Love this movie. NO idea why...but so much stupidly funny stuff in it. I always remember the line. "...that's why it's called a shortcut. If it was easy, it would just be called 'the way'!"
I went to school with DJ. Haven't seen him in a while but we are Facebook friends. He has been in just about every important TV show in the last 2 decades.
Tiny salmon swimming in a stream Tiny salmon chasing that impossible dream The minor bird says ahhh, ah-ahhh The chimpanzee says ee ee ee ee ee ee ee The friendly owl says whooo, who-whooo But the salmon can only say bloo bloo bloo blo bloo bloo And it's sad
Or she’s all that Josie and the pussycats mean girls sex drive bring it on American pie 2 Superbad you got served clueless not another teen movie New York minute
When this movie came out, I was a security guard in a movie theatre in Mississauga Ontario Canada. Opening night we were alerted that one of the stars of the movie was going to be there with his family. Paulo Costanzo. He looked at me and my coworker and said, “ooo rent a cop”. 😂
This, Eurotrip, Road Trip, Old School, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers and then The Hangover........most quoted in my group. I mean, could you even go 10 min without anyone referencing them!?
Love this film. I saw this in the theater as well with my late older brother a year after American Pie. It premiered a few days after my birthday. Great memories
Road trip gained traction after it's release. (No pun intended.) It seemed like a discount American Pie at first, but definitely had it's own allure. However, it does highlight the need for the right people in your life. The wrong ones can ruin a great bonding experience. I lost most of my road trip buddies. I miss those years. Life is short. Go on road trips as often as you can.
My road trip buddies were guys in my units while I was in the military, served in both the navy and the army ( tho not at the same time-LOL ) I too miss those years, glad I was so-NAUGHTY-while in the military-LOL. I had a lot of-FUN-maybe-TOO-much fun tho.
I met Breckin in the parking lot at a concert in 2017. Cool guy and didn’t realize until after how many of my favorite movies growing up he was in, ie Clueless, Can’t Hardly Wait, Rat Race and of course this 😎
Let’s start off small. would you like a fresh towel? Maybe you can roll that up and smoke it.. I was a junior in high school when this came out. Great movie!!!!
It’s interesting that Reese Witherspoon was almost the main girl in this flick because she already made this movie in the early 90’s. It’s called Overnight Delivery.
@@jimsheppard3166I really don’t know how or why that guy became popular… he’s literally the most pointless celebrity who’s ever lived. I mean, it’s no surprise that his popularity didn’t last at all. That makes sense, but how did he become famous in the first place
@@nsasupporter7557 he was popular on Canadian TV in 1994 to up until 1999 when he moved to MTV when he exploded in popularity then. Then he got cancer and actually did a show about his testicular cancer. He had to take a break from working so he cancelled his own show but reruns continued till 2006
This came out the year after I graduated from college. Friggin loved it! College road trips were the best. Keep up the great work Minty. Love your channel. 🍻
One of my favorite Sean William Scott performances is when he was on Its Always Sunny as Mac’s cousin…now everytime I see him I think of “Country Mac”😂🤣
Road Trip is one of my all time favorite comedies.. My buddy had the VHS in 6th grade and we would watch on repeat 😂😂😂 still one of my go to comfort movies
@@Peaceforall20111 no, I disagree… his character in Dude Where’s My Car was a nice, dumb harmless stoner. He wasn’t an a**hole like Stifler. So no, he was still a different character in Dude Where’s My Car
@@nsasupporter7557I am more thinking about his type of thinking… I don’t think I can fully explain in text but I agree with your response. Best word to explain is “simple” thinking and “depth” of thought.
I agree about coming out at the right time in my life. Like American Pie coming out right before my senior year of high school. This came out right before college.
I watched that DVD a million times. So much so that I noticed a pretty obvious reshoot of a few of the Tom Green scenes. There's an older dad who has glasses and gray hair. When he speaks, it's one actor. For some of the crowd walk & talk scenes, sometimes he's there, and sometimes a much younger extra with spray painted gray hair has subbed in! There's at least one other featured extra who gets subbed for in the reshoots. Great movie!
I don't like "pranks" that come at innocent stranger's expense, & yet I never had a problem with Tom Green doing it... ...maybe I would nowadays. I'd say we probably both grew out of it. I can remember trying to Skype with him when he moved his show to his house lol
Thanks for this Minty! I was 14 when the film was released and it was the first movie I bought on DVD on my 15th birthday! I'm 38 now and I watched it 2 months ago for the first time in over 10 years and it is still hilarious fun. I love the police officers at the car jump scene. The comedic timing and inflections are perfect!
Great job Minty! These are the new classic movies we want to know about! I remember going to the theater with my best friend and our girlfriend's, who were both foreign exchange students, and we were in tears laughing so much! Which taught me no matter where you're from young people are the same regardless where you're from. We all understand young, dumb shenanigans!
There were some scenes filmed at the Georgia Tech campus as well (I was a student at the time). Specifically where Tom Green is leading the tour group past a fountain and when Anthony Rapp is telling the class that the exam will cover _ALL_ in-class lectures.
Good times indeed bro! I was a sophomore in high school when this came out & I loved it! My wrestling catch phrase is borrowed from this film! "Unleash the fury!" Thanks again Minty! Keep bringing 90s & 2000s flicks!
Me, Myself and Irene came out in 2000 also. But it was overshadowed by this movie and Meet the Parents, unfortunately. Me, Myself and Irene was better than both movies put together
@@MikeG82 it seemed like it was, yeah. Me, Myself and Irene was a movie that flew under the radar. I call it the most under appreciated Jim Carrey movie
@@nsasupporter7557 I would've thought Me Myself and Irene would've been more well known and successful as Jim Carrey was a much bigger star than anybody on Road Trip
Good job minty I bookmark this because I wanted to look for the other movies that you suggested that were similar. I’ve been watching your channel for a long time.
Great video, this is one of my favorite comedies! My cousin and I used to watch this in high school all the time. Also, even though Sean William Scott's character is similar to Stifler, EL is not a douchebag like Stifler. He actually seamed like he cared about this friends. And I actually really like Eurotrip as it's own thing.
The funny thing is I'm currently watching different teen comedies and Road Trip along with American Pie are on that list and you release this video along with an American Pie video. Talk about perfect timing.
