As a firearm enthusiast and American consumer, I thank you Rob, for your time, passion, and honest opinion on everything AK (and other topics too sometimes). Knowledge IS power.
Personally I don't think you are unfair to any manufacturer. If they build something that sucks. The 2A community is better off knowing that information. Hard earned money is hard earned money.
So glad I got my Saiga when I did. Bought it years ago when they first came out. Dealer got tired of lugging it around and sold it to me for 199.00. Best investment I ever did. Been shootin it ever since.
@snoopy dubnation I've got 1 AK. It's a Romanian SAR-1. Bought it for 395$ during the Brady ban while Bill Clinton was in the White House. I didn't have the money @ the time to get 2 & now they are so expensive I don't know that I'll ever have a 2nd one. This has worked flawlessly & I'll never sell it! Ever! Now if I could only get Bill Clinton to sign the stock!😏
Another great video from Rob! I bought a Zastava m70 zpap recently and i love it!! I was watching your reviews on the rifle before i purchased it and im glad i did! AK fan forever!
I got a wasr 10 almost 14yrs ago and I opened the magwell (halfass) and put a stock and grip and it stayed in my safe cause I was lazy about finishing 922r cause I got into concealed carry. With the corona virus and riots I cleaned the dust and rust off the wasr and ordered a US made trigger group to finish 922r and I just discovered all your great and informative video and I cant believe I abandoned my ak like I did. Thanks for all you do for us and keep up the good work and since last month I fixed and cleaned up the magwell changed the trigger and I have it up and running. The best part is I got my wasr for $165 and it came with the original Dunham's box from the 80's
Protect your hearing Rob. You only have one set of ears. Between all the .22 w/o earplugs when I was a kid, a stint as an artilleryman in the '70's, and other youthful arrogance, I'm dealing with tinnitus badly....I can still hear but the ringing never stops and hearing over background noise is tough sometimes. Audiologist says my loss isn't extreme, but damn, those little yellow earplugs cost nothing. I wish I'd have used them more all those years ago.
Rob just wanted to say I appreciate your honest, no B.S. reviews and the testing you put these rifles through is a lot more extensive then most of us ever will. So just wanted to say a quick thanks and keep it up!!
Rob Your testing is invaluable and I support you 100%, I’ve watched all of your videos and never got the impression you were being biased. For me I trust you and your testing more than any other gun RU-vid channel. I will always be here for you and support your channel and store.
I usually do not like just talking videos, but you covered allot of very important topics and you seriously come across as a very honest guy! I know I appreciate that very much, and I bet others do too. You have a Very Good Channel here my friend. :) 🥳😎👊👍🇺🇸. Beretta Sr. From the Beretta9MMUSA Channel.
Dude, it's great that your hearing has improved! I have hearing loss myself and I use plugs and muffs both when I shoot. Gotta protect what I have left.
Thanks for the info sir. I'd love to see you interviewed about why gun ownership is important. No one in the US has experienced real government oppression, and been forced to oppose it with empty hands.
I second this. What was it like growing up with a socialist government? Rob I respect you for not making AKOU’s content politically focused and hope you keep it that way, but would love to hear about your own real world experience living in a Warsaw Pact nation during the Cold War?
@@Matt_Moore Live was shit, empty shelves, military service for 2 years. No future. Yet in bad times strong people are made, today it changed ;/ people are getting weeker. But let me tell you, if you know Polish history. There was a great well known teacher that in 1939 sad that his students are the weekest and badest he know. History showed how wrong he was so there is always hope. Hallo to America from Poland.
A co-worker is selling me a Saiga converted AK with 1300 rounds for $300. The wife is pretty pissed about the purchase but I’d be a damn fool not to buy it.
@CryMeAriver I personally put 15000 through one of mine..did torture tests with it ,shot it under water..and when i sold it had no parts breakage it was 4 moa amd the action was getting buttery smooth 😆
Rob, excellent Q&A! With AK prices climbing like a kid being chased up a tree by a bear, I am thankfull I got my AKs in the beginning of the market opening up. By the way, in my humble opinion, you are the number 1 source of AK information and the best youtube AK channel! As far as collecting firearms, we are all guilty of having G.A.S. Gun aquisition syndrome!!! If congress would get off thier asses and pass the national hearing protection act, thereby eliminating the $200 tax stamp for suppressors, the benifit for many people's hearing would be very substancial...
