Another random tip: If they're attacking you with a revolver then they have either a shotgun or sniper as primary weapon, meaning they're either too close or too far from you. Stay in mid range and you will have the upper hand.

Nah. I carry dual revolvers and an axe and simply refuse to engage outside my window. Usually land a hit or two, switch and charge because poison/fire bullets panic players. I'm brand new and more used to tarkov so im probably playing weird.

@@dopatonin Not only is this not true, it also doesn't take into account bullet drop or the 'sighted' benefits of repeater's/rifles, such as being able to fire repeatedly through irons with the right perks.

I just started playing and, despite having that noob fear to push, I was amazed to see how many people are afraid to push. Geez, at one point, I was with 2 lvl 50 against one guy barricaded in a small wooden building. These 2 guys were just crouching around, not trying to push while I was covering the other exit. I had to push myself with a Martini Henry Riposte I had looted and get the kill myself, shoot + bayonet, despite having a low level hunter, little experience and not a great weapon for close range.

Nice! One thing I should have mentioned in the video is that even though getting comfortable pushing is important, it's just as important to know when to pause and hold out. In your case though, pushing was the right call! Ppl that play by camping the lair for 35 minutes blow my mind.

Whenever I buy a game I assume hipfire is inaccurate. When I started playing Tarkov and learned that I could hipfire, it helped me hit so many more shots and get so many more kills. I hope it’s the same case for hunt. Thank you.

It is 100% the case for hunt. I've discovered hipfire can actually be fairly reliable in a number of FPS games, but the learning curve is what makes it feel inaccurate. In the case of Hunt, hipfire is quite good.

Tip for all the gunslinger buddies out there. If you can't handle the extra input for the Hunter scheme, but don't want your gun to stick out of a wall - just long-press Q ( default on PC), and you will switch to Hunter scheme, up until you ads.

One tip that goes with his hip fire tip: my aim used to dog water, so I spent a handful of games using only silenced weapons, walking around practicing snapping onto mobs and headshots and such, practicing hip fire and all. Bc of that my aim is substantially better and I hold a 2.3-2.4 k/d now.

In Hunter configuration can you not aim down sights at all?

Hunter gives you three stances. 1. Gun at your side, you can melee in this stance. 2. Gun at hip fire. 3. Gun at ADS. I believe you can only sprint in stance 1.

Yes! I really like the Logitech G502 and a couple of the guys I play with also use the same mouse. I have been using G502s for a number of years and I can’t get enough of them.

I don't see the point of hip firing. You run the same speed when you ADS and when you hipfire so what exactly are you gaining by hipfiring?

A few advantages. 1. If you aren't a laser beam FPS player, you gain probably a second or two by being able to hipfire instead of zero in to ADS. This makes the game more accessible, IMO. 2. Hipfire gets you half the way to hitting your target. Sometimes you just don't have that extra half second you need to ADS, especially if your enemy is closing on you with a melee or shotgun. Hipfire is exclusively how I shoot shotguns, and it's pretty reliable for really any gun.

I agree with the hip fire tip, but I don't really see how the hunter mode can be better than the gunslinger one. On gunslinger you can hold Q to hold the weapon the same way you do in hunter mode, which was the only advantage I knew hunter mode had

I think gunslinger puts the game in a COD box. Hunter really makes you play more methodically. I think ppl should start on hunter, and once they are very comfortable with the game, consider gunslinger. You just won't get far in Hunt with a focus on run&gun when you are starting out.

One thing you shouldn't do is see an enemy, not fire, hide, then emerge from that same point to fire. They will have a bead on it and the advantage to hit you first if they saw you go into cover. Pop out at different points if possible.

I think Hunt takes quite a while to figure out, but I disagree. I think people can get the hang of it much much sooner than that. I think a good threshold is somewhere around 100 hours.

Coming to hunt after playing a bunch of "realistic" shooters, I dislike how short range shotguns have. In reality shotguns are used for hunting and are pretty accurate quite far away and do serious damage to ducks and other non armored fleshy creatures. So 15m for a shotgun not to be effective is just mind boggling to me. Sure it would make balancing harder but I wish shotguns would get more love in FPS games other than 2 m klll radius and then just confetti.

The common pushback I hear from this argument is always "if shotguns worked like they do IRL, shotguns would be OP in every single game." I think this is fair. You just can't really beat that stopping power.

The ONLY advantage Hunter has over Gunslinger is weapons not clipping through walls. It won't give you any other advantage, might even get you killed more since it's a 2 step process to fire a gun in ADS.

I have been killed less and in return I have made my shot more often now. So I guess it just depends on play style. I do get what you mean though. I thought it was kind of backwards at first. Like "Why would I want to take another step to shoot?", but after playing probably 15 matches I changed my mind. HUNTER FOR LIFE

I think it affects your playstyle enough toward a more methodical and "take your time" approach, which lends itself to the game's design better than gunslinger does. So, to that point, I do think it can be more advantageous if you play it like that.

Hunter gives you the ability to play very high sensitivity while maintaining accuracy during hipfire and ads, and people that say " hunter is slower because it's a 2 stage process" are people that don't even use it, the ads speed is negligible. After 1000 hours on gunslinger and 1500 on hunter the choice is clear to me, there's a reason all the best players use hunter and not gunslinger.

it's all about the melee... i have so much more confidence in my melee with just left clicking and not reaching for a key. and my gun doesn't stick through walls when I'm camping (crouching)
