Time to put some stress on the Century Arms BFT47. All weather seasons covered in the one episode! Welcome to the Ozarks! Support AKOU Channel, shop at the AKOU store: www.AKOUL4774.com
I'm always hopeful for more AK makers here in the USA, and Rob is the perfect man to get to the bottom of things. I don't believe anyone wants just a plinking rifle in this day and age, we need go to war guns. Keep up the good work Rob.
I purchased a few of these for my store. I have been using, and selling Century AKs for years now and I must say, these BFT 47s are some of the best looking AKs I have ever seen come out of the US Century factory. Welcome back to the game Century Arms!
Any issues with the Century rifles you've sold? I keep hearing issues but very few firsthand accounts. Just curious. I own a VSKA and it's been great so far.
I don't own a BFT or an m70 but when a budget m70 be had for $850... Today's prices on atlantic are bft: $775, cheapest m70 config: $982. For $200 I think I'd go with the company that has shown they can get it right for decades.
@@ericsmith6677 how many have you owned? how many of the rifles you're talking about were made after they ditched century? I like wasrs but they have been a bit hit or missy over the years too.
I’m definitely going to rewatch your videos on recoil control. The way you control that 7.62 is awesome. Especially with no muzzle break. Thanks for your insight!
Eagerly awaiting my BFT, it’s in my wife’s car(she bought it, anniversary present).looking forward to using this rifle for hog hunting. Hopefully good dusty conditions and rough handling won’t be a problem.
I will say I owned aVSKA and ran flawlessly snd accurate for 5000 rounds but sold it to get an import. So I must say my experience was bad but I know century has just been plagued by issues in general
These are exceptionally well-built a case. The only issue I had with mine was the front sight was canted what seems to be an ongoing issue with anything actually built by Century Arms. You would think they would have this resolved by now. It was a complete and total nightmare to try to drive out the hardened pins and move the sight over. It was not able to be adjusted out with the windage adjustment on the front site itself. And as you can clearly see the wood on these is absolute dog crap. Cheap American maple. The first thing I did was put on a laminated military surplus stock set that with the barrel being quite a bit larger I had to remove quite a bit of wood from the lower handguard. But outside of those two things excellent
I bought one of the master mounts and discovered the scallop cut on the rifle itself wasn't the problem, it was just that the cut itself was 5mm off center. This was just a small difference in parts CA uses. I used a dremel and took a little material off of the latch mechanism on the mount instead of cutting into the rifle and it fits just fine.
Rob, another fine video as always 👍. I believe your insights and opinions are very valuable to anyone interested in the AK platform. You and Ula's efforts are enjoyed and appreciated by all of us. I bought what I have based in large part on your honest reviews. Keep up the great work! It cracks me up every time you give a shout out "to the Pirates Union, A-a-a-a-rrrhhh" 😆😆😆
@@goodoleme747 very cool! I have a Zastava M70 as well and just snagged a GF5 from PSA! I’m very very happy with this GF5. It’ll be interesting in the next 5 years where psa end up because they’re doing great things over there. I’m thinking about snagging one of their “cheap” M4 kits and beating the piss out of it to test. I honesty get better groups with that GF5 compared to my M70. Now that being said it’s not much but is noticeable. That FN chromed lines barrel is top notch
That weather sounds like Michigan. -10 at night. 55° F during the day. Kalashnikov perfect for US! 😎 I wouldn't trade my Maadi AKM for anything. She runs perfect. I especially like the looks from the plastic black rifle boys at the range when they suffer a stove pipe, failure to feed, or their $3000 optic craps out and I'm rockin' my irons. 🤣 Luv'd the swamp test!!! Another good day Rob!
would love it if you could do a review/test on the new WBP 556SR Jack. Just picked one up and it feels like a beast of a machine. Plus it would give you a break from shooting 7.62x39 or 5.45 since alot of that stuff is drying up. The 5.56/.223 can be found basically anywhere
Is the back of the receiver just smooth metal or is there a hole to mount a stock to? Planning on getting one as the base of a faux AK12 but there seems not much info out there
@@Funkopotomis On the Jack? Both the 7.62 and 5.56 Jacks have a standard AKM receiver and rear, so once you pull the buttstock off it's a square hole like any AKM
I just bought one of these and everyone one said it doesn't have a chrome lined barrel it's a piece of crap but your showing to be otherwise thanks for the review.
