A really nice cover that fits perfectly! Has held up perfect in Arizona in the sun and heat. No signs of fading from UV on my other BBQ after 2 years.

Heavy duty gloves I use for picking meat up HOT straight off the grill. I even shred pulled pork with them. They are a bit stiff so if you have dainty hands, they may not be the best for you.
amzn.to/3vhaiBr
My favorite brisket rub! Seriously GOOD!
amzn.to/3zag5K2
My favorite wireless thermometer (2 channel). Easy to use and has lasted 2 seasons for me. Did have to replace probes but that was our fault. Kids soaked them in a cup of water for several days (cable and all)

Extra pit boss probes:

It’s the best thing I bought in a long time. It smokes great between 225 & 250. If I think I need extra I’ll add the smoke tube. Great results on every cook. I’ve had it now for about a year now. Will definitely buy another when the time comes.

Great video! I would def love to see more videos on this smoker! The new app is so awesome for me. I love it. Haven’t had any issues at all. Love the new chart reading and time analytics. Although I do use IOS because I have a new iPhone 13. Maybe the issue is only with the Androids?

If you get the PB Pro 1150 V3 you will hate it, I promise you, no smoke setting, might as well buy a gas grill. at 180 grill temp is 220 and when you open the box and see that piece of paper that says don't return it, call pit Boss?? what a joke they don't follow up, and you can't return it! Reply
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 4 месяца назад
I have not tried the V3! V2 still going strong. I never used the S setting as that produces nasty tasting, heavy smoke and was around 180F anyways. Also, you will never get a brisket, butt or other slab of meat cooked at temps that low! All of my smoking and cooking is done at 220-250F which a cleaner burning (mostly non-blue / visible smoke).
@johnlindsay5066
@johnlindsay5066 4 месяца назад
@@MR_Garage so for those of us that like the smoke. Also I like my smoker around 200 when I do a brisket. I can't get this smoker to sit below 220 and as the smoke goes on it rises. I miss my 820. serious mistake buying the PBP1150 V3
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 4 месяца назад
At 200 on a brisket, to get it to 203-205 that would be a 20+ hour cook! Good lord sir! HAH. Are you wrapping or? That usually speeds things up.
@johnlindsay5066
@johnlindsay5066 4 месяца назад
@@MR_Garage So I put on smoke 8 hours, then crank the heat up to 200 until the Stall then at 165 I wrap with peach butcher paper to complete out with the smoker set at 225. Start probing at 195 internal. Just the way I have done it and have always been pretty successful. It renders out the majority of the fat while still being really juicy, and yes the smoke usually lasts about 20-22 hours (with a 20LB brisket)... But the PB-pro 1150 V3 runs so hot that it just dries it out or at least I think so. Reached out to Pit Boss, emailed Danson's... Oh yeah they will send you a part in heart beat for a smoker that is a month old, I should of never dumped my old PB Pro 820, the extra couple hundred cubic inches was not worth it.
@MR_Garage
@MR_Garage 4 месяца назад
Right on - At least with the V3, I think you can do over the air updates to the controller. My 1150 was originally a V1. Had to replace the controller to get it to V2 specs. Works great after that but the first 8 months was not great. I get it.

I have the 850 PS2 series. Tho mine must be one of the in-between models cuz it has the new control panel, just not the ash clean out on the bottom. I pull mine completely apart and Shop-Vac it after every other cook. I started that when I bought it and it only takes about 5 minutes so I figure it's a good habit to get into

I’ve got the Pit Boss 700, nowhere near this much ash from mine. I installed the Wi-Fi controller about 2 years after I bought the smoker. The first run with the Wi-Fi controller was a total let down. The smoker would constantly go over my set temperature by 100 degrees, before cooling down and doing it again. I went about 2 months without using the smoker again when I wanted to do a brisket, but I never got around to putting the non-Wi-Fi controller back in. I fired it up and used the Wi-Fi control on my phone, but this time, and every time since it has worked perfectly. It hasn’t gone more than 30-35 degrees above set temp. My only complaint left is that there is no 275 degree setting, 250 or 300 is what ya get.

