A prime example would be letting DBs hold DK Metcalf past the five yards as "letting them play" but Woolen makes a great play on a critical down and he catches a DPI. Yeah that was an illegal shift. I like the Dolphins but #0 has committed a pretty basic Illegal Shift. When he and #26 were simultaneously in motion, now both must come to a complete stop before the snap, with no player continuing to overlap another’s motion, for the shift to be legal. So after #26 stopped moving while #0 was still in motion, #0 must also come to a complete stop if he wants to then continue in motion during the snap. But he didn’t really stop because he was trying to hurry to avoid Delay Of Game.