I have taken your opinion as the truth for years, because you back it up. A picture is worth a thousand words, and you are very honest. That is why EVERYBODY loves you.
It's great your hearing is bouncing back Rob.. I was a toolmaker/machinist for 30 years, not so lucky & now wear hearing aids. To everyone that shoot often please wear muffs over plugs or use suppressors.
Hey Rob. About 2 years ago, I knew little to nothing about the AK platform. Now, I own a VEPR (5.45), M74, WASR-10, SLR-107, Galil Ace in 5.56, and just got a PTR 32 the other day, and all of my AK accessories I buy from your store. Thanks for what you do for the AK community.
Have been following now for some time, have bought various items from AKOU website and most recently sold my C39v2. The new Zastava M70 ZPAP comes Tuesday! Yeah Baby. Thanks to Bob and his no "bullshit" talk concerning reviews. Would like to see an updated review on the PTR 32 Gen II 762x39, maybe a 5,000 rounder review? In any case, keep the reviews and updates coming, they are really guuuuuud.
I too live in the sticks. Internet sux but neighbors don't complain about gunfire at all times of day. Everyone does it and it's great fun trying to guess what rounds your neighbors are shooting!
Our hearing and safety for our ears... this is something that we don't discuss enough in our shooting world. I am so happy to hear that your hearing is improving. Hearing can be life or death for us. I think this is the one angle we must continue to emphasize when advocating for deregulation of suppressors. It's really criminal that we must register and pay extortion tax for a vital piece of gear that can save milllions from hearing deterioration. "Silencer hysteria" should be stomped out in this next decade. 👌🏾
Guys, here is working link to AKOU Store: www.shop.akoperatorsunionlocal4774.com/main.sc Sometimes forwarding for www.AK4774.com isn't working and I can't post direct link in video description without pissing off gun grabbers...
Rob, your refutation of communism almost brought me to tears. I too came here from another country and I also understand how precious our Republic is. We must stand tall against this garbage
I'm so glad I got my Saiga when I did. Best $350 I ever spent. I should have bought several but hindsight is 20/20. Thanks for your continued awesome content.
Hey Rob, look into Space X Starlink internet, Its not out yet but will be soon, I also live way out in the sticks and I am waiting on it very expectantly. It is supposed to be just as fast if not faster than modern land-based internet.
Robski has made me a better AK guy. My AKs are tuned. They hit their targets and are reliable. And FUN to shoot. I am a better prepared American because of Robski. Thank You for Your service.
I literally put my AR in the safe and bought 3 AKS over the last year and I'm hooked... It's my primary and I'd count on it to protect myself or my family.
All the people complaining AR's are better, no, AK's are better. Whichever gun you think is best, just get one. And practice with it. Both are good guns. I own numerous versions of each. Rob you were talking about the imported guns. I got my AK's back in the day, Chinese Norinco Underfolder 7.62, also a Saiga. In the AK 74 I got the Saiga 5.45 and the Bulgarian. They all work great, and I've never regretted any of them.
I watch every video of yours I can ! First GREAT JOB ! My comment is I don't feel you hate import or American AKs I feel your passion is YOU LOVE ALL GOOD QUALITY AKs ! In search of the perfect one !
Im SOOOOOOO grateful i snagged a Arsenal Sam7 when I did! When I bought it. The guy told me they only had a few left at the time. So Guys If you can get something. GET IT NOW & buy more ammo NOW
I love the 74 market now, with the ammo available and 74 bakes and plums everywhere now. It’s a buyers market! Just picked up another 74 yesterday! A waffen werks 74 with under 1k rounds down the barrel with 3 East German bakes and 1000 rounds of 7n6 for $900!!! All parts matching Bulgarian kit, buying a dozen plums tomorrow 😊
I don't care where it's made. I loved my Polish M1960 because of the quality and function. But when I had the opportunity to upgrade to the Arsenal SAM7R-61 I just could not resist. Now you know I'm a fan of the milled guns.
I really love all of your videos Rob Ski! You have inspired me to go out and buy my first AK and i am so in love with it. Thank you for all of the awesome content and information that you provide to us!
