalls which didnt do much to effect the game state. Like Imagine if Flash had a maxxed out gatewayman army in that last fight with those stasis. Would of been totally different. TLDR it just feels like the top Terran's have solved this Arbiter playstyle.
During the late Kespa era, Arbiters were king, but recall were risky. You use them for stasis to eliminate parts of the siege line. Recalls that doesn't take out a base is almost never worth it. Flash actually did well with stasis. The problem was the recalls and slow expanding. Arbiters haven't been solved. It's just that protoss figured out that mass shuttles with zealot bombs can achieve the same thing with more flexibility, while making zealots more cost efficient as anti tank units, which is their only purpose in this matchup.
~2000-2012. Kespa = Korea e-Sports Association. It essentially ran a formal league of teams in BW. There was a team league with regular season and a champioship, and two tournaments similar to ASL. In 2012 the teams switched over to SC2 (and dissolved in 2016). Players had salary based contracts with teams, teams had their own team residence, coaches, etc. Most players were drafted after winning an edition of the amateur "Courage" tournament. Pretty much everyone in the ASL was on one of those teams as a teenager.

As a protoss player it feels somehow weird to see flash dismantle another top terran like this. All the original protoss stars like bisu, ruin, mini etc. have not been doing so well the last couple of ASLs and were always dominated at some point by a Zerg or Terran, so that you actually start to doubt if the race itself has any chance against the current meta of tvp and zvp. Seing Flash turning the cards is satisfying on the one hand but it also reminds me of a soccer team which buys the best player from a rivaling team in order to dominate them in the next season, because they couldn't do it on their own...
Search StarCraft broodwar gamers8 fantasy and I think u will find. It was a Saudi Arabian championship that happened some months ago with fantasy, bisu, jaedong and stork. Some good games. Happened with SC2, other games and our loved brood war.
