I was at the Chicago show when Punk beat Cena for the championship. It's, by far, the loudest thing I've EVER heard at ANY sporting event. I thought there was either going to be a riot, or the building would implode. Totally insane.
Hogan vs Rock at Wrestlemania X8 is the loudest I've heard a WWE crowd for legitimately the entire match. The crowd was so spent after this match, the main event between HHH and Jericho for the title, you could have legit heard a pin drop.
Daniel Mh If you think Jeff Hardy is a disgrace to the industry then you must be trolling. Guys who are more respected than Hardy have done worse look at Shawn Michaels. He was a piece of shit drug abuser and who only looked after himself and used whatever power he had backstage to his advantage. His career should not and never will be forgotten neither will Chris Benoit's career ( yeah I said it sue me ) both men have made sacrifices to buisness and payed the price Benoit suffering something way worse than internal injury. Honestly I don't even know why I even bother explaining this to you you're a Cena fan you don't understand why Jeff Hardy was awesome.
I totally fucking agree! I've never this pop mentioned anywhere in these lists that youtubers do and it's crazy to me. That Kane return with Paul Bearer in February 2000 had an insane pop, people in attendance said they couldn't even hear his music after Paul Bearer appeared, for a good 4 or 5 seconds you can barely even hear the music on the broadcast. Half of the more modern pops on this list aren't anything compared to that Kane 2000 return...
+Jay RPG Kane's entrance was the shit. That loud pyro combined with that music and scary ass mask was the best thing to ever come out of the Attitude Era. Kane was a straight up beast
Dolph cashing in Money in the Bank should not have been an honorable mention it was easily one of the loudest pops I have ever heard. It deserved to be on this list.
The Stoned Parrot you’re the fucking idiot. He said it shouldn’t have been just honorable because it’s the loudest. Basic fucking english and you can’t fucking comprehend.
The loudest I can recall was The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania. I've honestly never seen anything like that before in any kind of live event, even real sporting events and stadium rock shows.
+Napalm Blaziken the problem with that it was left so late (stings actual debut) that none of the younger kids knew who he was straight away. Had he come over say mid 00's then the POP could possibly have matched/beaten Foley.
***** I'm sick of this stereotype that a lot of kids don't know who someone is. Kids are much smarter than people like you give them credit. They knew who he was.
+Divaliciousedits greatest crowd reaction in history of sports was when hogan hulked up on the rock in toronto, never seen a frenzy of screaming like that in history, not just wrestling but any sport event.
a small note: earl hebner’s count is a crucial part of what made mick foely winning the loudest pop ever. his count is so slow and he lifts his entire up and around like a windmill. By the time his arm hits three, the crowd already knows the match is over and it causes incredible tension and the most subtle amounts of energy.
The pop on Raw when Jericho pinned Triple H to win the WWF Championship back in 2000, only lasted a night but people were literally jumping for joy in the crowd.
Undertaker's return at JUDGMENT DAY 2000 (American Badass), should be on there. I was there, and that place was ROCKING !!! The arena, Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY, isn't really that big, and I swear, I thought the roof was going to blow off !!! Always been a fan of wrestling, went to many, many shows, but that's my favorite moment I witnessed EVER !!!!!
My friend was at the Detroit show and he said it was deafining the pop in joe Louis arena for Shane o Mac, but I'm wondering where Daniel Bryan winning the title at 30 is, it woke everyone up from the quiet that was the ending of the streak and it was a monstrous pop.
Ultimate Warrior's theme popping when he won the IC title in 33 seconds...that was deafening, but that was before you were born, when wrestling was awesome
I have no time for Hulk Hogan. Never have and never will...was the biggest selfish prick ever in wrestling who has done way more harm to the business, even without the racism.
+esperCELL Styles hasn't even shown half of what he can do yet. His match against Reigns is going to change your mind. Plus, his tag match with Y2J against the New Day was the best Raw match of theyear.
***** I'm referring to when he was a wrestler in TNA. You can easily look back and see how excellent of a wrestler he was by that time. Its not particularly uncommon for the WWE to hire a wrestler from another company and then devise terrible story lines around them or give them little to no showing at all. In fact WWE has a history of bad story telling in general. They're basically the Saturday Night Live of wrestling.
