The M.Bison one is soooo effing stupid..... Capcom accidentally switched the 3 boss characters names around in the USA, In Japan Bison is Vega, Balrog, is M.Bison (a play on Mike Tysons name) and Vega is Balrog....

Benjamin Fugman Couldn't agree more. Recently found that out, and looking at the time of Balrog/boxer/M. Bison's release, plus the original animation of the character makes it obvious that he is a parody of the former champion boxer Mike Tyson. They didn't even attempt to hide the fact in the non US game. Hilarious.

phantomcyrano yep the reason CAPCOM of America changed the names around in such an awkward way was entirely to avoid flack from the whole Holyfeild incident. Pretty silly if you ask me since the original names weren't at all arbitrary, but the way they switched them around was. It seems to me like it would have been more efficient to just think up a new name for the boxer rather than mix around three whole names.

Uh, no, it's Mike. The names of M. Bison, Vega, and Balrog were all rotated when the game came out in English, because they were afraid of possible lawsuits from Mike Tyson. (English M.Bison was called Vega in Japan, English Vega was called Balrog, and English Balrog was called M.Bison.) All in all, the whole "M.Bison is Mario" thing makes no sense at all in the country where the games originated because of this name change.