My gf bought me one for Christmas and apparently they've upgraded and fixed the app. I've talked to agents there at the company and asked about it because I've read several reviews that mentioned the same problems you did and l was reassured that the software was upgraded and such problems have been corrected. Must be true because I've made temperature adjustments (even while l was miles away from home running errands) using the app and it's always worked fine for me. I suggest you call Pit Boss and im sure they'll have the firmware update available for you. Apparently it's the firmware and not the app although I would uninstall and reinstall the app after updating the grill's firmware to make sure both are updated. Now as for some folks mentioning using foil to cover the heat diffuser to keep it clean and for easier clean up...DO NOT DO THIS! While it may keep grease from dripping on the diffuser and making cleanups easy it's the leading cause of grease fires in the grills which ends up destroying the grill. Pit Boss has informed me that this IS NOT covered by the warranty as this constitutes altering or modifying the grill. Which voids the warranty. Besides the grease dripping on and burning off the diffuser acts like seasoning on a cast iron skillet. The mod I do recommend is to get the aftermarket plate that goes under the left end of the diffuser to prevent the hot air to flow from under the diffuser directly at the temperature probe which leads to HUGE temperature swings within the grill. Before getting the plate I noticed temperature swings as much as 80 degrees. Not any more. It can be mounted in place with the included screws or just put in place and it works just fine without actually drilling holes which will nullify the warranty. I suppose one could fill that gap with some wadded up foil to stop said airflow. That's the only issue I've had with my grill.

I just bought one of these yesterday and the app is amazing. I read it was updated though, so this video was probably made before. I can change the temp from anywhere since it’s on Wi-Fi. Go to the store and make adjustments.

Great video! Just got the 850 Pro delivered today. Haven’t even gotten to crank it up yet! Question though, I’m definitely not new to grilling although I’ve used only gas grills for many years now, but never have used a pellet grill. I noticed at the end of the video that the meat you have cooking, are both sitting in foil trays. Is that normally how you prefer to cook on your pellet grill, or do you also cook directly on the grate? Any tips and tricks you have that can make the whole process of using the pellet grill, on a regular basis, easier, I would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, for your time!!!!

I have the Pro Series 1150. I have used it about 10 times in two months. I was at Home Depot and saw that Treager has foil liners for it's smoker. I picked up a pack just to try it out. It is a game CHANGER! All grease and droppings go onto the foil liners Very easy to clean!!!

There was definitely a ton of ash in there… but no grease drippings. Where does the grease run off to? I have a Pit Boss Lexington and the grease management is horrendous in that unit. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just a bad design

I only use foil trays under meat when I cook. Leaves little mess in the smoker. Otherwise, a brisket and pork butt could fill 1/2 of a bucket !

I've been looking at the 1150 instead of the 850 because of the easier ash cleanup. Also seen videos of grills catching fire so glad i came across your video. Seems like people just don't clean up which can cause it, of they have a glitch on the firmware

Been looking at this. I have a Camo Chef Pro now. When I look at this smoker, I wonder how it handle the grease drippings. I see no flat pan that will catch the drippings. I smoke a lot of ribs and sauce the heck out of them, where will the extra sauce go that drips off the meat. I have yet to see anyone talk about this...help please...assure me..lol

We bought the Pro 850 version, put foil over the heat tray things to keep drippings off and it works fine. They are angled in a way that everything runs down and to the right, then into a catch can/bucket. Ours has the new PID controller with wifi and bluetooth. you just cant walk too far away or your phone drops connection. The app lets you monitor internal temps and two probe temps.

The diffuser plate underneath the grills sits at an angle. Which runs out into a trap, then into the grease bucket hanging on the side of the grill. I love mine it works great!
