Very impressive. I can see why Brad Holmes & Dan Campbell took a chance on the Detroit Lions. She convinced them she wanted to establish a brand new day for this team, believed in these two gentlemen to do the job, & gave them the authority to do what they knew was necessary to properly change the culture the & the team into a winning one. She hired these exceptional football people & deserves to be included in the credit given for the hope so many of us are feeling towards this team.

I understand the frustration throughout the years. ( Trust me I'm one of them) But the lack of understanding that she is there but FINALLY an owner for the Lions who is letting people that know and love the game of football ( Holmes , MCDC etc) run the football operations. She is truly what we've needed for so many years. She's involved but understands what she doesn't understand and has hired incredibly competent people to run the organization. I applaud her and am excited for the future. Thank you Sheila.

This interview did an incredible job of humanizing her and giving us valuable insight into her perspective. It makes so much sense that she used tennis to prove herself in a way that couldn’t be accredited to the family she was born into. Subsequently being the first freshman class of women at Yale, being rejected a job in the NFL immediately after college, and then watching her mother in the board rooms leading up to her becoming principal owner has primed her for this job to a degree I can’t even fathom. She’s got a glorious chip on her shoulder to prove both herself and the Lions franchise, and I now have no question that the great hires she’s made were far from serendipitous.

I remember being at the silver dome in Pontiac and the was a Holiday in about a mile from the stadium and that where the Lions and a lot of times the team they were playing would stay there, at the time we didn’t know this a we booked our room this was 1992 I believe and I remember seeing the team there and we met Barry and Spielman and Mel Grey and Bennie Blades and Scott Mitchell and on Sunday befor the Mr Ford and his family came to the Hotel for the team’s breakfast and I remember seeing Ms Shelia Ford that day. At the time had no clue who she was but now I remember seeing her there, I was 13 years old and I never would have thought it would take almost 30 years for my team to finally get it right and the team would run the way it should be and it would be that young woman in the lobby I saw that day. At that time I never would have believed it, a woman running the Lions and that she would run the team better than anyone before her. I’m thankful times have changed and Ms Ford it now in charge.

It’s great to learn more about her story and learn about how “hands on” she is about the Detroit Lions program with Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell. I grew up watching the Detroit Lions during the Ford Family ownership era from the 1980s to present with the amazing Wayne Fontes, Barry Sanders, Chris Spielman, Herman Moore, Lomas Brown, Erik Farmer, Jason Hanson, Dan Campbell, Jim Caldwell, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell, Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford, Matt Prater, Darius Slay, Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones Jr., Jared Goff, David Blough, D’Andre Swift, Penei Sewell, Josh , Julian Okwara, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jeff Okudah, Craig Reynolds, Jamaal Williams, Amani Oruwariye, Charles Harris, Jeffrey Jacobs, current Lions’ rookies Aidan Hutchinson, Jameson Williams, Greg Bell, and players, and so much more.