Triple H got such a huge ovation because the WWF did an amazing job building crowd sympathy for him. Showing how terrible the injury was, and showing the incredible effort and work Hunter did to rehab it and come back. There was no way he *wasn't* coming back to massive babyface pop after that.
Daniel Bryan winning the Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30 should definitely be on this list! How do I know? Because I was there live in attendance inside the Superdome when it happened and I can tell you firsthand that the noise of the pop from the crowd was deafening!
Roman reign winning royal rumble should be no 1... it was bigger than Steve Austin pop !! Only difference it was BOOOOOOOOOOO instead of a cheer but loud enough for No. 1
Every once in a while, i return to the CM Punk entrance from MitB and feel happy again. The music, the cloud, the "it's clobbering time!" shout and best of all, i know where that all leads to. Punk beating Cena. What a day that was.
Hogan hulking up during his match with The Rock at WM 18 really should be here somewhere. That reaction was deafening. Actually, the entire match should be included, because it has probably the loudest crowd reaction I think I've ever heard in any match.
That's an incredible sound. I prefer it over Brown's double pop on his return. Daniel Bryan turning against the Wyatts is brilliant too - goes on for 10 mins haha.
man i miss this old stuff ......havent watched in like 10 yrs but im pretty sure 9/10 pops were back then......makes my skin crawl remembering these it was great
Um I gotta say I disagree on many. I have watched all of them and many others, and the AJ Styles Debut wasnt even that loud. Your mentioned Lesnar Return was a bigger pop, so was The Rock. But what about Kane's Return 2000 and honestly....Shane's Return ? It was so good....also Daniel Bryan. I found them all lowder and bigger than your numbers 10-6 Nothing better than Stone Cold's pops of course.
Austin was great, revived wrestling. Hogan made wrestling! It's hard to describe how great Hogan was to kids watching it now cause there is no one to compare him with.
I remember watching the Mankind v. Rock match in the barracks dayroom when I was in the Army. About two dozen guys were in there, all of us rooting for Mick Foley, and when he won the match... ho-lee shit. We lost our fucking minds. Was some fantastic booking and one of my favorite memories of the Attitude era.
- Daniel Bryan turning on the Wyatt Family in the cage match - Jericho defeating HHH for the title (before it was overturned) in 2000 Both of these crowd pops were HUGE and could be included on this list.
Not necessarily a single moment, but whenever Vickie Guerrero came out, you could barely hear the people on the mic. In fact, there was one promo where Cena went out to mock her, and the boos were so loud, for so long, while Cena tried to be heard while shouting into the mic, veins in his neck pulsating, bright red, and still unable to be heard, that everyone gave up, broke kayfabe, and started laughing. Cena, Vickie, Lillian Garcia, the commentators, the ref, EVERYONE laughed at the storm of hate blowing through the arena. Went on for like five minutes.
+Hiram Mulero Was thinking the same thing. I remember WWF muted that shit on replays. But when it was live, when Jericho's name went on the titantron, that crowd absolutely blew up.
Ziggler cashing in, Jericho debut, Cena returning @ 2005 Royal Rumble, and Rock and Austin showing up at Wrestlemania 30 were bigger pops than half of these
Canadian Stampede in '97 beats all off these. The crowd were going insane when Pillman came out and it just got louder as each member of the Hart Foundation came out. By the time Bret's music hit the place was shaking. The heel heat Austin was getting was also off the charts. He was already in his anti-hero face faze, but he was never more hated by a crowd than that one.
+Stuart Mitchell Just one great storyline and the biggest face v biggest Heel + Career on the line + Great Match Stipulation= Big Pop and Match of the year.
Kane returns with Paul Bearer 2/7/2000 - the pop was so loud when Paul Bearer appeared during Kane's Intro that people in attendance couldn't even hear the entrance music, and quite frankly, you struggle to hear the music for a good 4 or 5 seconds on the broadcast. There is a great HD video of this up on youtube and I'm shocked it didn't make the list, it makes AJ's debut pop sound like 10 or 15 pre-schoolers excited by an ice-cream truck.
so I guess what culture doesn't recognize Hulk Hogan anymore either his WWE run in 2002 he got 10-15 minute standing ovations louder than anything on this list not to mention WM3 slamming Andre or his first title win over Iron Shiek this list is full of sh*t
Shane Caddell he's actually the guy who got me into what culture lol i don't mind everyone, but Simon's evolution was great! But i really do miss the hell out of Adam and everything he brought to the channel
