I worked out on the Total Gym / GR8FLEX consistently for 1 month and here are the results.
The goal was to increase intensity and resistance as each workout progressed until I maxed out the machine. After workout #15 & #16, I pretty much plateaued and the gains that I developed were maintained. Reach me in the comments with any questions.

Yeah , and there are still people who say that total gym/gr8flex/sliding bench trainer don't work. Ahhaahhaha. But it definitely did!

The sliding bench is absolutely capable of producing results (e.g., increased muscle strength & definition). The takeaway for me was the more I increased resistance (elevation and resistance bands) the more strength & muscle mass I built. This is typically true for any exercise training when focusing on strength & mass. Thanks for the support!

Yo been doing these excersices on my moms GR8Flex and it is amazing my legs,shoulders,and arms are so strong I lost 10 Lbs

Thank you! Yes, the resistance bands were key in the strength building process. I maxed out the standard GR8FLEX bands (50lbs), and then upgraded to the 90lbs resistance bands in the workouts. Appreciate the support.

I also have a garage gym. Many years ago I tried a Total Gym, but returned it. Probably didn't give it a fair shot. I'm currently trying to decide between a TG and a Functional trainer. I like the price of the Gr8flex, but the lack of a weight bar option is causing me to wait on a TG to go on sale. You and I have the same body type, so I'm interested in seeing your progress. My goal is to gain 10-15# of muscle. Currently 5'9" 143#. Curious what your goals are? Keep up the good work!

I can relate to your story. I had my first Total Gym many years ago and would use it off and on. One day I decided to use it consistently, and was satisfied with the results. My fitness goals are to increase strength and muscle definition, to do this, I need lots of resistance (hence the reason I upgraded the GR8FLEX resistance bands to 90#). I’ve found another ways to increase resistance on the GR8FLEX (I.e., weighted vest). If I can offer some advice - if the Total Gym Fit and GR8FLEX were the same in price, I would choose the TG Fit. Reason being that having the option to add weighted plates is a game changer especially that you can also utilize resistance bands on the TG Fit as well. Hope this helps!

I had purchased two TOTAL GYM machines in the past. A few months ago, following recommendations from those around me, I bought a GR8FLEX. This decision was the right one. Not only is the price half that of TOTAL GYM, but the weight is more than a third heavier, offering greater stability. It also includes all the accessories. When considering the total cost, it is more than half the price lower than TOTAL GYM. TOTAL GYM is just an older brand, and beyond that, there's not much else to compare.

Hey Matt - I’ve always been curious to see how it matches up with the GR8FLEX. So the purchase was mostly to compare and create more content on my channel. I recently purchased the TG Fit as well and will be doing an unboxing, review, and comparison video in the near future. Hope this helps!