I bought this gun and have only ordered a light mount for it. I have high hopes, it is exactly the ak profile I was looking for. NOTE TO CENTURY - overnight Rob a couple of cases of 7.62. He is selling this new rifle for you with his own ammo........ Thanks Century and thanks Rob. //ji
@Unknown User with all the misinformation out there about Russian build up at the Polish border, and all the westerners catching flights out to Eastern Europe to lend what aid they can, I wouldn't be surprised
If it survived 20k rounds I'd still be very leery of century... it would take a decade and many many properly built guns to ever turn that boat around. Century guns are like sentry safes... their market is for people who simply dont know any better or are being cheap.
Those Ridiculous Cuts in the Bolt Carrier are made to Act as a Counter Balance that Compensates for the Wobbly Bayonet when Mounted. Nothing to Worry about Folks, Century has it Figured out.
Thank You Rob for this review, I am interested in buying the BFT47 as my first AK47. I know that everyone recommends a more reputable brand but I find this one to fit my needs. I am glad that you are putting this rifle thru the paces and sharing your opinions on this rifle. Please keep up the good content and Thank You again for this great review.
If everyone recommends a more reputable brand, why don't you follow their advice? Buying a cheap AK is a false economy when you can have a reliable, long-lasting one for the additional expenditure of the cost of literally a few boxes of ammo.
So far it seems like a cheap option. I have a couple of CA rifles and they do what I expect them to do for the price I'd paid for them. Are they super-amazing go-to-war rifles? Nah. They're also not "ermagurd you bought a gurnade! You stoopid! You gonna die!" rifles like everyone who doesn't own one wants you to believe either. This is _my_ opinion. Do your research. Come to your own conclusions. ( ^,..,^)b
man the cheapest its gonna get for a while sadly this time 3 years ago 1000 rounds was 175 bucks I bought as much as I could but you can never have to much
They need to start making 7.62x39 AK pattern rifles with barrel twist rates that make sense. The roughly 1:10 barrel twist on most of these guns is terrible for stabilizing typical surplus 123 gr. bullets. This twist rate was selected for economical reasons, as it allowed the Soviets to continue to produce .30 cal barrels on the same old tooling they used for mosin nagant rifles. It made sense at the time for efficiencies sake, but they should have shifted production after the tooling wore out. Now the whole world thinks a 1:10 twist is the best way to produce 7.62x39 Kalashnikovs when in reality a 1:16 twist would be much better for typical surplus ammo.
Have been watching your reviews on this rifle hope it holds up.A few years ago I had a 39.Took it to the range. In less than 400rd. the bolt lugs and trunnion was so worn it was scariey .Hopefully Century has got their act together.
Had the same experience, plus the gas piston started get large gouges. The rifle was way out of spec, if you cycled the bolt with dust cover off it would jump the rails. Apparently the gas tube metal is harder than the metal on the piston. I sold that rifle after that first range trip. Century said it was normal wear, I've owned a number of aks, that is not the case
Rob, which AK currently available do you think is the best on the Market? Could you make a video on this subject going over options we currently have? Thanks.
Check out 9-hole reviews for their AK platform test. The Galil ACE came out on top, which makes sense for the price. Too bad the Arsenals are not still being made by Circle 10 arsenal.
Just went to one of my local FFL dealers and looked at this rifle. It looks good other than the cheap wood that can be replaced. I am really hoping that America got its shit together on AKs because eventually this administration will ban the importation of everything .. So far PSA and this new century model look decent
On the next btf torture test video, Rob sees how it handles against spetsnaz in Keiv, Russian regulars in Kharkov, as well as drivebys against convoys.
Not very happy with the looks of this one personally.. I’d take the KR-103 or KP-9 even over this any day regarding American manufactured AK’s. You’re the man Robski!
My wife is from Krakow (we lived in Poland for many years and want to go back. We are currently in Texas). She has a Polish WBP AK and wants to train with you! Do you still offer AK training classes?
