i'm gonna take a wild guess and say that this is for the regular season only because if it's not then bobby ryan does not need to be anywhere on this list
Bryan Adams yeah larkin was learning a new position so he gets a pass, but Sheahan is not a stand out player who is expected of a lot so i wouldn't put him on this list even though it was a rediculous season for him.
to be fair to giroux and ghost, they did have hip surgery during the last off season and it takes a full year to recover, they will be back this season
Giroux? finished season with 14-44-58 in 82 games, which is extremely bad for a guy whose supposed to and has the ability to put up 70+ point seasons on the reg
As a Sabres/Caps/Coyotes/Flyers/Rangers fan (Yes ik a lot) I feel that Ovi should've been on the list and he's my favorite player! Yeah 33 goals is good but not for him! Also, where is Jamie Benn and Jonathan Toews?
How is Giroux not on the list? After being a 25 goal 70-90 pt guy the last 6 years he dropped to just 14 goals and 58 pts and scored at a 4th liner rate at 5v5 ... He was not even top 10 among Flyers' forwards in 5v5 scoring per time on ice. He was terrible this year and could only get assists on the Power play.
Nobody underperformed quite as much as him. Maybe Ghost but Giroux is a more proven commodity. Giroux was 2nd to last among Flyers forwards in 5v5 scoring per TOI ahead of only Bellamare who was dead last in the league ... it went well beyond the team or coach. I think the surgery played a big role and think he'll be better next year but he was really, really bad this past yr and just useless at 5v5. Hopefully for the sake of his contract he can at least be okay at 5v5 going forward.
I mean, Sam Bennett didn't really disappoint my dude. He was stuck playing regular shifts with guys like Troy Brouwer and Alex Chiasson playing on the 3rd line behind Monahan and Backlund. Not exactly a recipe for success.
I love it when a player gets a hugh contract and then plays like shit, it looks good on the management and I hope this trend continues forever.. it's the players with the big hearts and not just the big money contracts that I like.
with the exception of this year and everyone in the Hawks was invisible with the exception of Corey Crawford and by the way Toews was like literally one of three guys to score goal in the playoffs so ur wrong lol
Nathan Mcdonald it's not just leadership by the way it's an average of 50 points always being above 20 plus minus and a lot of other things you really have to watch Blackhawks games to understand what he does, actually does change the game which sucks considering the fact that I'm a St.Louis Blues fan. I literally watch every Blues and Blackhawks game and I can tell you even though I hate the Blackhawks very much he does change the game and deserves every penny of the Blackhawks pay him.. sorry that you're too young and immature to understand s*** like this guarantee your under 18 years old. and probably been watching hockey for two years.
by the way when Toews was drafted you don't understand pretty much every team in the league wanted to get Toews on their team. while i was watching the rebuild of a dead franchise , come back to life looking like a dynasty was approaching like a a storm in the distance [ which did happen by the way the Blackhawks were a modern-day Dynasty and still might be ] you were busy crawling around in your crib and sitting in your diapers
KingJake Toews has already proven that he can be a goal scorer early on in his career but that's not his job with the Chicago Blackhawks he has other responsibilities which is why his numbers and points are not as high as other Elite guys. mainly because the Blackhawks already have an elite score in Patrick Kane which is why they don't need another elite scorer they need Toews unique skill set in other areas of the game which sacrifices his ability to score yet he still averages above 50 points a year and still has the ability to be a 65 plus Point scorer if need be. but you wouldn't know that cuz u dont watch the blackhawks and 1 or 2 games dont count, half of their games dont count. u cant talk because almost every credible analyst or announcer in the NHL all agree that Toews is one of the best players in the league. and you want to know why they say that because they watch pretty much every game for every team.
Definitely Dylan Larkin. Showed a lot of potential his rookie year, but fell into the "sophomore slump". Hopefully he can get out of it and keep continuing to grow into a great player, but for now I remain unimpressed
Let me guess and say he's a lightning fan cause he's was more personal about talking to him the the rest of the players😂 it's like he was upset cause he had an off year
ReepsFilms it wasn't in a negative way I just got a feeling cause you put more soul into bishop than the rest, he'll have a rebound year and go back to God mode soon keep up the good vids man
Sam Bennet did fine it's his second season lol anything more the 15 points is fine for a 2 year pro... Number 1 Jacob josephson high draft pick fail for Devils
KingJake I agree with your argument that you can't deny that he underperformed because he scored around his average Point margins but saying that Toews was never good it's just as wrong and incorrect
Look Toews, for being a $10 million player, should put up more than 58 points. He should be able to put up more than 68 points. He might use the excuse that he doesn't focus on that aspect, but that's really just an excuse when players like Benn can put up 80+ points in a season and still be an excellent defensive player. Toews is overpaid if you ask me and his leadership is excellent but it's literally only something that is given value after the fact. Ain't nobody called him the greatest leader since Messier until he won 3 cups. I guess you could add Crosby to that list since he won 3 cups. But the Chicago folk would never swallow that, so it just supports the claim that it's an intangible. And really, he's a great player, he's just over valued as a defensive player. A Selke candidate and 60 points isn't worth $10 million a year.
Clicker Ker Well Vancouver isnt really that good so its hard for the sedin brothers to carry the team alone + they are getting old. Ekman-Larsson had a pretty tough year and i think it went that way because his mother passed away which made him play with a heavy heart, he still had 40 points and that isnt bad for a d-man.
Vincent Rosėn I know Vancouver isn't that good but Henrik had 55 with 74 games last year and Daniel had 61 with 82 games... Horvat carried the team and Ekman-Larsson can do better he did around 60 points for a d-man
Yes Kopitar struggled and Perry disapointing with 50 Points? Cause of his high Niveau? The others are bad. Why the NHL Teams make so long 8 Year Contract by Players in Draisaitl or Mc Davids Age its O.K but over 30 its a high Risk! !In Soccer, NBA they dont make this crazy Moves why in NHL?
Puljujarvi i could understand but Tkachuk had a better rookier yr than most thought he would have had. He was only 18 and wasnt even picked in the top 5 but was already a 50 pt guy who also played great defense. Tkachuk had a damn good year and exceed most expectations.
he better be talking about Evander Kane. but then again he was autistic enough to say Jonathan Toews yet literally he got his same point average he's been getting for the past three years, plus it seems that people don't realize that Toews is a lot more for the team than scorer and I'm not talking about his leadership. people need to stop acting like they know everything and start watching Blackhawks games and then they'll see what he actually does for the team because believe me I'm not even a Blackhawks fan but I watch every Blackhawks game and I can tell you right now that he does something on the ice that changes the way the team plays.