I live in South Central Missouri about 20 miles from Houston, Missouri and fully understand the internet issues. My phone is the best internet I can afford and is better than any other I can get for the same money.
Hey Rob, good vid! I got my WASR a couple years ago and fitted it with the TDI rail, cheese grater guard and the Cyclops optic and mount combo from your store and couldn't be happier with it. Gotta say it looks pretty slick. What we have to learn in the US is to anticipate our firearms needs rather than waiting till the last minute because now, at least where I live, finding an AK or any other semi-auto rifle in 7.62 or 5.56 is nearly impossible and those you can find you're gonna pay more than a premium price. Long live the AK and Robski!
Thanks to Covid19 and Civil Unrest I chose the PSA GF3 blem rifle. The M70 was sold out. A gun shop near me had a new Century Wasr 10 but they wanted $899.00 before tax. Thanks to Rob's 5000 round reviews I went GF3 for $599.00. Came with Magpul MOE furniture and I'm still looking for the blemish. I added Midwest Industries ak47 side mount and Romoe5 red dot. Then the Krebs Custom safety with bolt hold open notch. Next BD2 muzzle brake. I already had the Magpul MS1 QD sling. Now I'm set for accessories and rifle for about the WASR 10 price with tax added on. Now the problem is keeping enough ammo to wear in the action. Honestly I don't think I'll ever get 5,000 rounds down the barrel if this panic buying keeps up! Thanks Rob gor the honest reviews. I have combat toothpicks stored in the grip just in case!
I’d like to get another M70 or Arsenal. One to shoot and one to squirrel away as an investment. The AK I shoot mainly is a Lancaster… Basically Inter Ordinance 1.0. There early production models were well liked in 2007.
I personally think with regards to companies that are sub par in terms of QC or whatever it may be, we should encourage them to do better than crapping on them. Spreading the message of “Don’t buy that company, they suck” is hurting them more than helping them improve on what issues they have. I own a C39V2 and it has not failed me and I know the reputation Century Arms has. I would rather them improve than stop making their rifles.
Thanks, Rob. You always are a great source of AK knowledge. I was able to grab a 16 inch 7.62 VEPR from Atlantic back when they were about 600 bucks and came with a bullet guide, double stack magazine, and a 74 style muzzle brake. With help from your channel and other RU-vid sources, I learned how to pimp it out with an M4 Stock, pistol grip, railed hand guard, and RS Regulate optic mount. Sadly, RU-vid no longer allows modifications to weapons and the days of 600 Russian AKs are long gone. My point is that you are 100% correct...buy imported rifles while you still can! I hope you are correct that American gun makers will always be around...about 1/2 of the country will vote for a candidate that wants to put them out of business.
Rob, thanks to you, I've been able to gain some great Kalash knowledge. I started with a RAS47, and after watching you for a while now, I sold it and bought a Arsenal SLR-107R. Keep the videos coming. Thank you for what you do.
*YOUR reviews are the best - your knowledge of AKs and firearms in general, is outstanding, and your use of "off the shelf" rifles for your reviews - not letting the factory send you a hand picked 'special' - lets us have the straight scoop. You are one of a kind and besides that - NO other RU-vid host shows respect to the Pirates' Union! Glad your hearing is better - mine has been also damaged by firearms and I am glad you stressed that ALL people should use some kind of ear pro!!! All the best to you and all your beautiful family - two legged and four.*
Start my dros for the M70 with bulged trunnion this week (10 day waiting period because patriot behind enemy lines) and I cant wait!!! Hopefully mine came from a batch that was made after rivet gate became a thing haha
Bought a wasr 10 for $450 from a relative, it came with 5 mags, It hasn't even been broken in yet, I legitimately couldn't be happier with my purchase 💪 can't find em under $700 around here (s.a TX).
Man, one thing I've always wondered if there is ever any chance you guys could get your hands on a Chinese rifle to put it through the paces. I certainly understand a MAJOR hurdle there is with the cost associated with what might result in destroying a legitimately rare rifle... but man I've always been so curious. Anyhow, just wanted to take another opportunity to say thanks for all the work you put into this for us... I can't think of a single other creator that puts this much effort into videos and testing and still sticks around to comment on anything that deserves addressing. Seriously, thank you again for all you guys do.
